Another great night. Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and great value for money. We always have a great time when we come for dinner at the Abbeville!
Delicious food in nice surroundings. A tucked away little gem!
Great food and great service! Steak was cooked as requested. Large burgers and a good selection of wines. Although a high service charge of 12.5%.
Really lovely staff and great food. The atmosphere was excellent- they did show the rugby in the restaurant as well as the bar which wasn't ideal for an evening meal but otherwise excellent.
The Abbeville still has one of the best burgers in Clapham, served by the usual friendly staff.
Easy to find, The staff were very helpful especially if you've have a gluten intolerance, food was first class. Fabulous venue for a sitdown meal with your friends or family with a nice glass of wine
Stunning roast! The pork roast was superb! Great atmosphere too...I strongly recommend dining at the Abbeville.
Service was a little slow but well worth the wait. Great selection of unusual beers and ciders. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
The service was friendly and efficient as always. As a non-fish eater I do sometimes struggle with main course choices on the menu and it would be really nice to see a chicken dish on there too. Overall I really enjoyed my food and experience and would recommend it.
Nice food, friendly service. Good range of beers. Lunch menu was runny bit limited but Goff value with 50% off food.
Good service and dinner as usual. The only things to avoid are tables between the kitchen counter and the loos. There is often an unpleasant smell in the air. Otherwise great.
We arrived with a baby in a pram, and unfortunately we were seated in the upstairs area. Even though there were tables downstairs, we were told we couldn't move. One diner ordered a medium rare steak, and it was served blue and cold. Upon returning it, she had to wait 20 minutes for a new one to be delivered.
I don't go here enough - they are very friendly and welcoming, and the menu always looks appetising. However, the lunch menu is a little sparse and limited, and as I don't eat wheat, I was somewhat narrowed in my choices. I went for what sounded like a lovely light and fresh options, prawn and crayfish salad with grilled baby gem and grapefruit. When it turned up, it didn't look or feel like a restaurant dish - just a load of cold small prawns arranged over some leaves and fruit segments with a couple of dollops of lemon mayo. I'd probably been expecting much juicier prawns or at least something that looked like it hadn't just come straight out of the packet from Lidl! My companion had the charred salmon and that was lovely, with an attractive-looking mixed leaf base. We shared garlic greens, a pretty small portion for the price. I had a 50% off voucher for food, so when then bill came, I didn't feel so bad, but at full price, I'd have felt short-changed. The place was almost empty, so they were fast and friendly, happy to welcome my dog as well, and we had plenty choice about where to sit. I know the food here is usually excellent and I'm booked in for dinner next week, when the menu is MUCH more wide-ranging and appetising. maybe just my bad choice of limited options on this occasion, but it's worth noting that most people want to eat out for something they wouldn't normally make at home and for lovely presentation - those prawns might need to up their game ;)
We've been coming to this neighbourhood restaurant for a number of years now. Friday was a bit of a special occasion, catching up with old friends. Excellent service as usual and very good food. Can't fault it.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A varied menu of fairly standard stuff, but well prepared and served by very friendly waitresses. Always full, so a buzzy atmosphere. My only caveat is that if you are unlucky you may encounter a table of shrieking women.
Excelent food and atmosphere! The best Sunday roast in South west London.
I had the rump steak with Parmesan truffle oil fries and my friend had the lamb with Dauphinoise potatoes. I asked for the steak to be medium rate and it arrived medium at best. The piece of meat wasn't great either however the peppercorn sauce was amazing. The portion of lamb was very small - the side of Dauphinoise potatoes dwarfing the lamb. Service on the whole was quite slow too.
Great Sunday roasts, service always good and very reasonable too.
Food was super, service excellent, quirky little pub, with a nice outside space
Great food. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, reseating us outside in the sunshine as soon as a table became available. Love this place.
Service was excellent as was the wine. Food was good but not amazing for the price.
