The pub itself is super lovely. Few things let it down. The food was not up to scratch... the parpadelle pasta was dry and didn’t have enough flavour... the pear desert was left untouched as it was full of syrupy sugar and subsequently taken off the bill. There was a terribly behaved dog that was allowed to stay inside and bark for a full 30min. It was so bad and distracting I almost left. Nobody did anything about it despite complaints . The dog was put out in the garden where it barked even louder. Upon closing we were asked for Last orders which we took and then had no time to drink Them. The pub lights were turned off and music stopped making it very embarrassing to sit there with a drink. Not a great end.
very nice and cosy pub, where families and usuals clients gather. The food is really nice, some flavours of association are unexpected and work brilliantly. The staff is very attentive and go above and beyond.
Amazing fresh local food Friendly service, cosy atmosphere Definitely recommend
great little gem of a restaurant tucked away - very relaxed and good food!
Gorgeous atmosphere in the dark cosy pub. Food delicious, service a bit slow, but worth waiting for. We also adore the staff here.
excellent, my fav place at the moment in London delicious in everyday
A very small gripe - it was a bit hot! The radiator under my seat was on full blast and could have been turned down a bit. Otherwise everything was very good.
Love this place, chilled and can bring the dog. Food good and atmosphere is relaxed....perfect for Sunday lunch.
very good service, nice atmosphere and the food was different and more interesting than the regular 'gastro' food one finds everywhere now. Will definitely come back, especially in the Summer as it has a lovely garden.
Great atmosphere and the pub is interestingly decorated. Very 1970’s. Fish and hummus were great. Rest was average. Roast beef was nice and rare but cut too thin.
An enjoyable evening of food, but the service could have learnt the wines better on the list rather than guessing what we had selected and having to go back to the bar to reselect. Don’t shy away from this local gem. It’s well worth a visit for food and and drink.
Great Sunday lunch! Consistently one of the best pubs to eat at in the area! Lovely wine (house Sicilian wine is excellent). Beer garden perfect for summer!
Perfect evening with friends, we arrived 1/2 hour early and yet allowed us to sit at our booked table. Excellent food and very friendly staff.
Lovely food and prompt service. Highly recommend the onglet steak and chips. Very noisy party in last night so it was a bit loud, but pub was warm and cosy on a dark February night
Great pub/restaurant with fresh food, comfortable environment and friendly staff. We always go there when we want to celebrate an event or in need of a decent meal.
Lovely staff, excellent food, would highly recommend ! We took our 8 month year old baby and stayed for 4 hours as it was so relaxed and fun
Fantastic food, interesting menu with drink suggestions - great atmosphere and roaring fire on a chilly Sunday. I had the pheasant which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Recommended.
Food took way too long to come, service inattentive and the beef served to me was inedible. Shame as the venue/menu good (potentially). Deduction made from bill helped but doesn’t really compensate for the disappointing experience
A nice little gem on a quiet street. Very relaxed atmosphere in the pretty garden. Staff is friendly and food is delicious. Definitely will come back again.
Great food - good beers - lovely atmosphere with candles on tables both inside and outside. Menu had good dishes, COD was fresh, onglet steak and chips perfect. (Homemade horseradish amazing)
The Carpenter's Arms delightful walled garden is the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch. The menu is imaginative, the wine list extensive & the service pleasant.
Good food as always, the Onglet was delicious. Very good value wine, delicious! The negroni needed a little bit of work, but overall very good
We all had a great meal, kids loved the steak and chips. Very lovely food. Everyone enjoyed their food. Highly recommended! Good selection of beers too
Fabulous stylish but understated location. Superb food, brilliant combinations and subtle flavours. Really well chosen wine selection although I knew very few to start with. Really improved and excellent service.
The Carpenters is a real gem. It offers excellent food at a fantastic price. Lovely service (and a great welcome) in the most gorgeous garden setting.
As ever gorgeous fresh interesting delicious food. Lovely lovely evening in the candle lit garden. And the staff were great. We will be back :)
I just love this pub! Beautiful garden, great food, great hospitality! A hidden gem in Hammersmith. The food hits the spot every time. A must visit.
My first impression was it looked extremely shabby - I know this is a trend at the moment but this was not shabby chic! I ordered 2 courses from the menu only to be told they didn't have them - it would have saved a lot of time if this had been told to me when I was first handed the menu. I have to say that the food I ended up with was delicious and my husband's 2 courses were equally good. Rather pricey for fairly uncomfortable surroundings.
We have been going to the Carpenters Arms, in its various incarnations, for many years and, as locals, have great loyalty to it. A month or so ago we had a disappointing experience. Our experience last Saturday, 2 June 2018, was bad. In particular, but not limited to this, the pigeon I ordered was so tough I could not cut it with the knife provided. Even with the steak knife I then asked for, it was a question of tearing, rather cutting, the meat so tough was it - and much could not even be torn off. Asked by the waiter how our meal was, I replied that the pigeon was the toughest I had ever eaten - and that I had eaten a lot of them. The response was "I will tell the Chef". Maybe he did, but nothing else happened, no apology, no response, nothing. Very disappointing and lousy customer care. Farewell the Carpenters Arms.
Seriously nice food! Steak and chips was 10/10. Cooler than the average pub without being 'hipster'. Pretty outdoor area. Efficient and friendly service. Will definitely go back.
Delicious food and very helpful staff. Lovely setting to have lunch outside when the weather permits. Easy parking at weekend. Would definitely pay another visit.
It was very good but we had a long wait for our food. The garden area was very nice and there was a very good choice of wines.
Great local restaurant but let down on a lovely summer evening by really slow service and late food - promises of ‘7 minutes’ which became so much longer. Disappointing.
We left without being served after 45 mins. Kitchen was too busy and we tried to order twice but we’re asked to hang on until it slowed down.
Great food and service, lovely place, very charming with lots of space for a family reunion. I would recommend it to everyone, the outside space was awesome.
The most delicious Sunday lunch. Perfect wines, great atmosphere. Gorgeous garden. Our new most favourite place to be. We will be back to try the dinner menu or just for a pint.
Good seasonal food on a menu that seems to change quite regularly, friendly service, nice table next to the log fire. Been here a few times now and always reliably very good.
Gorgeous neighborhood restaurant worth travelling to. The service was attentive and friendly. The menu was great and well executed. A real gem in the blandness of Hammersmith
excellent food, friendly and effficient service sums it up so I don't really need to say any more thank you very much indeed bye bye
I have been here a few times, the food is always good, great atmosphere and generally efficient and friendly service. The clearing of finished dishes was a little slow this time and dessert was served when there were still rains from the main on the table but it was rectified as soon as we pointed it out. The spicy Bloody Mary was very good too!
Nice open fire place with some good pub food. The environment has a cozy feeling. We really enjoyed it! Will definitely visit again some day.
The setting is lovely in the garden but unfortunately staff not well trained and a bit surly and the food was poor. When we asked for dessert we were told the kitchen was too busy and it would take an hour. It has really gone downhill which is a real shame.
Lovely relaxed beer garden. Good selection on menu; grilled prawns were amazing. Pinot Grigio rose wine really good. Service was attentive. Fabulous night for 5 ladies who will definitely be back!
A delicious meal in delightful surroundings, really pretty garden, served by very pleasant staff. What more could you ask for on a Friday night. Thanks.
