We arrived and seated, 35 minutes later we had to ask for someone to come and take our order. Otherwise great food / value as always.
We introduced our USA friends here and they soaked up the food and said great yard food. As if in Jamaica
Enjoyed our food very much. Tasty and as always so delicious.
The food was ok but it took over a hour to get to the table.
Food is sooooo tasty. Highly recommend. Cocktails are amazing 😀
We was told that the baked fish that my friend ordered would take 20/30 minuted to make. When we queried after 45 minutes how much longer, we was was told that it would taken another 20 minutes. At this time we had seen people come in after us and had eaten and left. When my food arrived which was jerk chicken and rice was cold. This means that it was sitting on the side in the kitchen for a reasonable amount of time. The food was given back to me after clearly being warmed up in the microwave. I have been here before and the service was slow then and still is. wont be in a rush to come back. Amazing cocktails though!
The waiter could of smiled more, and listened more, but he was young so I'll let it slide, food was very good and my date was happy, so we good.
It was nice and food was ok... I would recommend and could see myself visiting again
I went out for my birthday and I was very unhappy with the service I had 8 people that ate meals and sides, 6 had cocktails and 2 had beer but we was give a bill of £536. When going through the bill as it did not seem right we noticed most the things was doubled or added on thankfully we noticed. When speaking with the manager it took them some time to sort it out and the bill went down to £247 what a big difference to think most my friends was ready to pay the £536, for food and drink we didn’t have. This is not the first time that has happened. Not impressed at all.
Service very slow. In fact waited for over half an hour for our starters. Do not go there if you have a tolerance to certain food eg rice, as you cannot substitute the rice for something else, it will cost you extra. Had a young waiter who was friendly
Great each and every time I visit, food is perfect
the food was lovely but the service was poor, they got the order wrong and staff didn't know what ingredients where used in dishes, very bad when people have allergies. its a shame because this place could be great. very disappointing
Staff was friendly and attentive. Toilets was a long way downstairs could do with a bit of up dating .
I love the atmosphere also the food is and staff
Good service, polite and friendly staff and did not have to wait long for the food.
always a good time had at the Dutchie. Its one of my favorite places to go as the food ambiance and cocktails are always guaranteed 10/10/10/10. I have heard the reviews on poor wait times however i have not experience this myself. The food came out promptly and the waiter was excellent. I would say to anyone whos had delays before, go back, get coctails, at the bar take your time have patience and eat and order. Part of the Dutchies charm is food cooked to order so i for one do not want my curried shrimp or steam fish and bammy rushed lol. Go and enjoy. i cannot recommend it enough!!! Its all about the 'Real Jamaican experience after all' :-)
The food was delicious and very fillings very pleasant .
Best Caribbean food in South London with proper cocktails at good value!
Never been to Dutchie before, I thought the wait was too long for the food over 90 minutes. When the food did come the rice was dry and cold. Also the glass of wine came with a fly in it and my colleague did not want to complain as it would take too long to get served again. Wanted to have Dessert however as it takes too long to get served, had to go elsewhere for this. Shame as it seemed a nice place, just needs more staff and less flies.
Had to wait an hour for the food, pretty long!! (-_-)..
Amazing food, good atmosphere and the staff were really nice and attentive
Ordered the jerk wings which took forever to arrive and when they finally arrived they were dry! As we were sharing and ate 3 of them i was not expecting a refund but just passed feedback that they were dry and overcooked the waitress didnt even apologise or even acknowledge the feedback. She then brought the bill and expected me to pay straight away without me checking it or calculating solit as there was few of us. Dont get why she was rushing us as restaurant not busy. Apart from that cocktails and curry goat were amazing. Based on negatives nit sure will go back
Me my husband and our daughter came to have our, the waiter was very polite and the food was also very nice we all enjoy and also have a good time will recommend it to my friends and family
orders came late, food was running out, was a ok evening but not in any hurry to go back :/
Wonderful loved the service love even more the food, definitely going back.
We keep going back, because it’s good food at the right price.
never again, staff over worked, food was warm,no disrespect intended, and no offence meant
Bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews about waiting times, however we got lucky timing was good, food was excellent will definitely be returning.
Great food, good service, looking forward to my next visit.
Overall the experience was good. Most of the food tasted really good however two portions out of four of the rice and peas smelt and tasted burnt. The portion sizes were good and cocktails great.
I visited with my friend and our two young babies. The staff were very accommodating to us and provided excellent customer service. Our meals were delicious and the portion sizes were great. I was recommended this restaurant by a few people and I will now recommend it too. This is definitely the spot for authentic Caribbean food, nice cocktails and a warm atmosphere.
I brought my Cousin's & Sister's with me. We tried various dishes & cocktails & everyone was extremely happy with everything.
I’m disappointed. Food was not good I’m not going back
2nd visit to The Dutchie, it'll be my last. Time is precious and I would rather share it where service is more pleasant. The staff seem so unhappy, can we inject them with some fun and charisma or is this asking too much? The music is too loud and compromises intimacy over table conversation or should we dance in our seat whilst eating akee & akee as I fished for my saltfish. I'll continue to support independent businesses and pay for authenticity, not shortcuts and stretched cheesy sauce for the Mac n cheese.
Great food and drink the Nanny cocktail and Bob Marley was to die for, the jerk platter with festivals , bammy and coleslaw was out of this world. We followed this with a jek burger, jerk chicken with rice and peas and a cuury goay with roti and mac and cheese. I would highly recommend it. Music could have been a bit louder but it was only the afternoon. Can't wait to see the vibes on a weekend as we were unable to book.
Another great experience at Dutchies. Great food and great drinks.
Great experience! Nice girls night out... cocktails AMAZING. Overall 10 out of 10.
Great food, good service and fantastic value for money, worth a visit for good Jamaican food
Lovely place food and people. Can't wait to go back.
Very nice food! Would recommend to everybody I know. X
Lovely food! Service could be a bit quicker but overall brilliant
Can't believe I haven't been to this gem in Croydon before!! Lovely service, great and plentiful plates of food and awesome cocktails. Coming back soon!
Lovely food, and great customer service. I will return. X
I love the food and the atmosphere there. Can't wait to go back.
Took new friends they loved it. Looking forward to the next time
Absolutely stunning! The "realest", most authentic tasting Jamaican food I have tasted in the UK so far! ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌
Food was fantastic and service was good loved the dj...need to make into a late night spot
The service was extremely slow but it was worth waiting for as the food and drinks were delicious. If you are prepared for a long wait then it's a nice place to go to.
We use to visit this restaurant a few times a year and I must say they are going down hill very very fast. Salty food. Very sweet rice. Curry prawns was a waste, not worth the money as for the hellshire shimps. . .we are speechless. If it was like this when we 1st discovered them we would not have came back. Dutchie step your game back up. ..
Lovely service and tasty starters. I would definitely recommend a visit.
