Gareth treats you like he is hosting you in his home. Exceptional. Watch out for the wonderful variety of runs and absinthe. Two is too many. Three is not enough.

Really nice food, and a very pleasant atmosphere - having traveled throughout America quite a bit the food was definitely a match. a touch pricey for that style of food - but hey it's the heart of London so nothings cheap especially when it's good.

The food wasn’t good. It was overpriced and tasted like something I could make at home myself. The staff were ok. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back. I must admit when I first arrived I felt quite awkward. I walked in being the only one there and all the staff were being very load talking amongst themselves. Even heard some of them swearing. Just seemed very unprofessional.

Excellent food, service and value for money. It is tucked away so you have to know it is there. Book to avoid disappointment as it does get busy...

Catches you off guard as you enter via the side of a busy City pub, decor was classic and smart, the food was simple - but restaurants can be quite excellent when focusing on the simple things and doing it well, and that is exactly what happens at The Fat Bear. The buffalo wings were faultless, the best I’ve had. The chicken sandwich boasted the biggest piece of fried chicken I had ever seen, despite its size it was tender throughout, accompanied with perfectly cooked fries. As my guest added, when your main course was excellent, you felt compelled to taste one of the puddings, and the Oreo cheesecake was an absolute dream. Excellent restaurant in an area full of not so great restaurants.

Good hearty food and decent value for being in the city. Would go again. The fried chicken was a decent portion but the waffles were a little small

Good value for money, a modest menu but plenty of choice. Quiet on day of visit, but service with appropriate and not pushy without long waits.

Good Food, very large portions. I had the gumbo and it was all very flavourful. Others had the chicken and waffle with sriracha maple syrup, that looked really good.

Our 4th visit to the Fat Bear. Great fried chicken. I'm not keen on brioche buns so that part of the meal didnt get eaten. Great service . Very friendly but not intrusive waiting staff. Nice atmosphere as well.

I stopped by The Fat Bear for dinner. Service and food was excellent. I'm from the south, and the food here tastes better than my family's cooking. I highly recommend.

The Fat Bear is excellent! I'm from the American South and this restaurant is the most authentic Southern food that I've come across in London.

Food was good but too much salt added which I always find a pain because if I want salt, I'll add it myself! Obviously do this to make you drink more.

Super tasty southern American food, we had the shared fried chicken platter also added on the catfish. Had some great cocktails, tell the barman what you like and bingo!

The food was reasonable, although some of my chicken was burnt, however I can't let a few pieces of burnt chicken let the rest of the meal down. So I would say this Restaurent is worth a try.

The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful throughout the dining experience. Food was tasty and value for money. They are currently showcasing a new pop-up concept called the Abstruse Goose, where each patron have 3-4 small dishes. But I would recommend sharing 1 large and 2 small dishes for two people due to their generous portions

Experience was good. Food average. Had the Mac n Cheese with Garlic Fries and chicken from the starter menu. The Mac n Cheese could have been more Cheesy...barely tasted the Garlic in the fries but that is just my opinion. Would visit again to try other menus

Excellent food. We are from the states and it was great to have some home cooked food. The owner was very nice and the cocktails were great! Wish we would have found them sooner than we did. Would have gone back.

From the pub to this very cool, high-service focused dining experience, we had a great night of great dining. One exception: the dipping sauce for the fried pickles were wrong. wrong sauce for this delicious dish...so upon dipping the pickle into sauce, the pickle's taste was way off. w/out the sauce, pickle was excellent. surprised this excellent kitchen misses this...and it's not a cultural difference: it's just off. otherwise, it would have been a "6" experience ps: i will happily return to TFB...and recommend it highly to others

This is my 4th time eating at The Fat Bear. The food was nice, especially the mac and cornbread. Although, we felt the small plates concept isn't needed. I missed the poutine and truffle fries. The service was not to the same level as previous visits.

Enjoyed a great lunch at Fat Bear with 14 small plates of all shapes and sizes for our party of 4. We weren't disappointed by any, some spicy all flavoursome, but our favourite had the be the super corn dogs. Definitely a return visit is on the cards.

I really liked the decor and location, something a bit different. I dropped a mark because I thought the gumbo was a tad bland , with a bit of extra kick it would have been much better. Wings and chicken tenders were very good but with such high competition in London , I wouldn't say they were outstanding. Courgette fries were really delicious, as was the Oreo cheesecake desert. Plenty of other dishes I saw people around me having that looked really great and the drink selection was good. Overall a solid place , worth a visit.

Very much enjoyed this restaurant. In a great part of town - 5 min from St Paul but off the tourist route. Beautiful décor, wonderful mellow atmosphere, lovely food, friendly and efficient staff. You can sit and enjoy your meal without feeling that you were there for an allotted amount of time. Will definitely be returning.

This is probably more 3.5 as the service was excellent and the place was really nice. Our starters were nice but the mains were a little disappointing, but perhaps other dishes would have been better. Would give it another go
