Really great food and friendly staff, the views are really incredible. If you're looking for a good day out that won't cost you a fortune go here!
Food brilliant. Excellent menu which was varied and imaginitive. Service was OK but would have liked a few more smiles and warmth from staff. Would definitely return.
Good food, well prepared. Service was a bit rushed, no water on the table, nor second drinks offered. Very pleasan atmosphere, would go again and would recommend to friends
Great food, with amazing views across the valley and very friendly staff who ensure you have an fantastic experience. I will definitely go there again.
Excellent food from an extensive choice menu. Very pleasant staff, would certainly visit again. The views across the valley were well worth our first visit to the Edgemoor.
Friendly service, gorgeous views and good food. Several vegetarian options to chose from but no veggie roast dinner, so we just had the Sunday roast without the meat which was delicious anyway.
Not many customers present at time of visit which made the atmosphere a bit lacking. The food was just OK, but overall we were underwhelmed with our dining experience. Some other customers complained about their food whilst we were there. The desserts were in our opinion expensive at £5.95 so we didn't order any and £8.50 for cheese and biscuits is way too much considering the venue is really nothing special. Bill for 4 with just 3 starters, mains and drinks was £85. Doubt we will return.
We went there in the evening, the food and service was really excellent . The views from this Inn must be really spectacular although it was dark when we arrived.
Enjoyed a lovely meal here after a stunning walk in the Cotswolds. The staff were very friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend!
Excellent as always. Good food, good service, good views. Varied menu and responsible prices. Had a 'bistro' steak which I could have sworn was actually a very tender fillet!
Staff friendly, helpful and very efficient. Didn't have to wait a long time for food even though it was busy. Food was absolutely lovely. We've never had a bad meal here!
Food was fine - particularly liked the smaller dessert with coffee. Service good. All happy with what we had would go again. On top of location before you know it by road - perhaps warning sign 100yds down road?
Lovely staff and very good service but the food lacked seasoning and indeed the tapas starters were diaappotungly bland. Nice pub though so would go back for a drink again.
on arrival we received a warm welcome and was taken to our table, very comfortable seating and surroundings, staff were very friendly, the food was of a high standard and not rushed which in turn gave a nice relaxed evening, highly recommended.
Wonderful Sunday roast for my Mums Birthday. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely atmosphere and desserts to die for with an amazing view. Thank you for making it a special day we will be revisiting.
Nice atosphere and friendly staff. Food was lovely and we didn’t have to wait long between courses so very happy. Went in the evening when it was dark but have been in daylight and views are fantastic.
Excellent all round service and good value for money. All the family thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will be backin the not too distant future.Highly recommended.
Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious and good size portions. The menu was very varied and we’re back for roast dinner in the same week.
Great home cooked food - liver and bacon particularly good. Friendly proprietor and staff. Not to mention the best view in the Cotswolds. Well worth a visit.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch excellent food and very friendly staff enhanced by the lovely views ,one of our many visits to this lovely country inn
we went for the first time having heard good things and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Friendly courteous staff. Super food. Good choice of menu. A very pleasant experience. I would certainly dine at the "Edgemore" again. I have already recommended it to my friends.
The food was good as usual. The restaurant was busy (being after Christmas) and there was a family birthday table but felt the service was a little slow.
Excellent food - they must have some very good chefs ! Didn't need to book a table as the restaurant was not full, but it's useful to do so all the same.
I took my husband out for a light birthday lunch mid week. We enjoyed excellent food, service with a smile, and although the decor was Christmassy, it still felt birthday'ish', which is what we had hoped for, so thank you staff at the Edgemoor.
Food was excellent and staff very helpful. The restaurant was very busy though and as it is not carpeted, there is a lot of background noise which made conversation a little difficult and the atmosphere was “loud”. Probably to be expected in mid December!
Delicious meal beautifully cooked & served. Staff very attentive. Everywhere clean and bright. It had a great ambience. All eight of us enjoyed every expect of our meal. Thank you
Varied menu and prices, good food that was nice and hot. Brilliant puddings! I think the smaller taster pudding served with coffee or tea is a very good idea so you can have a pudding but not feel over full.
The food was excellent but the restaurant was rather quiet. There was some confusion over the bill with some £25 missed off. We received no thanks for pointing this out when we could have left and just paid the original lower amount. This disappointed us a little as we were made to feel that it was almost our fault. Still - the jokes in the crackers were of higher quality that usual and we much enjoyed getting together.
welcoming, quiet, flexible service, fantastic food. careful attention to detail, including mustard allergy. we'll keep going there again and again. thanks to all the team!
