Excellent service very tasty food all at reasonable price. We will certainly return
Excellent staff and great food well worth a visit we will be returning
We'll be back! We love the Crate and Apple for a drink and for a meal,
Excellent lunch all round, good choice of both food and drink, tasty food - especially fish and chips - and promptly served by friendly staff. Will be back.
Food was nice once it arrived -50 mts after ordering , and had to ask for drinks twice - waitress didn’t come to our table to ask at all . Spoiled by dreadful service .
Nice roast lamb dinner and fruit crumble pudding, and good service.
Okay covers it …. Roast beef, I had one slice and a thin slither of meat … gluten free option just means items removed from your meal (Yorkshire and stuffing) and no extras added for the same price? which for a man’s dinner made a small meal. Many local restaurants offer alot more GF options now so due to lack of choice so we chose not to have a pudding, and not to return. All Young polite staff but no clear management/ passion or care? Clean and pleasant setting.
The staff were welcoming and polite. I felt valued as a customer
Pleasant and attentive staff, good atmosphere in the pub, decent food well served.
A nice place with extremely lovely and friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. Overall the Sunday lunch was very good.... swede, broccoli, carrots - all cooked to perfection. Yorkshire pud was good too. Roast potatoes were too large and not at all crispy; they'd have benefitted from being cut up to a smaller more elegant size and then roasted longer to make them crispy. The parsnip too was under-roasted. Beef was ok but quite well done... no choice of pink-in-the-middle ! And the chef went overboard with the gravy... the entire meal was practically floating in gravy! Perhaps you should consider serving your gravy in little jugs ? Then we can help ourselves the quantity that suits us? However , overall it was a nice experience.
Lamb good, venison chewy and a little overdone, chicken dry and needed some sauce, mashed potatoes were lik e cutting dough. Wine excellent!
Really nice food, good service, can’t fault this place, third visit and will definitely be back again. Interesting menu with some classics and a few twists and more unusual items, we had a really tasty Sumac and Roasted Cauliflower soup and a Crayfish Smoked Trout and Avocado salad followed by 2 roast dinners .. .. not cheap but worth that but extra for the quality in our opinion
Roast was dry, jus extra thin and runny, ham, egg and chips good
Lovely Sunday lunch for 5, great little pub, much better than average food all cooked fresh, nice menu with good variety and dog friendly to boot, not the cheapest but we thought it decent value and worth that bit extra.
Warm welcome , friendly staff, good portions , good menu , lovely beer, nice decor - perfect for pre theatre lunch, thank you
The food was lovely and service was great would recommend
Great food, Sunday roasts were fab especially the roast potatoes! Staff were polite & friendly, very attentive.
Had a really good meal. Service was good and staff very friendly
Starters were really good, roast was OK, but too many dogs
I don't think we will be coming back. What a soul-less place, zero atmosphere and should waiting staff be chewing spearmint gum while serving plates of food? No excuse for the very slow service as there was only one other table eating and about three bar drinkers. Food was well presented, tasty and clearly well made, but spoiled by the front of house staff.
We had a roast dinner, one small and one large. The small dinner was good value and quite substantial. However we felt the food was not hot enough only Luke warm which spoilt the dinning experience
the food was amazing and so was the service... defo worth visiting this place
a great place with great food and drink service was superb too
Food very good not a Massive menu but all done at a very good Standard Staff polite And very helpful
Wonderful pub, serving wonderful food. If you are ever in Chichester, this is the place to go!
Sadly a very poor experience- noisy, slow food delivery and very large portions - not the restaurant it was.
Service very good, wait time a little to long we waited an hour for our lunch, food was excellent
Starter was good had rack of ribs for main dried up and couldn’t eat , big portions
To start Lisa is an excellent manager of this restaurant with pub facilities. All her staff are efficient, polite and friendly. The new chef has produced a high quality Sunday lunch cooked to perfection. I wish them every success post lockdown.
Very nice Burger and Fish & Chips -Good service and Food
Very helpful staff as I had a friend with me in a wheelchair, I thought the menu was a little limited which was perhaps to be expected as there was only one vegetarian option but presumably things will improve as time goes on.
Lovely! Great to be able to eat indoors again. Lovely service, lovely people & great food.
Wonderful food and wonderful service would definitely return here again
Food was lovely, though the minted peas were a bit dry. Service was ok. One member of staff was very attentive, the other very aloof.
Located at a table near a door that opened onto the garden every few seconds; quite cold and uncomfortable. Tables are very low and no room to put legs underneath. Staff were polite and efficient but no interest in guests by the management. Excessive noise from drinking groups and so much more a pub atmosphere than a restaurant in spite of the prices. Tasty food from a simple menu.
