The Crown Inn serves good quality food at lunch. The sandwiches are substantial and there are good choices of fillings. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is welcoming.
Lovely food which was both timely and substantial in size. Unfortunately the weather was against us, meaning the kids couldn't play outside so there was much for them to do. Just a short hop from the motor way, it's well worth the diversion. Will definitely be going back when the weather forecast is better :-)
Possibly the best roast dinner I've ever had.The beef just melted in my mouth the mash potato was buttery and very smooth gravy was silk like and full of flavour
The Crown has friendly service and good food. The half lunch options are a good choice. Great value for money. Vast amount of gins on offer too!
Really enjoyed it as it was a lovely restaurant and the food was okay. Good service however manager was quite abrupt and rude throughout our meal.
lovely meal, good service didn't have to wait long for our food , great that they serve food earlier than they used to ,we don't like eating late
We always have a warm and cheery welcome when we arrive at The Crown Inn They serve a good hearty Sunday Lunch usually 2 roast meats then other options including vegetarian. The waiting staff are lovely and attentive but not intrusive. Likewise the bar staff . The whole experience is great and surroundings are well maintained and very clean will recommend anyone to try this place 5*.
Really good enjoyed the food and the service will go back again. Service was friendly not rushed but felt we had plenty of time between courses
A lovely meal. Food is made to order and is well worth that little extra wait. Staff very polite and friendly. Highly recommend for a nice pub tea.
The food quality and presentation was very good. Friendly staff in a welcoming environment. Could have achieved a higher score if we hadn't waited an hour and half for our food. Staff should have communicated reason for delay but didn't until we complained. We will definitely go again for the food and hope our last experience was a one off.
First visit to the Crown Inn and the menu choice was varied. Ordered a salad for the main course which was good value for money and very enjoyable.
Good food, good atmosphere with attentive staff that made you feel very welcome and not rushed. First time I had been there but will probably will not be the last.
As usual great food and very good service. Best to book in advance as the Crown is getting very popular, also has a very nice pub garden.
Our first visit here and definitely not our last! We had the Sunday lunch and it was beautiful, food tasted lovely and fresh. The portions were large so after a starter and a main we decided not to go for the sweet, next time we'll leave out the starter 😊 The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting and the staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back....
We booked last minute and we were so glad we went. The Sunday lunch was very good and the meat melted in your mouth, l had the pork and my husband said that the beef was just as good. We have been before but never on a Sunday so we can highly recommend their weekly menu too. The landlord and staff made us feel very welcome, we will be going again and soon.
Nice fish and chips. Quiet atmosphere. Very close to us. Plenty of parking. Friendly bar staff. Greeted on arrival by a warm welcome. Not many dining on the night we ate. Lovely garlic mushrooms to start, super tasty. Thank. You
Nice pub and food, relaxed atmosphere. Will be nice to visit in summer lovely outdoor area. Can imagine that it will be cosy in winter. Will be returning.
Many years since last visit which was a good experience. This time not so good.Staff friendly but long wait for meals. Meals were average pub food. The big let down was that a group came in with 4 large wolfhound type dogs and although in the bar area the smell was not acceptable to people eating meals. We spoke to the staff when paying the bill. They had had previous complaints and said they would pass our comments on to the manager. Will not recommend this pub to anyone and will certainly not visit again. Kind regards, John and Margaret.
The Crown Inn has a good food menu and great choices. The pub has a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We will definitely go again.
First time here & it definitely won't be the last. Great meal & plenty of it plus good beer in pleasant surroundings. Will be coming again.
Several friends here in east Leeds have been recommending your good food and I thought I would bring my husband and two friends for a trial run for Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed and had a wonderful meal. It was helpful for the ladies to be told by the licensee that they have "smaller portions"on offer for the roast dinner which was a very generous helping anyway - but not outfacing. We spoke to the Licensee and his daughter; all very friendly and we shall certainly be calling again. I did book on line. We may have a run over week-days and see what is on offer then! Thank you very much. Marjorie and Bill, Templenewsam.
Welcoming staff and the food was excellent. The pub looks like it had been newly renovated. I can recommend the Fish pie and the Steak and Ale pie. A lovely evening.
First Lovely Sunday lunch here with generous portions, fast friendly service, relaxed cosy atmosphere and very accommodating with us and our 5 month old. Definitely recommend
Lovely food and friendly staff in a nice cosy setting. Staff left myself and my friend alone to chat and we weren't hassled at all. We would definitely go again.
