Very good food. Had to wait for our table despite having booked. Service good even though restaurant very busy. Good atmosphere and not overpriced.. Would go back.
Great food ,great service, and lovely Staff always eager to please nothing is a bother to them All together a fantastic place to dine out Clearly the best Indian Restaurant in the Lanarkshire area superb
Great local Indian.. all fresh and fantastically flavoured. Very friendly staff.light and airy room.would highly recommend. Thanks very much. We will be back soon as.
The food was great, everyone enjoyed the curries, rice & naan bread. We loved how each curry came in its own hot pan. The staff were very friendly and professional. We will definitely return & would recommend.
First thoughts on the place wasn’t great on arrival as there was no one in the restaurant apart from us but on leaving the place was full .. food was very very good and I would highly recommend the journey to strathaven for an authentic Indians
Absolutely excellent good food good wine good service nice staff very reasonable cost. Highly recommend portions were generous.. we are lucky this restaurant is a10 minute walk from home
Delicious food, plenty to choose from, friendly and helpful staff, relaxing atmosphere and great service. Definitely go back again! Would highly recommend going to try.
I am not a curry lover, but decided to try a few things I had never eaten before. Lamb was perfectly soft and tasty, the starter and Nan bread really good! Obviously a family business and everyone is knowledgeable about the dishes on offer. Service with a smile too!
Our table was ready for us on arrival and we had the most tasty enjoyable food. This is a very popular restaurant with a very lively atmosphere. The staff are most attentive and the owner and family are delightful. One of our favourite places to eat!
Having booked a table for 7pm via your site, we didn’t actually get sitting down until 7.30pm, which was very disappointing. The food was great though as was the service.
Becoming a regular at the Taal both for eating in and take-out. Never been disappointed yet but still struggle with the size of portions...too big for my wife and me!! Service always good too. During our most recent visit I did mention that many of the dishes were westernised and, having been to India a few times I would appreciate some more authentic dishes. I was told they are always happy to prepare special dishes for guests and promised that on my next visit they would do so for us. I look forward to that and will report on the experience.
Very friendly staff, clean facilities and quick service. The waiters recommendation was spot on. Not too hot and very tasty. Drink selection a bit limited but otherwise a great experience.
Staff were very attentive. Food very tasty. It was the pre Theatre menu which was extensive enough for most tastes. The total cost was much lower than I expected and worth every penny.
Starter was lovely, unfortunately my main course wasn't, the lamb wasn't tender but was very chewy and grisly. Later found out others in the party had a similar problem, the main course meat wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been. I didn't say anything to the restaurant as I didn't want to be the one to put a downer on the occasion when out with friends, wish I had now.
Lovely food, helpful & pleasant staff. Been before & would definitely go back. Easy to find restaurant. Pleasant surroundings and handy for the strathaven mill
We had a Lovely meal, great value for pre theatre menu and very friendly staff- we will be back again soon. Very child friendly as well.
Good friendly service supported by extensive menu and delicious food. If one small issue, portions, of rice and nan were more than enough. Will be back for both sit in (or out by the river if we have some warmer nights) or takeaway.
Our first time visiting Taal since moving to the area. Great food, good atmosphere, and really welcoming staff - especially Dapi and his amusing anecdotes. Will definitely be back.
Excellent experience as always. Superb service and delicious food. This was my mum and dads' first experience of eating here and they thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Food was fab been 20yrs since tasted real Karahi. Be back soon loved it Staff friendly but little slow come with menu and drinks order once we arrived.
as usual an excellent meal good service and friendly staff , the best Indian restaurant in the area by far, and we got some stuff to takeaway which was as good
Lovely meal, well thought out menu, fab friendly staff in a welcoming environment.food was excellent and everything proved good value for money. Would definately return.
Great food and service. Highly recommend, good menu choices, specially for vegetarians, and friendly helpful staff. Happy to amend ingredients to suit the diner's preferences.
This is my second visit to Taal. I live a little ways away, so it's not always easy to get there and get home, but if I lived nearby, I would be tempted to eat there every day. The booking was easy, and the service, as usual, was efficient, friendly, full of humour, and a joy. The food as usual was superb. Of course we ordered way too much, because the entire menu is so tempting, and ended up taking half of it home in containers, which were cheerfully provided by the restaurant staff. Their mixed vegetable pakora is worth a trip to the restaurant on its own (but of course, it's just the start.) No, not an ordinary hunk of vegetable covered in batter, but a whole selection of vegetables, chopped finely, mixed with batter and crisp-fried and brought to the table with an excellent selection of dips. The best I've ever had anywhere. This restaurant is a gem.
This was a first visit with booking made at the last minute. Despite this and an almost empty restaurant the total experience was excellent with attentive service and tasty food. Will definitely be back.
This is a beautiful restaurant sited alongside a brook with outside sitting areas. Fantastic service - although it was quite busy, we were seen straight away, ordered our wine (which was very nice, at the right temperature and complemented the food quite well). The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our starters were served very quickly and we didn't have to wait long for the main course. There was no feeling of rush and everything proceeded at our pace which we thought it was very well done considering how busy the restaurant was! There was a very large selection of vegetarian dishes (for one of the people in our party) and every single dish was just perfect. And an added extra was the price - we would have expected to have to pay at least 30% more than we paid. We're now planning many more regular visits to the Taal in Strathaven. Couldn't fault it in any way.
Food excellent, staff friendly. It was a particularly busy night and we had to wait quite a while for our food but the staff communicated with us throughout and apologised for the delay. Food was delicious and delivered piping hot, it was evident that quality did not suffer despite the restaurant being jam packed.
Lovely place, great service for it being so busy for the Balloon Festival. Food amazing for the Pre-theatre menu - portions plentiful. Great place for family meal
One of the best Indian eating experiences I have had for many years! If you are looking to eat nuclear coloured 'British' curries this place is not for you. There is a nod to real authenticity throughout the menu and the food is plentiful and utterly delicious. The service is exceptional and our waiter was attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. We are from the pre-theatre menu which is good value for such amazing food. The decor is contemporary, yet tasteful and there was a real feel good bubbly atmosphere, even at six o'clock! Highly, highly recommended.
A very enjoyable experience. The food was tasty and well presented. The portions were a good size. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The surroundings were clean and comfortable. There was a decent choice of vegetarian dishes. We will return.
food good service fine, pricing could be better, outside says pre theatre from £8.95 inside its £9,95 other thing misleading says starters vegetable pakora, then says chicken mushroom or cauliflower pakora or all 3 for extra £1.25, what it meant they were all £1.25 extra so the £8.95 outside was now £11.20 pakora for extra £1.25 you would expect a good portion unfortunately not, would I go back probably
We enjoyed an excellent meal at Taal. We had a sharing starter which was almost a meal in itself, but still found room for a delicious main course. The service was attentive without being obtrusive.
Great restaurant. Friendly, efficient service. Lovely food. Good atmosphere. We ate here with friends and had a lovely evening. Ideal for a relaxed fairly casual night out.
A nice evening the service was good. The meal was well presented and very tasty. We plan on returning as we really enjoyed the evening. Nice to have a good meal without feeling rushed.
