Sokrates Taverna - Horwich

Chose to have the meze but we didn’t get any stifado or meatballs. Waited but nobody came to the table and by the time they did we were ready for home. Also my husband was without a drink for a long time and again nobody came so we cut the night short, went without dessert and went home. Restaurant was busy but we were a bit disappointed as we love the food here.

Really friendly. The food was excellent and atmosphere was brilliant too.

Great food. Have eaten here on numerous occasions and it is always good. The staff are a pleasure to to deal with.

Such a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff who were more than happy to help us choose from the menu as it was our first time eating at Sokrates. The food was absolutely outstanding and we both are exited to go back and have the mezze as recommended. For a Tuesday, the restaurant was packed as we left which is testament to how amazing this place is. Amazing!

First time visit. We were made to feel very welcome. Our orders were spot on, even with the tweaks we asked for. The food was amazingly good. I couldn't eat all my main course and was offered the rest as take away. No need to ask! Will definitely be going again.

Great authentic Greek food. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff and the lady was kind enough to explain what the dishes were, as my partner had not eaten greek food before. The cheesecake is to die for. We will be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Atmosphere was not bad considering everything that made it has been removed like the table lighting. But food was great. So was the service and friendly staff, credit to them for the effort they had put in. It was nice to actually sit down in a restaurant and have a great meal with good company

A local place for us that we frequent a lot.... Not the vibrance that it had ...but under the current circumstances that is to be expected Keeping social distance seems to be putting more pressure on the staff but they coped well Bit of a wait on food and drinks ...but well worth the wait as always
