Great tasty food and a lovely relaxed environment, staff were friendly and helpful

Waited a while to be served drinks and some confusion as to the availability of beef at 3pm on a Sunday - this was resolved by the manager who reassured us beef was available with a short delay, which was fine as we planned to have a starter. Food was great!

We had roast beef but it would have been much more enjoyable if we were given the option to have either thinly sliced beef or your normal thick slices. We would have preferred thinly sliced. Blinds would be a good idea for those very large windows so one is not blinded while have a meal. Thank you.

Great food. Lovely staff. Room was too cold (boiler problems) but when we mentioned it we were moved to a warmer area immediately.

The main meal was delicious so compliments to the chef. We had the lamb & the beef...quite salty so ask for lots of water. Meals don't come with vegetables so that bumps up the price by £6 a head for a potato & mixed veg side. Our table was near the kitchen door which was opening & closing all the time so ask for one away from the kitchen. Couple of niggles...The white wine was not chilled (but poured out without checking we were happy) so we had to call the waiter back who apologised and said it had just come up from the cellar & took the bottle away to chill but didn't bring an ice bucket so it just warmed up again. Lastly the millionaires shortbread is an unusual consistency ... as hard as toffee so impossible to eat with a spoon.... I will give it another go though as I liked the surroundings & it's close by!!

Food flavours and portion size were very good but main course was not hot enough.Yorkshires were cold at the base but warmer at the top, mash was hardly warm. After raising the problem at the end of the meal a discount was applied which was nice bit very disappointed when compared with their sister pub. Would ensure future booking is not in conservatory as too noisy.

Overall nice meal 😊 lamb was beautifully cooked. The beets weren’t to my liking so shall pick something else next time. Everyone else in my party loved it there. Beautiful ambience. Very friendly staff. My pud was very basic which let my experience down.

A vast improvement from our last visit! Service was great, food was delicious and those that had steak said it was up with the best they had ever had. The dessert portion size wasn’t the best for the price , but otherwise we had a very pleasant experience.

We had a lovely time and the food was fabulous. The only complaint I have is that it was quite cold. We were sitting near to the door so a very cold draught when people came in or left.

Pleasant environment. Food ok but the pie was very small! Unable to park in their car park. Had to go in a side street. Staff attentive. Very noisy table next to us so couldn’t enjoy live entertainment.

Great visit for a special occasion & we weren't disappointed. The pub is run with professional efficiency & we dined on a staff training night & the standard was still very high. The quality of food was superb & the staff more than happy to discuss the meals provided & listen to any feedback will certainly return