Good service and relaxing atmostphere.. Homely food served quickly and nicely presented,
Friendly, and courteous staff, and a lovely Sunday lunch. The pork belly was fantastic, and friends said the beef was top notch too. And some lovely beers, including Timothy Taylor Landlord.
Good food selection, nice service and babies and dogs welcome!
The place was buzzing! Love the sewing machine pedal !
Ribs were mostly gristle and service poor. Such a shame as this place used to be so good.
Food was great as usual but service not as friendly as it generally is here. Pity as the restaurant was quiet so the waiting staff weren't rushed, however it was still decent and I'll be returning.
Excellent service and outstanding food as always! Everything was catered for, including the needs of 6 adults, a toddler and a dog.
Nice food, good service. Just that the food was a little cold on arrival at the table. I'd recommend the steak, it was very good but the truffle fries had quite a strong flavour which I liked but i know wouldn't be to everyone's taste.
Top quality food attentive staff and excellent atmosphere. Good range of food
Good roast beef and exceelent fishcakes - very good size portions. Even better desert, sticky toffee pudding. And at a very decent price as well.
Always reliable and one of the best burgers in town. Definite favourite.
Excellent service from the staff, good food (in both quality and selection) and wine choices and a great buzzy ambience (with intruding on our table's conversation) as ever!
We booked in for my mum's birthday, looking for something local and relaxed but high quality. The food was generally really good, the prawn and chorizo pasta was absolutely delicious, the only negative remarks I would make is that the roast pork I had was more like a belly of pork and didn't have any crispy crackling like i've had before, it was all moist and soft. The yorkshire puddings keep me coming back though and I love that they're not stingy with the gravy, bringing two more jugs when I asked for some more. The ice cream and sorbets were also very good. I like the atmosphere in the pub although we were sat very close to the bar and there was a football match on which meant that it was quite difficult to hear each other. The service is friendly and prompt, over all I would definitely come back, more in the winter for the roasts.
Great atmosphere and food. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant as they accommodated for our extra guest and managed to find us a bigger table in a very busy pub.
Another lovely dinner at The Abbeville. Great food and attentive staff in a buccolic setting - the countryside comes to south London! Brought friends from L.A. who were positively transported by the experience. Works every time!
Very good, varied food served in intimate, rustic- style surroundings.
Great service and lovely pub. The Sunday roasts are better earlier in the day. I have been here twice for a Sunday roast. The first time was nearer lunch time and the beef was lovely and pink and soft, this time it was at 6.30pm and the meat was brown and a bit drier. All the trimmings were delicious and I highly recommend (just make sure you go at lunch time).
Service started off really well then was awful by the end.
Good food and service as always. Great local pub serving tasty food
Below par tonight. Ribeye steak was pretty tasteless, as was my partners lamb.
Traditional cosy pub but offering food more impressive than your average pub. Decent wine, beer selection could be better. good winter place but nice out the front when its a sunny afternoon.
Had a great lunch at the Abbeville - again. If anything we thought it was better than before. The roast beef was perfectly cooked the right side of pink and served with all the trimmings. Really good Yorkshire pudding - but I did have to ask for a little more gravy. Can't be that bad can it!? Always a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly and quick to respond to requests. Not the first time here, nor the last.
Very good service, just the right balance between being attentive and giving you space / time to choose. Great burgers. Lovely cold Sauvignon. A very good local pub / restaurant which appears very consistent.
The food was good but the service was too slow as we waited about 30 minutes to have the main course and had to ask the waiter to check.
This is the third time we visited and it was again great food and service, as before. The Abbeville is fast becoming one of our favourites, great atmosphere, superior food and a nice wine list.
Fantastic roast dinner and service, great pub, will definitely be back
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere and dog friendly. Lots of nooks and crannies made dining more interesting and it felt like we had a private dining area.
This place has great food, good price and friendly service. Really nice atmosphere.
Great food and good service. Perfect Sunday pub and doc friendly too :)
