Enjoyed our evening slightly disappointed with where we were seated but that didn't take away too much from the experience. Had brisket which was outstanding as was the service from a young woman who was ever so polite and attentive in managing us and other tables. Would definitely go back.

Happy to be back at The Bedford! Service was friendly, didn't wait long for our meals & the food was good. Felt safe with plenty of distance between tables, well organised arrival process and so on. All good.

When the waitresss arrived she brought our menus and told us that the kitchen was backed up as it was catering an event upstairs. We were in fact waiting well over an hour for our starter. We were quite happy to enjoy our drinks but I think that if you have to wait that long then we should at least have been provided with olives or bread or some nibbles. Such a shame. Otherwise it was really good. The waitress was lovely. The food really good. And the atmosphere was buzzing. Just not sure I would go again knowing that they cater events upstairs and there is a risk of a long wait for food.

Me and my flatmates first experience at a pub since lockdown! I am an emergency service worker and I am just so so pleased with everything I experienced at The Bedford. Although, this is normal for me as the Bedford always has great service, I am so impressed. And thank you so much to all staff. Especially the blonde lady who is Eastern European (I think) and the Caucasian male with blonde hair and brown roots. I love you both!

Post pandemic first Sunday roast! the staff was very attentive , the food was served very quickly, nicer and quieter then usual atmosphere at Bedford , very much lively in normal times! ...Honestly better for us , so we could chat while eating! we loved it!

It was absolutely great to be back in our local pub and it looked and felt wonderful. Sparkling clean, everyone smiling, a great welcome, spacing worked beautifully - all excellent. Well done everybody and thank you.

I am in a wheelchair and dining out is not easy for me. My experience today was great the staff where very kind and helpful though my visit. My steak was tender and delicious, salad fresh and tasty. The Beford in Balham will now be my go too pub for a meal, drinks and entertainment.

Excellent! The food was superb - best roast I’ve had in ages - and the children’s menu was also really good. The staff were great - really attentive and didn’t miss a beat. Plus the Guinness was TASTY.

We had diner at the Bedford before attending a comedy show next door. Everything was perfect. The food the service the wine. We had an excellent time and we will be back.

4 of us, 3 got their food and I didn't. The waiter forgot to put my dish through. 15 after receiving the first 3 dishes I HAD to get up and get somebody's attention because the waiter wasn't paying attention. He apologized and told me he made a mistake and didn't order my food saying he'd do it now. 25 minutes later my guests were at the second bottle of wine and I only had a sip as I was on an empty stomach. 50 minutes after the original ordering time I got my food when my guests where ordering cheese plates. I ordered pork belly, and received some sort of pork meat with pork skin (skin was very tasty) and mash. The meat was very bland, the whole dish only tasted of apple sauce. Very poor service, average food at best, and Pizza has been murdered in this pub. Shame as I used to come here often but won't be returning for a while, as nobody in charge came to apologize or say anything.

We’d booked a table and wanted to sit in the dining room. Instead we were given a table in the bar, which was loud and had football on tv. We asked to move but we’re told it wasn’t possible. We then had to give our credit card before we could order anything! Service was slow. We’ve been lots of times before but this was a bad experience

Very attentive staff. Two lovely main courses. Meal only let down by not using correct Guinness glasses(yes it effects the taste)

Lovely Christmas lunch, our booked table was in the main bar area we thought we would of been in the restaurant area but luckily it was positioned in front of the fire so it felt quite cosy.

Lots of new staff who were not trained in making cocktails or general hospitality etiquette... bit of a shame as the three cheers pub have such a good reputation.

Found our stay a little disappointing as unlike a previous reviewer, you definitely could hear the music in the room coming from downstairs. Also the train station across the road provided a fair amount noise throughout the whole night. I guess the giveaway was the set of earplugs left on each pillow when we arrived! Unfortunately the corridor and our room smelled of what I could only describe as a sort of stale cabbage and the toilet handle was faulty and stayed on permanent flush unless fiddled with. The staff were friendly though and the check-in process quick and easy. Location was excellent. Would we stay there again... probably not!

I booked a table 2 days ahead as I was taking my staff out for dinner. It was a busy Friday night and I was disappointed to find we had a table in the busy bar area. I didn’t want to eat dinner with people standing around the table talking over us and after some discussion and waiting we were given an excellent table in the restaurant. The food, beer, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Amazing since they were so busy. Definitely coming back.

Early dinner before the comedy which was excellent quality and reasonable value for money. Shame we were charged for 4 bottles of wine rather than 4 glasses but going to assume it was an honest mistake and it was quickly rectified. The pub was buzzing, great atmosphere and beautiful decor. Great venue. Would definitely go back.