An excellent menu with multiple choices even for vegetarians and GF. Food well cooked and the puddings are just heavenly! On top of that the most amazing views over the valley - a really excellent choice and recommended to those of you just travelling through!
Good meal at a very reasonable price. My only quibble is that the lighting in the restaurant was too bright and needed to be dimmed.
Good food, warm welcome and excellent service. Very reasonably priced, and lovely location. We will certainly go again as it is close to where we live
We were on holiday and wanted somewhere for an evening meal and very pleased with service and our meal , All was excellent with the food and a very pleasent staff. Well worth a visit, would book though as it was busy.
Lovely views, lovely food, good menu choice for vegetarians. Would have liked a table by the window but was in the back which did lower the score! Also service was a bit slow.. Otherwise great..
The food and service were excellent on this occasion. A very wide range of dishes were available and cooked to order. A very warm welcome was extended to our party of eight people.
We enjoyed our lunch at the Edgemoor Inn. Delicious food, and very helpful service. The Whisky and Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding was particularly special!
Read good reviews so looking forward to it, BUT, Prawn starter needed grilling or searing till it turns dark pink and meaty (not pale pink as tho it was just defrosted) Vegan meal (beefburger) needs changing, like paste in the middle. The Batter on Haddock was awful, thick and gooy inside, shame as fish was OK. Veggy pie and Lasagna were the two things that were fine, Oyster Catcher white wine very nice. IF we go again in Spring for view outside WOW! we would just order Lasagne to play safe.
Food good but where we were sat wasn’t the best place as the table just behind us meant it was tight to squeeze through otherwise it was good
As a party of three, we visited The Edgemoor Inn on Sunday afternoon for a spot of lunch. Whilst busy, all staff were very polite, helpful and quick to take our orders & bring us our drinks. We did have to wait approximately 35-40 minutes from placing our food order, to receiving our meals as there seemed to be some larger parties already seated, but when the food arrived it was hot, beautifully presented & very tasty. We regularly visit The Edgemoor, and are always impressed with the service & quality of the meals we receive. On a side note, I highly recommend the Smoked Haddock Risotto Fish Cakes & Oreo Cheesecake - AH-MAZING!
We were taken to our table promptly, and were pleased to find it was a window table with lovely views. Again, service was prompt and efficient, with good choice of food on the menu and the food when it arrived was well cooked and tasty and the dessert delicious. Although busy, (on a Wednesday evening!) the restaurant was not too noisy, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Super location for views across the valley. Excellent service. Food wonderful, adequate portion sizes, nicely presented and served hot. Service good. Exceptional. Looking forward to my next visit.
Had booked for a birthday meal for a friend who has a few dietary requirements. We both really enjoyed our meals. The menu choice was varied and we both felt our food was suberbly 'freshly' cooked and tasty. Also the staff were attentive and friendly. Thank you
Lovely restaurant with great views. The Staff were friendly and very efficient, and our food was excellent. We would recommend this restaurant for special occasions as well as informal gatherings
Very good food in a great environment. The views from this restaurant across the valley to Painswick and beyond are really stunning. There is a very good range of food on offer from either the bar or restaurant menus.
Whilst the venue and the view are lovely, we did feel that the food was not as wonderful as we were expecting! The kale was virtually uncooked and extremely chewy, and the beef was a huge let down. It had a strange texture and lots of stringy bits and 'tubes' in it which put me off straight away. I would add that the Yorkshire puds were the best we had ever tasted. Also the Uley beer was not the best pint my partner had ever had, even though he is a fan of their Bitter! We will most likely not return.
Have not been to this venue for a while and was very impressed. The food and service were good and my request for a table with a view was met. A very nice birthday lunch with my friend thank you.
Very nice meal, steak cooked to perfection. Also efficient service even although the restaurant was very busy. Will certainly go again whilst we are here on holiday.
Delicious food - fish, steak and calamari with great desserts and friendly and helpful staff. Great views too , looking over to Painswick . Good Selection of beers.
As a party of three, we enjoyed a lovely evening at The Edgemoor. All mains were delicious, with a particular nod to the smoked haddock fish cakes and the white chocolate/oreo cheesecake. Orders were taken and served in a timely manner, and we cannot fault the evening at all. Excellent service and brilliant menu; we will certainly be returning time and time again.
