Excellent food and excellent service as always. Best restaurant in Braintree . The chef is always happy to go that extra mile to please. Highly recommend

Food was very good! We had the baked feta with lavender and crusty bread for starters and the fillet for main, it was delicious. The only downside for me, because the restaurant was busy, it was very, very hot inside although it was 4 degrees outside. We sat on the first floor and it wasn’t as hot as the ground floor. The guy preparing the coquetels was dripping down with sweat.

Amazing food, very attentive waiting staff. Nice touch for the owner to come over after the meal to check all was ok. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I love lavender ice-cream but lavender with feta? Who'd have thought it? Delicious! Celeriac mash definitely a winner but missed something green on my plate so pinched some broccoli from my friend. All in all, another great meal at the Chophouse!

Lovely cozy restaurant well set out. Food was really good, reasonably priced. Great porn star martinis. Excellent service. First visit with friends, will definitely go back.

They were very attentive, I was there with my elderly nan and they took great care to place us somewhere easily accessible. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it.

Food exceptional, staff very friendly and attentive. The only negative I have on this visit (I have been many times) was an unfortunate incident in the toilet, hence the score of 5. Need to point out it was no fault of the staff but a light malfunction!!!

Another excellent meal. Well looked after and the food was superb. Scallops and steak were really good. Over indulged with the cheeseboard but it was worth it.

Went with a friend and we both loved the atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We weren't rushed and were even offered the dessert menu so we could decide whether to go for a starter or save our appetites for pudding. The food was excellent. The greens were to die for! Would highly recommend.

Lovely food, service and atmosphere. We really felt at home. There was a power cut part way through the meal, but all was calm! We will be back.

the chop house is a great restaurant, the food as always was really nice. my husbands steak was cooked to perfection, and the staff are always very welcoming.we would recommend anyone to try it.

Booking was really easy, Sunday lunch was the best I had ever had in a restaurant and the staff were warm and friendly. Cannot wait to go again.

We always enjoy our visit to this restaurant, lovely atmosphere for couples and larger groups, the food is great, well cooked and served up in real size portions.

We had been meaning to visit The Chophouse for ages, and after their Sunday roast was recommended to us by a friend, we decided it’s about time we went. We’re so glad we did. The service was exceptional, food delicious and plentiful and the decor very tastefully done. We look forward to returning to sample their weekday/Saturday menu soon, but if their Sunday roast is anything to go by, then we won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended you try The Chophouse.

slightly disappointed by the lack of choice compared to the website menu, as I was looking forward to Scallops.....but the food we had was presented well and was very tasty.....pleasant and friendly front of house....will definitely be returning.

A lovely relaxed atmosphere where you are not rushed to eat. The food is always outstanding, I have not had a bad meal here ever. Perfect venue for a date night or gathering with friends.

We had the Chop House Sunday roast and it was fantastic. The wine was good as was the service and ambience of the restaurant. Have been here before and always have had good food and service. Would definitely recommend.

The food was great but as it was busy, the waitresses were stretched and struggled to give the level of service expected. It was Christmas so they can be forgiven and I will give them another chance to shine.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared with a good selection and the wine list is quite extensive. Everything was reasonably priced for the quality and standard. We were pleased to see that the restaurant was as busy as on our previous visits as there is nothing worse than seeing a good restaurant not being supported. Enjoyable evening.

Requested for a private seating as it was my wedding anniversary, but nothing was done and no communication and no reference to it on the day but food was good service was great I was just a bit disappointed because I wanted the night to be special.

Fantastic food, surroundings and staff. Best eating place in our area. Rob and his team are brilliant cannot recommend it highly enough. Although no specific children's menu, they will cater to their likes.
