Food was absolutely amazing and atmosphere was brilliant. Totally recommend to everyone.
Generous portions of tasty, well-presented food, served by friendly, attentive staff.
Food and cocktails were both delicious. Service was friendly and quick.
Very good vegan meal. The Black Forest was really nice.
Good value, lovely food and catered for a coeliac without fuss. Thank you for the birthday candle!
Excellent food as always. Fig version of Cullen skink superb and the lamb guest cut delicious
Lovely food and great service nice relaxing atmosphere good value for money.
Very nice food and very good service. a shame not more customers for a Friday lunch
loved all the vegan options! keep them up! thank you
Lovely new menu. I am a pescatarian so it would have been nice to know there was bacon in the peas but maybe it was in the description and I did not notice.
The Braided Fig is one of my favourite restaurants. It is consistently good regardless of how busy it is
Great food, great service, location easy to find. The restaurant was very cosy and noise levels were low. We discovered scirly, what a thing of beauty!
Food was really fantastic & the great atmosphere. Highly recommend
Good food, customer service and atmosphere. We will definitely come back.
Really excellent food. We will be back for sure soon
Great atmosphere and amazing Sunday roast. Food was incredible and tasty!
Good food friendly service and reasonably priced. I’d eat there again
Lovely food in a lovely setting, service very good. Would recommend,
Great food. Varied menu. Attentive staff. Will definitely go again.
We returned the burger and bun as they were black and the waitress was unsurprised at our request. A replacement was provided and we were charged rightly for one burger. The famous Sunday lunch appeared to contain frozen roasted potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding and mixed vegetables. The beef was not offered as rare, medium or well done. It was well cooked, nice but again didn't resemble a roast prepared from scratch by the chef. I had high hopes of a good lunch from the reviews but lunch was OK rather than delicious.
It was expensive for what it was: For the main course I had the Stir Fried Greens and it was drowned in sweet chilli sauce. It was like eating a slightly spicy bag of sugar. My partner had the Lentil Dahl (a favourite dish of hers) and she found it quite bland. Our starters of Popcorn Falafel were tasty, and I particularly liked the sirracha mayo. The service was quite slow due to their being only one waitress on, however this was probably because it was unexpectedly busy for a week night (a few large groups came in at the same time) so it would be unfair to mark down substantially due to that alone. For the overall meal experience it didn't feel like it was value for money. It might have just been a bad night?
Lovely meal and great service. I would highly recommend. See you again
Good food and wine. Ambience could be improved with some candles. Asked to move table as chair was wobbly and was told no as fully booked. Two issues with that - firstly by the time we left the non shoogily tables were still free, secondly even if they were booked we could have moved and the later guests could have taken our table. Service charge for table of 2 automatically added to bill which is unusual.
Food and service great. Could not fault them. Lovely atmosphere.
Staff were excellent. Food delicious. We had a lovely time
We had a very nice meal and the service was good
Buon cibo. Buona atmosfera. Servizio adeguato. Prezzi un po' alti.
Have been a few times and always had good service and excellent food. Would highly recommend
Lovely three course meal, friendly attentive staff, had a great lunch.
Food was amazing, we will definitely be back, really lovely place. Staff were very attentive. Enjoyed it very much.
Pleasant, welcoming staff and excellent food. Very varied menu that will cater for many tastes.
Nice restaurant decoration. Appeared to be understaffed. Lunch menu looked ok but food took a while to arrive and probably on a par with many pub lunches. Expensive for Mediocre food.
Excellent food beautifully presented., Also great Vegan selection. Staff very good.
Excellent food, friendly service and real taste to the carefully presented and conceived dishes.
The Braided Fig was a fantastic restaurant with a good atmosphere. For me, the only thing I think was lacking was real napkins rather than paper serviettes.
My wife and I were looking forward to dining at the Braided Fig as we hadn't been for a number of years. We had noticed that they were part of the Aberdeen Restaurant Week (ARW) 3 course for £20 deal so decided to book a table online for my wife's birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken to our table. When we were given the normal restaurant menu, I advised that we had booked for ARW. The waitress subsequently advised that this was only available for pre-bookings only. When I advised that we had pre-booked (I started my online booking by clicking on the Braided Fig restaurant link contained on the ARW website), I was advised that you have to put a note on your booking advising that is for the ARW deal. When I pointed out to the waitress that she essentially wasn't going to offer us the ARW menu for something as little as not clarifying this within the booking request, she confirmed this to be correct and advised that they were limited to the number of guests this deal could be offered to. For clarity, the restaurant was only around half full at this time. Following a minute or two of deliberation, we made the decision to finish our drinks and head somewhere else for dinner given what we felt was a very petty position taken by the restaurant. When we confirmed this to the restaurant and asked for our drinks bill, this was not challenged or queried whatsoever and the bill swiftly arrived. I find it difficult to understand why a small, privately owned, local restaurant would let paying customers depart for something as small and simple as a choice of menu. I'm happy to admit that going back through the booking process, it did ask you to confirm that the booking was for ARW and this is an error on my part. I still don't think however that this merits the response we received from the restaurant. Its almost like they are grudgingly taking part in ARW given the lengths they are going to. Disappointed and to top it off, reluctantly had to pay £8 for a glass of warm Prossecco. On the positive note, we had a pleasant evening at Vovem around the corner where the service was excellent.
Good food, good value for money and not too big. We would recommend to others and will be back soon
Below average drinks and deserts, good starters & mains in Aberdeen restaurant week it was good value for money
Went there for £10pp Aberdeen restaurant week. Supposed to be highlighting what Aberdeen restaurants have to offer. Even that was too much for what we got. Heinz tomato soup by the taste and deep fried breadcrumb fish sticks in a stodgy roll with bit of lettuce and tartar sauce. We also got the £10 level of service compared to the couple next to us who weren’t there for restaurant week. Been here quite a lot over the years but I don’t think we’ll be back again. I would have been embarrassed to serve that at home to be honest.
Food was amazing! Service good, restaurant became a bit loud at times.
Fantastic service, would recommend and definitely intend to go back soon soon!
Food was delicious and service excellent! Will be recommending and visiting again.
Incredible food, and fantastic service. Can’t wait to come back and sample some more of the menu
Lovely afternoon spent with my best friend of 56 years. The staff were absolutely lovely, the service was attentive but not intrusive, and the food was delicious, some of the best we’ve had in ages. Thank you for making our day out special.
Fantastic menu. Want to eat everything so will have to revisit. Beautiful restaurant.
I ended up changing the timing of our table of 6 three times due to changing plans for my son’s graduation and the staff were so lovely about it even though it must have been very frustrating.
Nice place, very good food and staff were helpful and accommodating with our food intolerances.
Excellent food and service made for a truly enjoyable dinner
