We had a superb evening with great food and excellent service, we will definitely be back.

I've been there three times and always had lovely food and lovely service

My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary at lunchtime. We decided on the meze which was excellent. Each item was explained to us and we enjoyed very much. Thank you Syrtaki.

This is the third time I have visited Syrtaki with friends. Wonderful host, very relaxed atmosphere where you are encouraged to stay as long as you want and the very best food I've ever tasted outside of Greece. I have been there and gotten chatting with other diners who were Greek and down from London to eat and loved it. I think that says a huge amount about Syrtaki. Food is plentiful and there is no way you would leave there hungry. I really can't praise highly enough and am planning another visit and introducing more friends to splendid Greek food.

This place is a real find for lovers of everything Greek. Tasty Greek food , friendly staff, good prices what’s not to like. We will be back !

Lovely food and friendly attentive waiter, service wasn’t pressured, gave us time for starters to go down! We had tyrokafteri (feta cheese mousse) and pork meatballs for starters, very tasty and came with warm bread. For mains, pastitsio and kleftico, again very good and the pastitsio portion was huge. We couldn’t manage desserts, there were only about 5 dessert choices but if I had more room (or maybe shared a starter) I would have tried one. Wine was a little pricey (£7 for large glass of house wine) but probably in keeping with other local restaurants. We will definitely come again and recommend to others!

Fantastic fresh food and great service from our waiter who gave us recommendations and was very accommodating with our youngest diner. Ambience is perfect - colourful and relaxed, just like being on holiday!!

We really enjoyed our visit, unfortunately we were level with the door which made it a bit draughty. A screen or porch would have made all the difference. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go again.

Great food however waited almost an hour and half for our mains..

Excellent food and service and very handy for pre theatre dinner. Had the meat moussaka which was delicious and the home made baked custard filo dessert was well worth the 20 minute wait. Have no problem waiting for food to be cooked, at least you know it is fresh (can't stand shop bought desserts). Will definitely return.

We booked3 weeks in advance to turn up and they said would we like to go upstairs we said yes no problem , not knowing there was a huge birthday party on! Sat us in yhe corner under the speaker ( so loud ) 4 people on the table next to us asked loads of time for the music to go down which they did one waiter kept saying sorry to us .. food lovely didn't have deserts just wanted to get out! Overall not a great night

A great local restaurant. Food was delicious and very fresh. The kitchen is open, so you can see the food being cooked. Quite spacious and the seats are comfortable. A little noisy, until you get used to it. Will definitely go again.

First visit after excellent recommendation from two different sources. Very glad we did as it was a very good meal, attentive and efficient service and a warm welcome. Even a free dessert! The menu is varied with a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options and it is reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic Greek food with some of them to be very original and traditional . Reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. Personally I think it’s one of the best in Southend.

Excellent food and service, we chose the mezee super starters various Greek dips with pitta followed hot starters meatballs, Greek sausage second course, fish dish and finally mixed kebabs. Excellent value. Stavos was a great host. Will be back very soon
