Service a little slow Cocktails were very sweet although appeared to be made to order. Good value with voucher Staff pleasant and attentive Worth a visit
Brilliant atmosphere. Had the vegetable Wellington which was delicious and the bubble gum tom Collins are amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed 😊. The entertainment was also great and very fitting for a relaxed dinner
Great service, maybe a little too quick! Excellent food, would have liked a better choice of cocktails (used a Wowcher) and a lovely atmosphere for a Wednesday evening! Will definitely return
Food was average and restaurant was very noisy. Waitress was pleasant but addressed us as “YOUS” continually! Staff kept wheeling metal carts past us!!! A very large room which would be better boothed off to prevent echo and noise.
amazing service and a lovely meal, used a wowcher but upgraded to the steak which is one of the best we have ever had. the decor is obviously brilliant too being shankly themed
Good food and service with a great atmosphere. Emma our waitress was excellent throughout the meal. The hotel caters for hen and stag parties but for us this was plus as the restaurant was fun and lively.
Absolutely amazing, Sophie was great, could not be happier with service and quality of the food. Will definitely be going back there for our next special occasion!
Quite the worst restaurant we have encountered for years. Fighting through the smokers at the door we then approached the tackiest place I have seen purporting to be a restaurant. Dozens of people round a bar, at least two screens showing football (yes I know it's the Shankly Hotel but we went for a meal). Add to that noise a singer as well, too loud. We were shown to a table next to three drunks sat drinking and then left alone. No offer of wine etc. Menu did look inviting but needless to say we left before ordering and eventually the wonderful staff at San Carlo squeezed us in for a lovely meal we should have been having at the Bastion.
Very good value for money. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Food was exceptional and I would eat here again. I would also advise friends and family to try it. Very nice experience throughout.
Great service and delicious food. Relaxing atmosphere. Good choice of cocktails. We had lunch, afternoon tea was a popular choice and we may be back to try it.
Took my wife for our wedding anniversary, and we both enjoyed a excellent meal. Staff were friendly and helpful, nice and relaxed atmosphere topped off with some excellent memorabilia. I would definitely recommend this venue
Food was lovely very tasty just enough not over facing .cocktail s went down very nicely. Staff couldn't do enough for us .will definitely be back again.
Comfortable surroundings we had a booth, and they had an afternoon singer on as it was a Sunday. Food and service very good, good value for money. Would recommend when in Liverpool.
Service was absolutely fabulous, the location is ideal and inside of the restaurant was lovely too. Only issue we has was the soup could have been hotter and was more tangy than I expected for a tomato and red pepper soup
It was a great afternoon tea. Plenty to eat fir two of us. Prosecco tasty. The Resident magician was brilliant and entertaining. Highly recommend it.
Friendly atmosphere, delicious food, attentive staff and very good service. The screens showing Shankly and LFC highlights from decades ago to present day are very interesting.
Really enjoyed the afternoon tea and all staff very helpful made it such a lovely experience Emma was the young girl that was looking after us.
Had a lovely afternoon at the Shankly Hotel. Amazing afternoon tea, with a few martinis, and a lounge in the sun afterwards on the rooftop terrace. Had a fussy eater with us and all her requests were readily fulfilled. Will return. I
The restaurant can be very busy and noisy. The food was very nice, but expensive. It is worth a visit, particularly if staying at the hotel.
Can't make its mind up whether it's a restaurant or a sports bar. The football memorabilia I get, but TV screens everywhere with Sky on a loop I don't. It was also full of hen parties. Not my idea of a good dining experience. As for the food. The selection was limited but that's ok. It was the quality that let it down. The scotch egg starter was ok but the salad which sat along side it had definitely seen better days. The lamb main was, again, ok but really too salty - a common complaint from the rest of my party who, between us had the lamb, ox cheek and the chicken breast. In short, I wouldn't recommend it and won't be returning.
Fab food, relaxing atmosphere, great service. Went for Afternoon Tea, when it arrived it didn't look much but there was too much to eat in the end. Very enjoyable and worth the money. Helps you escape the day to day stresses.
This is the second time that we've visited this restaurant and the food was so tasty and all the staff were so attentive and polite!
This place was outstanding. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was literally 5 star. Would recommend the Bastion to everyone. Lovely place to go to eat. I took my boyfriend for his birthday and was not disappointed
Fantastic food fantastic staff will be coming back again and again can't fault any part of our meal and the atmosphere was great highly recommend
The service was brilliant really friendly the atmosphere was good and the afternoon tea was great lovely sandwiches and beautiful cakes presented really well and lots of tea
Great time with my Liverpool mad Dad for Father's Day thanks for the great steak!! My dad agrees it was the best streak he has ever had!
