I have eaten here a few times , it's always a lovely place to eat and the food is very nice, No complaints from me

Great atmosphere, delicious food and excellent wine, great service very friendly staff always feel welcome. Our favorite restaurant. Better than a lot of top restaurants in London.

The service and decor was excellent. However the ribeye was over seasoned and the duck was tough. The dessert specifically the sticky toffee was very sodgy.

We had a fantastic meal, what brilliant value for £19.95 a head! We received a warm welcome, had good advice about our wine choice and thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. Lovely ambience in the restaurant.

Myself and a few friends recently visited The Chophouse for Sunday lunch. We had the most amazing and scrumptious Sunday lunch we've had in years. All washed down by a fine Malbec - at just the right temperature. The service was fantastic too; not rushed and very well looked after. A lovely afternoon was had by all. Thank you to Rob and his team. We can't wait to go back for more culinary delights.

Fabulous food menu really varied there is a good set menu but we ordered off the main food and it was delicious lovely atmosphere and worth the gym the next day :-)

Visited on a Tuesday night. Received excellent service. The restaurant was full and the ambience wonderful. Food was delightful - the haddock goujons simply melted in the mouth. Love this place.

Lovely afternoon with bottomless prosecco and fabulous vegetarian meal too!! I eat meat but the veg option was yummy! Will definitely return yet again to best restaurant in Braintree!!

Food was fantastic, generous portion sizes, we had a lovely round table which worked perfectly as there was 5 of us, staff very friendly and helpful, can't fault it.

Took our friends who were staying with us from Northumberland.Impressed with service, lovely food & even food allergies were not a problem.Very friendly and attentive staff made a very good atmosphere.

Great cocktails and attention to detail. Amazing smoked mash :) fantastic service would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Restaurant was packed but noisy.

My Sunday starter of mussels were cooked perfectly. Veg really good, although I found having all three meats beef, chicken & pork together a bit strange. Will come back and try mid week menu.

The meal was very good, the food was lovely. But unfortunately, my meal was dropped on the floor as it was being brought to our table. My table had been served theirs already, so it meant that I was awaiting my food whilst they were waiting to eat theirs. (Very polite) there was a delay before we were told and I just feel they could have told us immediately to save any food going cold and they could have offered some kind of gift be this a free drink or some small gesture.

Lovely restaurant with amazing local food. We went here for my birthday lunch and wasn't disappointed. Great service from all staff and they were more than accommodating for my 3yr old son. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had the chicken pie, pastry was dreadful, even after complaining my sister wasn't offered an alternative neither was it taken off the bill despite it being obvious that she couldn't eat it. Wasn't impressed with lunchtime menu very disappointed! Also had to ask where our mains were and they weren't busy! Shame as we had a great Sunday lunch in the summer

Excellent food and service will definitely be returning. Charming and quaint. Not ideal location as only small amount of parking outside but still worth a visit.

Limited lunch time menu staff were friendly but food was just average. From the other reviews I was expecting something much better, would not bother going again.

Lovely food and great service! Had a lovely family Sunday roast. Recommend the Braintree Chophouse for a relaxed Sunday lunch. My daughter even are the cabbage it was that good but cheesy leeks were her favourite.

Good service, limited menu choices which wasn't great when they had run out of starters and puddings, making the menu even smaller. Staff having smoking breaks then serving us wasn't great either.

Fantastic food, great service and lovely cosy but spacious atmosphere and setting. Staff very friendly and efficient, manager took good care of us. Particularly recommend their mid-week set menu, which is fantastic value for money, and had delicious starter, mains and deserts choices on it. No criticisms to offer at all! We'll be back!

Nice ambiance in restaurant, staff really friendly and chatty. Food was really good, both myself and wife had the beef brisket, the meat just melted in your mouth and the sauce was to die for! We will return again for sure

We really love this restaurant, service, food, ambiance, friendly owners and staff. This is the place we always are sure to take our out of town guests. Be sure to try there music nights which are really good too!

Excellent meal, excellent service and excellent experience. Food was superb so difficult to choose with so much to tempt you. Service in this restaurant is so good, friendly, attentive but not suffocating.

Amazing food. Nice décor, modern and quirky Service was patchy, hard to get someone's attention which in a small restaurant feels poor. Awful table, popped under the stairs, not really enough room for it there. I felt in the way the whole evening. I would go back again because the food was so good, will be making sure we are seated somewhere else.

Was ok, very small table food was nice enough but very over priced. If anyone had been to smiths in ongar this is a much nicer restaurant for the same money. I doubt we would go back again. Nice to see places like this trying in Braintree.

following our visit we would like to say that the service and food was very nice, great to see a busy restaurant, The menu is not massive but a good choice of dishes.

The service was excellent and the waitress was very attentive and helpful. It was early and we were the only ones in there at the time. Good food and didn't have to wait too long. The place soon filled up and seemed to be very popular. Seemed very busy for a Wednesday evening in Braintree.

I went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing big plates of gorgeous homemade food and the desert of sticky toffee sundae was superb! The service was excellent the waitress couldn't do enough for us. Excellent value for money as well

Best Sunday roast I've had in a long time and great value for 3 course. Excellent food and service could not fault anything , will visit again.

It is such a cozy restaurant, the whole team are helpful and very friendly. The food is delicious, the menu changes with the seasons too.
