The Abbeville

Had a great Sunday roast but not a great space for people with babies and children as there isn’t really anywhere to accommodate a small buggy.

Unfortunately we were greeted on our arrival by being advised the table was needed to be given back in 90 minutes. We were then rushed through our meal to ensure we met this window. It was not quite the leisurely lunch we’d hoped for.

I always come here, the restaurant is super dog friendly, staff always make a fuss of my dog and bring him water. The service is great and the food is really good. Highly recommended.

Really let down with the service and the food this evening. Having come to the pub regularly and always had amazing food and good service this was beyond disappointing. When we got there they had got the tables all mixed up. Then the food was brought out at different times (we ended up speaking to the chef directly). The food was average and not anywhere as good as it normally is. Then we were told (when we went to pay) that the card machines were down, no alternative way to pay was offered - my husband had to go home to get cash to pay. Whilst he was out I overheard the waitress pretending not to understand what an ATM was when someone asked them where the nearest one was. They should have been telling people as they came in as there isn’t any cash machines nearby. Really bad night as a result from a local pub that we normally love.

Not up to the usual standards. Had to wait over 20 minutes for my table. Kids Sunday roast portions are usually generous but not this time. Food wasn’t too hot either. As usual, the staff were working very hard. It was really busy, but that’s not a good enough excuse

Great Sunday roast. Cozy pub with a great atmosphere and excellent service from the staff made for a great evening with the family. Would return.

pretty average meal on an early Sunday evening booking. Roasts never fully hit the mark here on sundays - kitchen just seems overwhelmed by demand. Would avoid on Sundays.

Food was delicious and staff really nice. They were very helpful with allergy information for my son too. Only negative is we ordered ho chocolate off the kids menu but were given an adult one and had to pay £3.50 for it.

The Abbeville recently updated their menu -- not for the better. We used to return enthusiastically to what is our local pub. Now, not likely for a while to give them the opportunity to make their food options more compelling.

Really good food and excellent service (from Anna). I've never had a bad meal here and the wine is always really decent and well priced.

Nice pub in Clapham Common area. Good food and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Went for Sunday roast. Pork was good. Looking forward to trying the Bedford in Balham when it re-opens.

The food isn't as good as it used to be. the chicken was very dry in the roast and my place, fish was undercooked. ok

Great food and great service! The staff were very efficient and helpful. We certainly will be back. The boys loved decorating their own fairy cakes.

A lovely relaxed pub with excellent food and great service. We enjoyed our burgers immensely. I would recommend this pub for groups or couples. Good range of cocktails too

Staff were really friendly and the roast pork roast is to die for. Great atmosphere, will return in the future, looking forward to making this place my local.

Very good selection of food inc vegan and vegetarian options. Great beers and wine selection as well as attentive friendly service. All at reasonable prices. Will definitely recommend and return.

Always great for dinner in a local location. Food always yummy never disappoints lots of choice and always have specials. Staff are always friendly and helpful too.

I love the Abbeville. Such a great cozy local. The roast dinners are excellent and the Yorkshire pudding is as big as your head. Always pleasant staff and great selection.

Very, very nice food. Good service, too. But don't let them seat you upstairs – low ceiling and no ambiance feels like you've been stuck in no-man's land.

This is one of my favourite places. It has good food, friendly staff and an interesting and quirky environment. This time my pie was tasty but could have been better.

Went to The Abbeville with a 50% of voucher and the food was very good - we all had the steak and chips which was very good quality. The problem is they make a lot of money from the drinks and they also add 12.5% service onto the value of what the overall cost would have been before discount so, in effect, there is a 25% service charge which is difficult to challenge unless you totally refuse to pay it! For this reason, even with the 1/2 price voucher, I won't rush back as the food is expensive at full price but you virtually pay that with the ridiculous service charge.

Nice pub, great service from staff. Visited on a Friday night, so busy and glad to have booked a table. Food was good, glad to have half price offer on food, or could get expensive.

Great, rustic style local pub/restaurant with really friendly staff and excellent, homemade food. Big portions and great quality produce. Definitely recommended and also dog friendly.

good location in the heart of abbeville village. Small bar but a nice terrace. The food is good between a menu and specials of the day. Very friendly staff

Great food, always go there for their Sunday roast but let down by the very slow service. You need to chase the waiters for the menu.

Service was super, really friendly server who didn't rush us. The white wine we ordered, however, was way to warm and although a bucket with ice was provided, as it was a hot evening the wine never reached the right temperature which obviously affected the taste. We chose the ribs for a main, which were okay but too tough and more bone than meat. Dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was delicious.

Lovely local! Ribs were insane and great wine selection for my taste. I had a chicken salad which was pretty basic. But good ambience and staff!! Thumbs up

Lovely roast today. Food delicious as always and service really friendly! We booked earlier in the day and ordered 2 pork belly roasts and 1 roast beef. I love their Yorkshire puddings so ordered another one with my meal! Great portion sizes.

So good, all the food getting brought out looked v good, so hard to decide what to order, got a steak pie on the specials. Was best one I ever had

The roast was amazing, a very big Yorkshire pudding and lots of lovely vegetables! The waitress we had was really lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. We had the little room down the steps and it was so nice and cosy. Best roast in Clapham even perhaps!

Amazing roast. Good dose of gravy. Good size helping. Pints also great. Lovely wine. Would recommend for both a night out or Sunday lunch, great pub all round.

Really fantastic atmosphere. Staff were really welcoming, especially to our wee pug we brought along, which they were very accommodating of. The venue itself has a really great feel to it different levels and spaces, service was excellent and the Sunday roast was a big portion, absolutely delicious.

Excellent meal as always. Brought a friend from out of town and had a great time. Staff really helpful and knowledgeable. Dog friendly so could bring my pooch along!

One of my favourite places to go but by far one of the worst experiences i had there. It wsa freezing cold and wet weather outside and when i arrived my coat was soaking wet, i asked if there was a coat hook to hang my coat and was told to put it on the back of my chair. I spent the entire time sitting on a dripping wet and freezing jacket. They also had the windows and doors open for a delivery and i was sat direct in the breeze. The food was also average. I ordered steak it literally arrived 5mins after ordering. Steaks although can be cooked quickly need time to rest. This clearly didn't happen. My chips were also clearly reheated from the day before and were not nice at all. Such a shame as this has really made me question whether i want to return so regularly to my favourite spot.

The Abbeville had a great menu. The Sunday roast was excellent. The service was second to none, they were lovely and they were especially accomodating of our dog. Would definitely go back.

Very attentive friendly service matched by good food at reasonable prices . Loved the calamari , the largest Yorkshire puddings I’ve ever seen and a brownie birthday cake !

loved it! A quirky and cozy pub that serves my favourite beer- blue moon:) Well worth the find and I recommend highly for a afternoon catch up with friends

The food was great, as usual, but a couple of the staff were quite grumpy, one particularly rude, which spoiled what was meant to be a special day.

We arrived , was met with a not friendly approach, food average , service not great , environment not great looked dirty . Location over substance.
