I booked afternoon tea for my Mum’s Birthday. The staff were very accomodating to our dietary requirements and super friendly when we arrived. Everything was just as we requested and was delicious. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely place - food prepared with care. Only area that could be improved is waiting time to get bill and then pay it.

Food had been sitting for a while so veggies and potatoes came out cold. Rations on gravy and food in general for the price charged. Place was cold and service was below par

Poor service. Meidocre food. Part of pur order came out late and when it did come out, it was missing one of the elements. Halfway though the meal, this dish was taken back to the kitchen and ‘replated’ with the missing element. Hardly an apology and no offer to take item off the bill.

Booked a table for 5 for lunch with some visitors from abroad, on arrival we were kept waiting for 5-7 minutes even though the restaurant was practically empty. The chap on the counter continued making tea and the waitress chatted to the only other customers at their table. Finally seated we ordered lunch and after 25-30 minutes wait we called the waitress over to mention we had to head back and if we could hurry up on our order she told us they didn't have any more fish due to an accident - fish was what a couple of us had ordered! so we then had to re-order something else very quickly, and eat and leave in 15 minutes. I wonder how long she would've waited if we hadn't prompted her? So generally poor customer services, kept waiting at the door then kept waiting for our food and only when prompted the waitress told us they actually weren't able to provide us with what we ordered. The actual food was good though and no complains there.

We loved the venue, it was cosy and styled in a unique way so it was nice experiencing a different atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and there service was great also! The food was good...no gravy came on my roast and the hot pot wasn't fully cooked as it was cold firm and cold in the middle, however this did not effect our experience and we will be back!

Good honest food, very generous portions, steak was perfect. Cosy atmosphere, family friendly as the small but we'll stocked play area is a big bonus for weary parents! Friendly service. Worth a visit.

We were told there was a wait for food which we understood, but then we realised we had been waiting an hour and everyone else has been served even people who came after us. I had to go to the coffee counter and ask a few times what was happening. The cafe owner was sitting on the table next to us and finally got involved. If the staff had even asked us if we had wanted another drink etc they would have been made aware. We were just ignored. Food was lovely when it finally arrived. Wouldn’t rush back due to the lack of customer service.

Very nearly there. Definitely in the right direction and exactly what is missing in the area. The quality of the produce is really and good and great that it is locally sourced. l I’d personally think the roast beef should be cooked rarer to showcase the quality of the meat. Also, roast potatoes should be crispier.

Really lovely place and food was amazing and reasonably priced. We all ate from the brunch menu but at weekends this crosses over the weekend lunch menu so lots to choose from. Lots of space and quirky surroundings.

Only ones there but bad service and terrible food Wife's salad was just leaves and mothers pride bread instead of sour dough with the tapenade Think they were getting ready for news years eve but we feel let down , we used it a few times mainly for breakfast but won't be going background

Friendly staff. Nice seating area. Skinny breakfast was good. Nice sausage. Not served overly hot. Avocado n poached eggs good but disappointed with the smoked salmon. Did not look very appetizing. Cappuccino was not overly hot either. Will definitely give it another go.

A nice meal, despite issues with the starter. The service was good and problems were rectified quickly. Family friendly room was a great help with two little ones. Would go again for breakfast or brunch as found this time of day better than lunch/dinner. Overall worth a visit.

Nice, rustic place. Food good, well cooked and tasty. Service was very slow with only younger staff, who spent a lot of time chatting and not serving.

Please tell enough setting. Food reasonable and a reasonable price. Service a little a slow maybe but very friendly.Main reason not rated higher ,the tables are very close together, which means conversations are very easily overheard which is somewhat intrusive.

Waited hour and half for starters - they did explain after an hour that a fryer had broken, then they bought us a round of drinks, for the Waite and discounted the starters. They arrived 1 hour 40 minutes after we ordered. It was hard as we had two children with us. The mains arrived later and my dinner was cold but I couldn’t be bothered to send back. They most probably had trouble in the kitchen and these things happen, the head waitress tried her best, and tried to implement her training but the rest of the staff didn’t seem to have a clue. I hope they get it together for Xmas as it could be a goldmine for the owners if run a bit better. It’s a good concept and works apart from something I have moaned about t before when I visited - it’s really quite uncomfortable because of the cold - even the waitresses had cardigans on - have they no heating? Let’s hope if they have a good Xmas they invest in a bit of heating.

A good first experience encouraged by 50% off food & live music! The venue is rustic & was a tad draughty on a very cold evening, but the warmth of the welcome & the staff made up for it. The food is freshly prepared & arrived in good time. We had the whitebait & mushrooms which were both delicious. For mains I had roasted butternut squash which was a most unusual combination & very tasty with the house red Merlot. My husband had the spicy chicken. It came as a leg which he wasn’t expecting & didn’t enjoy. This was unexpectedly taken off the bill. Overall the service & food are recommended & we will be back during the day or on a warmer evening!

Food was lovely. Noticed that the menu has been reduced as pancakes are no longer on the menu. The servings are generous and of a good quality. Will go again.
