I went with three others to the Bolingbroke on a Tuesday evening on their August 50% off food offer! The atmosphere was both modern and cosy, lovely decor and nice ambience. There was a great choice on the menu, approx 5-6 choices for each course and all the food was tasty and well executed. Service was pleasing and the whole experience was great, worth repeating. The price was incredibly reasonable on the offer but wouldn't be unreasonable even when the offer is not available. I look forward to going back. Parking was easy too after 6.30pm !
I love the Bolingbroke for the atmosphere and their huge Sunday roasts. The wine list could be improved. Needs more bold, smooth reds! Can get very noisy in the back room if the decorations aren't up (which absorb some of the sound).
When we arrived the table was not ready for another 20 minutes. We were also then put on a very small table so our meal was cramped. We had three buggies with us, which I pre warned them about, but there was no where for them to go. So My husband and i had to eat passing our baby between us. The food was fine, but we felt rushed as we only had a two hour time slot. That's not long enough for a group of six.
We had a most enjoyable meal at the Bolingbroke. The service and food was excellent and it has a great family atmosphere. We'll be back.
Disappointing. We were a party of 5 + an 8 year old. Very noisy (had been warned about this by friends) may be it's the wooden walls. Strange mismatched chairs, some 'school' wooden chairs, hard & uncomfortable, the ones with (worn & marked) round padded cushions were too high. Staff not very interested, nice Sunday menu. My roast lamb was very chewy, the vegetables were far too 'al dente' and could not be cut with a knife. We were not asked if we enjoyed our meal or I would have complained about the lamb. Had to ask for mint sauce which came as a le of mint from a jar of shop-bought not very nice mint sauce. Sea bass was tasty as was the pork but it was not a cheap meal and did not live up to expectations. We will not go there again.
Delicious and interesting food, good service, good ambience, and very child-friendly. A really enjoyable lunch, and we'll certainly be coming back to sample more cooking.
great food, lovely wine, great atmosphere. Portion sizes were huge. Great value for money. Service good considering they were very busy when we attended. recommended
The Bolingbroke is highly recommended - always great food, a lovely environment, adorable dining area at the back of the bar area. Very friendly staff too
Great for a Bank Holiday lunch with friends and children. Really relaxed atmosphere, and good food. I'd like a little more variety and creativity on the menu, but perhaps it was just limited because we had the Sunday menu.
Great service, delicious food and with a wide menu choice all at a reasonable price. The staff were all extremely pleasant and very attentive without being intrusive.
service wasn't great waitress wasn't very helpful and a little rude, my friends meal the lamb was really tough and they didn't really care. It was also soooooo loud we actually couldn't have a conversation towards the end and had to leave. Its a shame as i had heard great reviews about it but i won't rush to go back there or recommend in a hurry.
Excellent meal. Friendly busy pub with great service. Really enjoyed the meal
Amazing roast - huge portion, food was great quality. I had roast lamb which was delicious and then sticky date pudding with Vanilla ice cream. We had an issue with our reservation where some of the guests didn't arrive and the staff were friendly and accommodating with this. Service was quick and we had a great evening We will be back again very soon, many thanks!
Brilliant staff who were so kind. We were there for a birthday and they couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you!
Great but loads of really really annoying out of control kids!!
Delicious food, excellent service, I havnt been had such a lovely meal out in a long time.
Great food and great service. Never disappointed from this local treasure.
Really helpful and delicious food! Good atmosphere too and not too busy

The Bolingbroke was recommended by a friend as having a fantastic Sunday roast, so I booked for myself, partner and 4month old son to go there for fathers day. The place itself is light, spacious and well presented, the service very friendly, helpful and efficient and the food especially the roast most certainly did not disappoint. We will be going back.
Great place to bring the kids for early supper on a Sunday! Great choice of food, nice roasts and relaxed atmosphere. Kids love the 'decorate your own cupcakes'!

The staff and food were great. We had a lovely relaxing family lunch. Thank you.
Lovely meal, everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. Couldn't daily the service either
Service was amazing really friendly staff. They were very accommodating to dietary requirements and the atmosphere was lovely
a fantastic restaurant. The staff are great, the food is fabulous, the prices are reasonable and the overall atmosphere is really enjoyable. I highly recommend the Bolingbroke.
The Nutella gnocchi is so good. Would definitely recommend it to friends
The Bolingbroke is a lovely, atmospheric pub. It has a really cosy feel inside which is very welcoming. The food was delicious as always and the staff are friendly and helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my blind date at The Bollingbroke. Warm atmosphere, happy smiley staff, jolly diners and tastefully designed interior:-) Oh and the food was pretty darn good too!
The pressed roast lamb was sublime. The combination of flavours really were spot on. Deserts fantastic all round. Service impeccable. What more could you hope for from a Sunday lunch?
Lovely pub with a good atmosphere. Not overly crowded on a Saturday night. Food was excellent - good menu options and several specials. The service was good and all reasonably priced. Highly recommend for dinner or just drinks.
Lovely Sunday lunch with friends, I stupidly booked a table online for Monday instead of Sunday but the staff were very accommodating and managed to find us a table for a drink while we waited for a table to become available. Good atmosphere and delicious food. Many thanks!
We are regulars at the bolly but we didn't have the service or experience that we are used to when we visited yesterday. We were told that the internet was down and was causing all sorts of problems. The service we received was also not great and we ended up not paying the service. Such a shame but I'm hoping yesterday was just a blip.....
Great for Sunday roasts - wide selection (beef, pork belly and chicken) and good Yorkshire puddings and gravy! Very family friendly and service ok for a very busy day.
Amazing food and customer service by all staff. The only downside was the amount of babies and therefore baby noise. The food was worth it though.
Very nice meal. Attentive friendly service. Wine list a bit limited/pricey. Tables at front of restaurant were noisy so glad to be seated in rear room.
Staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent again (7hr roast lamb shoulder!) and there were some nice wines on, too. Always a reliable Sunday dinner
