Well what can I say. We had booked a weekend away in our touring caravan for our anyversary, and when booking we looked online at nearby facilities. The Bingley Arms the local pub/resteraunt. I looked online and noted that Bingley Arms was the oldest pub in England which really appealed to us with its traditional character and charm. We booked in for Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the decor and facilities. The food was amazing along with fantastic service. I would recommend friends and family to eat here and I will be coming back in the near future.
Our food was plentiful, of very high quality and had clearly been freshly cooked which explain why service, while attentive and friendly was just on the edge of being a bit slow. The choice of wine complemented our meal very well and overall we had an extremely pleasant extended lunch, and will definitely be back for more.
Limited choice of dishes and this makes it so good because what they offer, they do well. Excellent food and service. Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere too. We will be back and recommending to friends.
Electronic booking system went smoothly. Food was very good with a great selection in accompanying vegetables. Children's meals a little disappointing - pizza had obviously been overcooked as the edges were burnt and there was extra cheese thrown on to disguise this. The chicken goujons portion was quite small - but then not for a younger child! Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, good service and a very pleasant ambiance. We'd definitely recommend and would visit again.
I booked a table on the internet without any problems and from the comfort of my armchair. This was for a walking party and after a pleasant 5 mile walk 10 of us had Sunday lunch. Te service was very good, the choice of venue was very good and the portions were very substantial. The food was very good and hot. I would recommend the Bingley Arms and will bee making a return visit very soon, as will the members of my party.
we had a lovely evening out .the staff were very friendly and attentive we will be visiting again in the near future.Best Regards . Joe Ellwood
Lovely old historic setting and food absolutely fantastic. Best steak pie and lamb been served ever!! Staff very polite and friendly and very relaxed. Definitely recommend A+++++.
The food was excellent though a lot of it , the staff helpful , the atmosphere great a truly pleasant experience! We would definitely recommend the Bingley Arms !
The 'special' pheasant pie was full of tiny sharp bones. My guest who had ordered it didn't want to complain as everyone else had had an enjoyable meal. I did not want to embarrass her by raising it yesterday. However it was inedible and thus very disappointing. The other 6 six enjoyed their meals: main courses, sweets and coffees. Service was pleasant as was the situation of our table.
Was really forward to visiting this pub. M,having heard great things about the food. Lovely waitress, really friendly &helpful, unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired, Sorry!
Great meal , staff very attentive , table prepared with baby chair and baby was well looked after. Only drawback was room was cool as we asat down to lunch. The weather outside was cold and the staff provided additional heating but this could have been done before people arrived for lunch
Very poor and disappointing ....5 meals and only 1 didn't get sent back. Such a shame as the venue is charming and well laid out.
the bingley arms was easy to find and parking a plenty. Amazing food and wonderful atmosphere. Service was a tad on the slow side. Will definitely go back
Our only critique is no background music but food excellent and very good value. Lovely old restaurant with interesting history and ideal location for North Leeds- plenty of parking
Excellent afternoon tea - we had to eat absolutely everything! Staff very busy but we were not waiting too long. This is very popular and I can understand why.
Great friendly and welcoming service, Lovely Sunday lunch with a great choice on the menu, something to please everyone. Will be returning again very soon.
The food was fine but the service was very poor. Kept waiting for an hour after ordering with no sign of any apologies or updates. When the bill came we noticed that another tables drinks had been included, adding £15 to our total. Again no apologies. Very disappointing.
I was dining with a date and wanted to impress , ......! the meal was very basic and not tasty at all and the salad was not good either... only good thing was the Desert...
Lovely afternoon tea. Very busy but staff managed to serve everyone quickly and efficiently. We were seated upstairs, which was comfortable, and enjoyed the view onto the garden.
Terrible dried out food. Meat was chewy on Sunday lunch. Pastry on pie was inedible. Poor service from the lady who took our order and then argued with my brother when she brought the wrong dish. Wont go there again....
It was very interesting visiting a pub that has so much history. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the service was great too. I'd definitely go there again.
I've just discovered this pub and love it. Particularly impressed with the service given how busy there were a few days before Christmas. Good beer too!
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch. We chose roast beef with all the trimmings. Only "complaint" is that the portions were too generous for us! Next time we'd ask for smaller portions. Good atmosphere, good service, good choice on menu.
Amazing home cooked food. Great service for a very large group. Lovely traditional atmosphere. Very reasonable prices for quality produce. Don't book as I want to make sure there are plenty of tables available for when I return!!
Probably the best steak pie in Yorkshire (that I've found so far). Good portion sizes too. Lovely old pub with history and atmosphere. I always look forward to a visit here.
We went on a Saturday early evening with family. Lovely food & excellent service. Great choice of specials. Very good value. Will definitely be back soon.
Fantastic food and even better customer service. All the staff were 100% attentive throughout the whole meal and were continually checking our needs. Superb evening out.
Lovely old pub. Good food and reasonably priced. Would be a good place for a Sunday dinner or on a sunny day as large garden. A little quiet on Saturday night
We booked for 5 people and took our small dog as they are allowed. We were directed into the bar which was dingy and there was no table suitable for 5 people to eat a meal. Not a nice ambiance or welcome or surroundings.Total waste of time.
Table always allocated and staff ready to show you where you are sitting. Orders taken promptly and usually food arrives in good time. Help to table with drinks offered.
