Good food, large portions, lovely staff! I will definitely come back again. Also the music made me want to party. Much needed in Croydon. Well done Dutchie!

I heard about the Dutchie - I tried it, but the food could have been fresher - the Bob Marley cocktail was the best along with the oxtail - but that's about it really - don't think I'll be going back though 🤔

Loved the atmosphere, wicked cocktails! The service was good, but slow. The vegetarian options were limited & not tasty. Would recommend for all the positives above. Would have liked to hear background music.

I love the food there i just wish there was a Dutchie takeaway or restaurant in East Dulwich. We have a few Indian resturants, Chinese, Turkish, Italian and a couple of others but no Jamaican.

We waited up to 15 minutes to get seated and another long wait to order food. However once food finally arrived it was great quality!

I do enjoy the food at The Dutchie but the waiting times are ridiculous and the waiters/waitresses barely crack a smile. It would be much better if the waiting time improved and the staff had more positive energy.

Young man in striped shirt was very professional and handled the situation very well with the amount of customers he had and the amount of things he was doing. Even after seating us he came and checked that everything was ok. Lovely food very good service.

This was my second visit to Douchie and the food was still of the same great standard as the first visit just after it opened. My guests really enjoyed the evening and food. The waiting staff are very young, polite and very well trained. Worth the journey from Eastbourne.

Arrived and the service was terrible. Took them 25mins just for a server to arrive and take drinks orders. Sharing platter arrived with no cutlery or plates. Took 4 reminders and 15mins to receive this by which time the food was cold. They run out of Jerk sauce on a Saturday night in a Jamaican restaurant! Took over 1h to receive main courses and they all came one by one with a 15min gap from the first to the last. That for a table of 6. The bill was completely incorrect as well and had loads of drinks added we didn't have. The worst thing was that it was my husbands birthdqay dinner and everyone was just super frustrated. We have been before but our friends haven't and they all came especially from London to celebrate. Absolute joke!

Booked a table for 6pm. Finally got seated at 7pm. Service was not good at all. They didn't seem to allocate waiters to certain areas of the restaurant . We were served by a total of 3 staff. We had a £10 plus service charge added to our bill for the poor service we received. Although the food was good, I would not recommend or visit again.

I found the food to be very nice and the portions a good size, not too big and not too small. the only downside was then service, i found it a little inadequate, and with my party only 3 of us received the correct order the first time. When the mistakes was repoted to the waiter he was not rude but very misarable looking and did not try to explain or apaologise for the mistakes this was frustrating. In addition we all found that the music was on the too loud side. On the up side i found you to be very accommodating, bearing in mind we had two small children with us who were running around. The two older children were very happy with their meals too. i would be happy to visit you again but hopefully my experience will be taken into consideration and corrected.

Food portion size is good, the curry goat and rice taste Wonderfull just like mum use to make. Personally I would of liked a side salad with the meal and I found the booth seating hard and slightly to far away from the table. did not like the fact that there was no natural light as the restaurant appears to be below street level Staff were very prompt and attentive atmosphere relaxed. DJ played some nice tunes but was not the best. overall a nice experience .

Booked a table for two to treat my daughter for her birthday. Waited 3 mins before anyone arrived to greet me, a group arrived after us and was seated immediately, while we were still left waiting 10mins later we walked out after no one came back with an update about our table. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to the food and drink.

The service from the waiters and waitresses was really good. Had to wait for the drinks as long as the food which may be a good thing rather than a bad thing lol. The food was not that bad. The food was like warm which isn’t too bad but for chickpea curry would rather it be hot. Having no bone jerk chicken at 1900 for a sit down meal is not ideal, had to go for boneless. I think that’s a popular Caribbean dish that needs to be ready at all times and shouldn’t really run out. Jerk could be a bit hotter. Overall the experience was good. The food was really good. The music was good. The vibe was good. It can get hype in there from some people but good vibe. It was recommended by a friend who doesn’t really eat out a lot so I think for her to recommend it, it’s really good.

The service was super slow. The food came quick once ordered, but we sat down for 30 minutes before we were even asked what we wanted to drink let alone eat. Our cocktails came about 20 minutes into us eating, so our food was almosy done. Then the bill took a further 25 minutes to come after we asked for it. I was planning to have a large birthday of around 25-30 people here, but after eating there as of recently, i really dont have the confidence they will be able to cope.

I have no real complaints, the rum cocktails was how i liked it, the fish with ocra and rice and peas was tasty, the service was good. My only complaint is the fish and sweet chilli sauce starter, the chef cooks the fish perfectly the fish is soft and flaky and melts in your mouth, please don't hide or take the taste away from the fish by covering it with so much sweet chilli sauce. I'll be going back again.

Really enjoyed this place. Atmosphere was good. Staff friendly and ' smiley '..always a plus.... Unable to give a 6 as waiting time increased as the place got busier. On arrival was attended to immediately then after food was served at one point was waiting for over ten minutes for our drinks. Was told there would be music at 10..we were still waiting for music to start at 11 so we left as we had to vacate our table so was just hanging around. As I said..nothing major. Food was fantastic! Shame about the waiting times but once that is sorted it's definitely a 6.

The terrible service overshadows the quality of the food. The bar staff have no customer service skills at all neither does the host (or what appeared to be the manager). The waiters and waitresses were so nice and caring however this wasn't represented across the board. Every request was taken with a frown and the unprofessionalism that was shown was indeed very terrible. Food: 4/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 1/5

1. Not good for large bookings as there are only booth which seat 4-6 people or single tables which seat 4. 2. Food was not above expectations overall rating for food is 5. 4. The food came out warm/cold. 5. The alcohol cocktails were very weak. 6. The staff were friendly Concept of the restaurant is nice but still think it could do with overall improvement. This was my first time visiting so will maybe try and go back in a few months as this could have been an off day for them.

Food was nice but took over an hour and a half to arrive. Shocking! There weren't even that may people in there to warrant that level of service time. We asked 3 times when our food was coming and each time we got ''shortly''. Then when the food did come it didn't all come out together. My plantain came when I had nearly finished my meal! Unacceptable.

Food is amazing, but service is too slow, It took 15 minutes before they took our drinks order, then another 20 minutes before the drinks arrived. We ordered 2 platters between 6 of us, these arrived but then we had to wait ages for the side plates and even then the waitress only bought 5.

The buy one get on free on cocktails all night especially on a Sat was very good. We had the platter which we shared between 2 people and a side order of plantain. The chicken wings which came in 3 different varieties were great aswell as the festival. The fried cassava (bammy) was cut a bit thick so for me would have been better thinner and crispier and the plantain was a bit hard, dont think the plantain was ripe enough. The music played was sooo old school it was the best!!