There was a good choice on the menu and the service was very attentive. The food was well cooked, tasty and piping hot. I would definitely go to The Crown again.
excellent food and staff very helpful. had a lovely evinging.will definitely return.
food and service excellent, this must be the 20th time we have been there in the last 12 months and the consistency of food and service cannot be faulted
An excellent meal with good service and just the right atmosphere for a family gathering. The menu was varied and the host, Pete, attended to our party in a congenial and helpful manner. Highly recommended for a great meal out in pleasant surroundings.
Not cheap (£10.95 for a Sunday dinner main course) but well worth the money. Generous portions and everything freshly made and delicious, with a good, small menu for the kids. The main man behind the bar was very friendly, as were all the waitresses. Nice surroundings / decor too, and the beer was lovely (Tim Taylor's Landlord). We will definitely be going back.
Excellent food and good smaller portion menu for an elderly lady in our party. Handicapped accessibility very good with very good accessible toilet with grab bars. Staff very friendly and helpful.
excellent service first time we have been ,not dissapointed we will be coming back and bring rest of family great yorkshires and good to see extra gravy without having to ask first class.
Sunday lunch was the best we had had in a long time. Thankfully we did not order a starter as the mains were great portion sizes Pub is nicely decorated and staff friendly and welcoming.
We have been several times before. Staff are friendly and polite, food is good, the hardest part is deciding what to have as there is so much good choice. We will be going back.
Excellent Sunday lunch as ever. The rest of the menu is great too. Made to feel a welcome guest and attentive and pleasant staff, particularly nice that the waiting staff check everything is okay without pestering you every few minutes.
After a drink in the lovely Beer Garden we had a wholesome Sunday lunch in a lovely atmosphere. Portion sizes were spot on. Excellent value for money
The staff were excellent very attentive and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was hot, tasty overall excellent. We will be going back again and will recommend to family and friends
A really lovely meal. Tasty flavoursome and hearty. This wasn't some filling cheap warm serving it was hot, the veg was firm and the fish pie was absolutely full of fish. Very good value for money
Very friendly welcome by all the staff. We were staying at the hotel across the road and didn't want to eat there so found this pub and decided to take a chance. The pub meal was good for a pub and reasonably priced. Good choice and plenty of specials on the board... I'd recommend trying this place !
Best quality ingredients used. Excellent service. Cannot rate it highly enough 11 out of 10. Clean toilets, and unusually a disabled toilet too. Will return
Lovely food and friendly service, would definitely recommend! We went as party of 6 adults and 1 child everyone was well catered for and came out full!
Was a great experience and nice atmosphere to relax very friendly staff and easy to find, nice and clean toilets and very funny manager x
This lovely place always has a warm, relaxed family friendly atmosphere. The food is simple yet delicious and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Nice village pub with good selection of beers and a decent wine list. Four of us and a toddler had a Sunday lunch. We all had different starters, but all went for the roast beef. Food was good and plentiful, and, unlike the usual carvery, you get table service, which is friendly and efficient; starters. though, were a bit ordinary and overpriced. The dining areas are reasonably spacious, and certainly not crowded, even when the place is busy (but note that car parking is somewhat limited). Outside, there is a terrace and beer garden, and then a big grassy area and a play area with various bits of climbing equipment which was a winner for our 2-year-old.
Good menu selection at a very fair price. Pleasant surroundings and polite efficient service. Food was good and well presented. What more can one ask for?
Lovely food, great service, lovely little place nice indoors and out. Great portions and good value for money. Limited by the menu only serve a Sunday menu with set options didn't offer enough variety especially for my partner who is dairy and onion free due to a dietary condition which was a real shame. It didn't make this clear online if I had realised when i read the menus online we wouldn't have gone.
Our visit for Sunday Lunch was quite pleasant. We were served promptly and our meal was well presented and hot. The pork was delicious but the veg spoilt the meal there was not enough for the two of us and white cabbage broccoli ,and a few carrots is not very imaginary ! The staff and Landlord were very pleasant.
Good pub food, not overpriced with pretty decent service, only tried the Sunday lunch menu portion sizes were good, not tried starters or puddings so can't comment on those
The Crown is a lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff. The food is fantastic and excellent value for money. The garden is great too, with a nice climbing frame area for the kids.
Staff were very accommodating despite a late reservation, food (3 adults meals and two kids meals) were superb. Overall a very nice Sunday lunch !
Excellent food, a good choice of drinks and a nice Atmosphere in the Crown, the staff were all friendly and the beer garden is brilliant.