Lovely food, nice atmosphere and excellent service. Will definitely be back. Afternoon tea looked yummie, will be trying this next time. Roof terrace is excellent.
Great venue for a special date night. Fab food, attentive but unobtrusive service and lovely atmosphere. A very clever table magician entertained us. I even loved the playlist in the background. Can't wait to return
Nice food, interesting decor and good service but live music a bit too loud. Otherwise a great experience. Would recommend. Early bird menu good quality food.
We really enjoyed the night out, friendly staff and great selection on the menu. I had the home made Scotch eggs, which were delicious. Recommend you try...
Great atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Restaurant packed out due to hen parties. Waiting staff apologised asap to let us know it was busier than usual.
Loved every minute of it, food was amazing, staff really friendly and nothing too much of a problem, atmosphere and memorabilia amazing, my Mum loved it. Thank you
Fab place fab surroundings, nice food - made the booking easily on the web - we had been to the Empire theatre it was in close proximity so the location was ideal!!
Was to noisey, restaurant was not seperate from the bar area. Also the Faberet entertainment was cancelled, I was not informed about this. This was the only reason we booked the meal as it was my Mum's 70th birthday. Food was average. Could not fault service of the staff though
Had Sunday lunch at the bastion, we had a wonderful time, food was delicious, I had the chicken & my husband had the beef, bruschetta & fishcakes to start & I had treacle tart for pudding, there was a Frank Sinatra tribute on & he was very good, only down side & why I scored 5, service was very slow, not every table was taken so not super busy, staff were very pleasant, just a bit slow on drinks service, but I would definitely go again
Lovely, friendly staff. Very clean and relaxed. Lovely starter of scotch egg and main course of chicken. However, the dessert which was strawberry cheesecake really let it down as it wasn't nice at all.
Great customer service, very friendly and helpfull staff and great food. Went on a wowcher deal and fab value for money. Will definitely be going back...sooner rather than later!
Nice afternoon lunch plenty of cakes to go around, nice surroundings and staff friendly . cocktails excellent and would also be nice just for a drink at bar.
Second visit for a lovely afternoon tea, cocktails quite expensive but all in all a good visit enjoyed by all the group. Even better was the football being on. Will return.
excellent venue, perfect staff and great food, overall the vibe was brilliant in a thriving part of liverpool assisted by my love for the reds.
This is a fantastic place with some amazing food!! We will be back again and have highly recommended to friends and family. Booking our next visit already!
The food was nice, but the service isnt great, the resturant wasnt particularly busy but it seemed to take a while for food and drinks to come, having to ask for the bill twice and then sat waiting to pay (while the staff had a nice little chat between themselves) i got fed up and walked to the counter to pay.
Restaurant was lovely and waitress who looked after us was very good, made sure we always had fresh tea and coffee and checking if we needed anymore cold drinks, frequently changed and gave us fresh small side plates when asked. Table reaserved for 2, we both had the afternoon tea at £20 p/p The experience was very good but for the full cost of £40.00 in total their was probably about £10/£15 worth of cakes and sandwiches. A selection of cakes and sandwiches were quite hard on the outside suggesting they weren't freshly made that day, our table was booked for half 3 so I don't believe they were made that day and just left out for a while.
We Had a very enjoyable experience the food was very nice and the atmosphere was good in the restaurant and the staff were very helpful
A superb setting for any Liverpool fan surrounded by the glory days. The service was a little slow although the staff were extremely polite. We were left alone undisturbed to catch up. I had the 6oz rump steak which was cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit just to soak up the atmosphere. A resonable price for quality food.
Excellent food and service. The fillet steak sharing platter was the best steak we've had. Would highly recommend, staff were very friendly and we'd definitely return.
Lovely friendly staff. Tasty food and good house red. It was a pretheatre meal and our order was taken promptly. The bread and butter was delicious and kept us going while waiting for our main course. Nice atmosphere and great Shankly photos. Would recommend
Brilliant food and drinks and good atmosphere. Price was reasonable for such a good standard. Would definitely recommend to a friend. A must for any LFC fan.
we went here tonight to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary .We have been to 47 different resturants each year a different one this was one of the best
Good service. Lovely food. Downside was the noise. Lots of hen parties lots of noise. Couldn't hear yourself speak. Waitress Rebecca very attentive and obliging. Organised our taxi and saw us safely in it. Only downside for me was the noise. I have been here midweek and it's much quieter
