Excellent service, staff are very polite and considerate. We had the Sunday Lunch which was amazing. The beef was delicious. We will be retuning very soon!

We were a party of 5. All ordered different and all meals were delicious, really was fine dining. Staff very attentive and friendly. We will be back!

Excellent the service was prompt . The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Couldn't have a pudding as we were all too full. The wine choices were also great.

Unfortunately we had a really disappointing evening at the Bay horse. We initially went for the 1st time in October last year and loved it! So when we decided to go for my husbands birthday we were all really excited, unfortunately we have all left quiet deflated. The restaurant was not overly busy but we waited over 1hour for our starters and 2 of the 5 did not order a starter. The service was very poor with the waitress regularly disappearing or just chatting away to other staff instead of attending to diners. The food was also only so so and for the price not up to expectations We won’t be rushing back

Fabulous Meal for Mother’s Day, staff really accommodating and friendly. The puddings were amazing, especially the homemade honeycomb. Will be back to try the full menu soon.

Wonderfull food professionally delivered by attentive staff. The menu description only provides a small insight into what will arrive on each plate. Quality beer and wine offerings from the bar are also notable.

Beautiful food as always. Service not the quickest but that’s much better than being rushed, and if we hadn’t been absolutely famished we probably wouldn’t have noticed. Staff very polite and helpful.

We visited here for a special birthday Sunday lunch. Lovely venue, excellent choice of dishes which were all delicious, and the service was very attentive without being overpowering.

All the food was beautiful. Vegans and vegetarians are catered for really well too! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back in the future.

I love the bay horse. However on this occasion for a reasonably priced mid week tea, I thought it was a little on the expensive side. Two chicken main courses, no starter and two glasses of wine, 80 pounds I thought was a little expensive. I agree you have to pay for quality, but found it just a wee bit over priced and over fussy.

Restaurant was not really warm enough. Food absolutely excellent as always but slightly disappointed with the very small amount of meat in the main course.

Food and ambience good, staff friendly and attentive although service felt slow with what felt like a long wait for food. Difficult balance to get with unhurried experience. Will go again and continue to recommend to others.

A quiet lunchtime but the welcome and service were first class and the food and wine were excellent. We cannot wait to eat there again.

The setting for the Bay Horse in Hurworth is pretty and the inside is lovely too. We were met by the warmth of a log fire, which was very welcome for a cold February evening. The staff were equally warm, very helpful and friendly. The food is fab, a super mix of traditional and unusual with interesting combinations. A lovely evening and a real treat of a night out.

Warm welcome cosy room great service and one of the best meals in the area, and very good value, we look forward to returning soon.

Food excellent staff friendly and courteous,however we were given lovely complementary bread shortly after being seated but then waited 40 mins before our order was taken and then given complimentary bread again waiter appeared oblivious that we had already had bread.We gave it to a passing waitress to return it.We didn't have starter just main course ( which took 30 minutes to arrive )and pudding.This wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't waited 40 minutes to place order in the first place.All in all we were there 70 minutes before we started our meal.Other than the long wait to order a pleasant lunch experience.

The food was lovely, but the deserts did not look like the photos on the web site, and the portions could of been a bit bigger. The pub itself was really nice, the staff were friendly.

Gorgeous food and excellent service with a cosy,bustling atmosphere. I had crab, venison and apple galette and every mouthful was divine. Staff are friendly and attentive without being pushy. Worth every penny spent.

Excellent meal as always! We've never been for 'Sunday Supper' before, but can highly recommend for those who prefer to have main meal of the day at night even on a Sunday.

We had mussels in a cream source and the game risotto for starters. Both were full of flavour and the mussels were almost large enough for a main course. We both had pheasant for the main course which was again excellent with a variety of flavours to accompany the meat. We were too full for deserts. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. All in all an excellent evening.

Delicious food I had carrot soup followed by chicken main, my husband had parsnip soup followed by parsnip croquette the flavours were superb, a real treat for our pallets. The lovely atmosphere and friendly staff made it a special experience. 100% all round.

My daughter booked this for us because of its proximity to Rockcliffe Hall where we were staying. What a gem, fabulous food and excellent service. Will definitely be back for more.

Fourth visit in the last 12 months and once again excellent. Only slight niggle, the scallops were plated up too soon onto a cool plate and were a little cold. It was busy and I put it down to that alone. Otherwise, very happy.
