Great service- attentive but not intrusive- and great food - flavour profiles matched expertly a very enjoyable experience all round perfect . Worth travelling from London for!

Visited for Father's Day treat. Excellent, beautifully presented food using , high quality ingredients. The staff were very friendly , service was very good & the location was beautiful . All in all a lovely experience. We would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Excellent food as always, beautifully presented, staff were pleasant, good service, thoroughly enjoyed though £35 for Sunday lunch did seem to be a bit overpriced.

I visit my sister from York once a week to go out for dinner and The Bay Horse is one of our favourite places to go. The food is always delicious and wonderfully presented.

Exceptional. We’re accomdated very well with a baby and a 4 year old. Food to the highest standard - we were even offered another risotto for our daughter so no “green bits in” will most certainly be back.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Bay Horse and absolutely loved it. The people were friendly and helpful plus the food was amazing. I was fortunate to choose a great and reasonably priced red wine from the menu which complemented the fantastic stakes and cheese. The complementary champagne was also great.

Booked for my wife's birthday. Great venue and location. Sunday lunch food was well presented and very tasty staff very friendly and attentive. Would recommend for a Sunday lunch.

Lovely meal, went for lunch with my daughter and Grandson. Excellent service. My daughter had the fish platter which she said was the best ever, Henry had a child's chicken risotto which he really enjoyed.

We have only been twice but each time the service and quality of food was exceptional, we will be back. Thank you again Syd Hall

Food was excellent, staff were lovely and friendly. Plenty of parking right outside the front door. Will definitely be back as we couldn't fault a thing.

The food was great. Unfortunately £100 worth of wine was added to our bill, apparently they had given us the wrong bottle at the start of the meal. As the bottle was no longer on the table this was difficult to verify. We had though ordered another bottle and this was definitely not the one they were charging for! When we queried the bill they rectified the mistake but made out it was us that had caused the problem! Food great, service needs work.

First visit after wanting to eat here for a while and will certainly be visiting again. All three courses were absolutely spot on for all.

Excellent as usual but father in law didn't like pidgeon. Will be back again next year on the way to Seahouses for our annual holiday

Went on a Sunday evening therefore the menu was limited had the crab for a starter but was disappointed there was only about a table spoon of crab meat on the plate the fillet steak for the main course was OK. The service was good and the wine reasonably priced.

Great little pub and restaurant. Good quality freshly cooked , food. Friendly helpful staff and good service. Great atmosphere , even on a sunny day a candle on every table . Will be going again ! Can’t wait

Doesnt get much better than this restaurant... lovely setting, efficient staff and superb food... delicious on every level... love it! Came esp from the North East to stay at Rockliffe Hall to indulge in a night of gastronomic delight at this my favourite restaurant!!

This is an excellent restaurant. The food was amazing with excellent quality ingredients. The service is exceptional even in a very busy restaurant which you don’t always get elsewhere. Love this place and will be back soon.

We had a party of 6 for lunch prior to a thanksgiving service at Croft for a dear friend who had departed. It cheered us up and we enjoyed the food. It even impressed our friends from London who had been name-dropping about restaurants in London. Service was excellent, especially as we were in a slight hurry towards the end. Many thanks

Visited for a birthday celebration. The food was first class and the staff were welcoming. Will definitely visit again. Dining room has been refurbished since our last visit.

Top lunch; great staff; good location; clean loos: good decor. Car parking a bit tight but street parking available. £20 meal of the day is great value

Not the cheapest but very good quality and friendly staff. Would recommend for special occasions or if you have plenty of money for more regular meals.

Grest location. Great ambiance, great food, great wine and excellent service. Especially liked being seated next to the fire on a cold and wet day. Highly recommended

Excellent Sunday lunch with a variety of choices, not the usual. Pea and goat’s cheese risotto a great starter with chicken ballotine to follow. Good flavoured bread to accompany. Great choice of gins and tonic. Good atmosphere and service.

A very enjoyable lunch, the ambiance is relaxed, the service crisp and efficient, the food excellent with each dish being superbly prepared and so much better to have a short menu. One hiccup, I lived for many years in France and so like some red wines lightly chilled, it seems that in England to chill red wine is forbidden.

Drove an hour and a half round trip to try this place and it was definitely worth it! The food was out of this world - One of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life! The place beautiful and the staff really polite and helpful. All of this for 3 courses for £20 - amazing. Can not wait to return!

Food, service and ambience were all excellent as usual. Although the main menu is meat and seafood heavy, the separate vegetarian menu had plenty of choice and my dishes were delicious. Staff members are knowledgable and their level of attention seems just right - natural, warm and interested. Brilliant all round.

The whole experience was really good - Excellent food which was very well presented, this pub is beautifully maintained with a lovely, cosy atmosphere - the service was great.
