The menu had plenty of variety and it was tasty food plus a great service as always! We will be going back again very soon!
Brilliant roast and it is a lovely venue. Easy to get to the location and deco on side is modern and artsy. definitely recommend a visit
This is a great pub with the best pub quiz on Monday nights. There is also a huge back garden for summer days. Pizzas are good too.
Great atmosphere with a nice beer garden. Nice staff. Drive bugs were good. Food was only average and I have had better at many other pubs
Secret Garden is LOVELY and the staff were totally on it. Lovely Sunday afternoon! Roasts were big and delicious and not overpriced. Will be back for sure.
Consistently great food. Love the Sunday roasts. Staff were lovely even though they were extremely busy. Secret garden is just perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Lovely place - great food, good atmosphere, good for dinner or Sunday lunches especially
Great table, perfect seats for the game and whatever the fuck else to give them a good review. Blah blah blah blah blah and a bit more blah
Great night at the Avalon. Good quiz, good drinks & good food. We will be returning soon. Booked a good size table for our party .
Really great food & atmosphere, lovely out door area too. It’s one of my local restaurants & I’m really glad to have it so close!
A very good experience. Great food and friendly staff. Very easy with children and even better when outside enjoying the nice weather. I would definitely recommend.
Superb as always from the avalon team Roast was on point! Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you for the World Cup!
Booked 2 weeks ago and got a table with about a 30% view of the small tv...not a place to watch sport. Bit of a disappointment.
Good food, in particular the pizza was very good. Two minor points they could work on: the croquettes on the small plates menu were not available, but other croquettes were (for the same price as other small plates) on the daily specials. However, our waitress insisted that they could not be pat of the three for GBP 15 offer on small plates. Economically pointless and inflexible. Secondky, we had to wait a very long time for our mains. Apparently we had been forgotten amd had been too polite to chase them.
Service was ace! The staff are so lovely and went out of there way to help. The garden was lovely. But the food was really subpar
Dedicated service and helpful staff whenever we’ve visited and the absolute touch is the secret garden when the sun is out. Great spot that is ideally come to more often.
Great food and atmosphere and reasonably priced. Good selection on menu with daily specials too. Sunday roasts are always a winner here too.
Good food service and drinks - was a little loud as we were there on a weekend night and the restaurant is right next to the bar
It is a very tasty roast dinner. Beef was good in taste, although it was a little thin. The Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the gravy tasty.
Group of 4, rushed off our table by a very rude member of staff, despite there being many other tables available. His attitude and tone was shocking. Very disappointing Easter lunch.
We waited 20 minutes to get the waiter's attention to order and eventually had to go up to the counter to get his attention. My Sunday roast had no potatoes. What?! And my nut roast was too soft and lukewarm at best. The waiter took the service charge off the bill, at least.
The meal was fine. Thai corn starter was very nice, the main (steak) was OK. We did not stay for desert as it was too busy and noisy in the restaurant. Service was a little slow, there did not appear to be many staff on duty.
The Beef and green vege were really tasty. I always find your Bloody Marys inconsistent and varying in taste. Staff were generally attentive and friendly.
Excellent food and great service Bar a bit crowded and noisy but restaurant area perfect Nice wines helped the evening to be a big success!
Went for Sunday lunch. Lots of variety on the menu, we were all very pleased with our choices. Attentive service. My only issue is the design of the restaurant area means it is incredibly noisy. I think it is something to do with the ceiling.
Roast was great, maybe a little too much rosemary used in my opinion but still very yummy. Service was a little frantic to start, had to wait 10mins to be shown to our table but again understand that it’s Sunday and it’s busy.
We had a good evening at the Avalon. The food was good and the Staff was Great. As it's a pub, it can be noisy but it's a pub so normal. We will come back
Excellent place lovely service and atmosphere. Will definitely go again soon. Variety of dishes , we had the roast and was one of the best I’ve had.
The service was great, very friendly and happy staff and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere and lots of people in the pub as usual! You can never go wrong with the Avalon!
Lovely food - big portions and good atmosphere. Service good, service charge added to bill but the service was ok so no problem with that.
The food (chorizo pizza) was delicious but our waitress wasn't all that cheerful (she didn't smile at all) which made the visit slightly less enjoyable
We always enjoy the Avalon. Good food, nice atmosphere doggie and child friendly. Got the couch by the fire, was really nice. Burgers are yummy.
Friendly staff, good service even when super busy. Good value for money. Mix of styles at the venue: Sunday lunch, sport on, relaxed restaurant. All in all very nice place
Overall it was okay but with a few niggles. Firstly, when I arrived the barmaid was quite rude and dismissive when I asked where my table was. Our food was tasty but unfortunately I had to send my chips back as they arrived cold, and my friend's dish wasn't piping hot either. However, the waiter was very apologetic and brought replacement chips without me having to wait too long. Also, my other friend had the pizza and it looked and tasted very good. I had to pay at the bar as I couldn't get any of the waiting staff's attention, and once again I encountered the rude barmaid who I think just doesn't have very good English and therefore found it difficult to understand me, but rather than say 'I'm sorry, could you repeat that please?' she just got really irritable. I would be happy to go back again to give the place another try, but will avoid that particular staff member! In terms of service and food quality, some of the Avalon's sister venues are better (e.g. The Bolingbroke and The Stonhouse) and are more of a restaurant experience than a pub, and I think the Avalon's prices should reflect that, but unfortunately most other pubs in the area offers a similarly average experience.
Great service, great food, never a boring experience. Always good
It was extremely busy loud and not what I thought- the food was ok nothing special - Not sure I’d go back for a return visit
Very nice evening with lovely food. Waiters were very nice and great atmosphere. Love the offer. Menu was a bit small but still ok. The wine was very good.
Very nice steak and scotch egg. Would go back again and try this out. The ale is also very good and worth a visit for beer alone.
Great food and great atmosphere. Love the pork roast and crumble.
Delicious food at the Avalon, the Camembert is sooooo good! Steaks were very good quality meat and great chips with them! Lovely service and great atmosphere ,thoroughly recommended
Great food & excellent service. Tasty steaks, salmon & the cocktails were nice and strong too. Would recommend and will repeat the visit soon. Lovely.
Very nice pub with a good selection of food and drink and a great atmosphere. Food is decent and not expensive and it’s well located for a walk back if you live Locally.
We were a.party of four and all of us enjoyed the meal. The staff were very professional and helpful. The waiter was very patient with me when i forgot to give him my tab number when I and took ages to find the vouche. The food was good quality and of a very generous size( I could not eat all my brisket). The wine was ok and relatively good value for this part of South London.
The Roast was great, probably the best one in south London, but unfortunately the service wasn't. Definitely worth going though, don't be put off by the service
Delicious and amazing value with the 50% off food voucher! Would recommend the lemon posset for pudding! Good, friendly service. Would definitely come to the Avalon again
Only two out of three meals were good, the sea bass and they roast brisket. However the half chicken was drowned in a poor barbeque sauce
One member of the serving staff was extremely rude and unfriendly because we wanted to move table before even ordering a drink let alone food.
The Avalon always has amazing food and great service. Flat breads, pizzas and the baked Camembert are definite favourites. I would 100% recommend the Avalon for a good quality and delish pub feed
I was here with my toddler and dog and the service couldn’t have been better! There was a great kids menu, the dog was welcomed with open arms and given a bowl of water, and the regular menu was really good too. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
Good food and great atmosphere Perfect for casual dining. Service might be a little slow as they can be busy but staff is nice. Better for dinner
