Always amazing food here I come every single week and the staff can't do enough for you! My favourite curry place in Leeds city centre by far!
Love coming here, the food and service are excellent. We like to come early doors on a Saturday tea time after shopping in Leeds. Great end to a perfect day
Great atmosphere, first class service, fantastic food, best we have had in a long time, looking forward to returning the next time we visit Leeds
Excellent good food good service couldn't fault it would recommend it to my family and friends we enjoyed it would go again 10 out of 10
Excellent food and service as always.Lamb Nehari the main standout and amazing naan bread! Waiting staff are always friendly and not pushy like some other restaurants!
Booked for 7.00pm, waited over half an hour to be seated, which wasn't pleasant as I walk with a stick and have difficulty standing for that long. Once seated, tried to give us wrong drinks order and tried to give our food to the next table. Our starters were fine but our main courses were luke warm and mediocre at best. Mid meal drinks order brought only 3 of the 4 drinks ordered. Asked if we wanted coffee or desserts and as soon as we said no thank you they asked us to leave as they wanted the table. Felt unwelcome from beginning to end really. This was 36 years to the day of my first date with my husband to the Shabab (on Eastgate) which used to be fab, will never go again.
Nice starters didn't get our main meal as we waited hr and a half very poor service and miserable staff would not return ever, crap
Always a joy to eat are Shebab . Staff are always attentive and the food is of the highest quality. I had the haleem soup which was truly delicious. I had a kanu as main it was a stunning mixture of flavours with chicken mango and cashew nuts Finished off with a heavenly Gulub Japan A really excellent meal.
Good food, nice restaurant. A return visit as had previously enjoyed a meal here, and was not disappointed. Prices are also very reasonable. Busy even on a Sunday night.
This is the first time we have visited Shabab since it has been located in Bishopsgate, Leeds, (we went many years ago when it was in Eastgate) and we are so pleased that we went. My husband and I were both very impressed with the food which was delicious and we really enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and surroundings in the restaurant. The service was very good with friendly and efficient staff, and we were pleasantly surprised when we received our bill which we thought was very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
Excellent surroundings and decor , delicious food with great service from great people that can not do enough for you. A little pricey but well worth it .
Hi we were running 20 minutes late but I went into the restaurant and explained. When everyone arrived we had to wait while a trestle table was set up under the stairs. Not very comfy at a trestle table and odd chairs. But we managed
When thinking of going out for a curry I would wholeheartedly recommend the Shabab. I've eaten at all the well known curry houses in both Leeds and Bradford and none can match the Shabab. Great food , great service and good value for money.
it was superb food and service as always. this curry house is definitely one of the best in Leeds City Centre, would highly recommend to anyone.
Very welcoming and friendly. The service was fantastic. Food was excellent. I have been about 6 times now and they are still very consistant. Would recommend to anyone, one of the best in Leeds city centre in my opinion.
Amazing food, fantastic service and value for money, second visit from out of area, will definitely recommend and will return next time we visit Leeds 😀
One of the best curries in leeds, great staf, really quick service bit cramped to other tables but other than that a great experience was ahd
Service excellent. Prices reasonable. Food absolutely outstanding. A good range of traditional choices and some we have never experienced before. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
I booked the table for eight people for 20:00 via the Quandoo web site (which was very easy to do I might add) and when we got there we had to wait for ten minutes as it was very busy and every table was taken. When we finally sat down we had popudums and pickle tray and drinks which was quite nice although they took 15 minutes to come. I thought I would have a couple of starters as a change - big mistake - the onion bhaji that came first you needed to have concrete teeth as the batter was so hard and the second starter (which came when the other people has their mains) was billed as a unique taste experience and was awful. It was just a spicy soup which left a very bad aftertaste and I can't remember what it was called. I should have bypassed starters and just had a main course as the rest of my party said the food was very nice so my fault doing that but you really shouldn't go wrong ordering just starters. I don't think a return trip will be happening any time soon.
Usual excellent service and food. Nothing more needs to be said but unfortunately there is a minimum word count of twenty five words on this review hence my waffling...
I love this place. From the amazing Indian wooden chased panels, subdued lighting and embroidered umbrellas decorating the ceiling to the authentic tastes of India. The enormous family Naan hung on a spike in the centre of the table allows all the guests to rip off as much as they want. I had a meat platter which had 5 small bowls of different curries a starter and a sweet . From the succulent lamb Achai to a sweet chicken Korma. It was a shame some of the sweet menu was not available but the Gulub Jaman and home made Kulfi Ice cream were really tasty . Definitely recommended.
Staff were lovely and very well mannered. The food was brilliant. I highly recommend Shabab to anybody who comes to visit Leeds. It was also very affordable
Lovely friendly atmosphere, great selection of dishes. Food always spot on and service 2nd to none. Always my 1st choice Indian Restaurant when in Leeds.
Food was excellent. Service was quick and hassle free. Very polite staff. Prices were extremely reasonable especially drinks. Would definitely visit again and I highly recommend
Very good meal all round, it was our departmental Christmas meal and was a great success. Tasty food and reasonably priced.
There is an Interesting and varied menu, the food was full of pronounced but subtle flavours, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly attentive service; excellent!
Great food, great service and nice surroundings. The matter shazlik starter is probably the best I have ever had! I've been twice now and would definitely go again.
Food good, service good. Would definitely use again. We were in a party of 6 we all had different meals and everyone enjoyed. Pleased to see the restaurant was busy from early in the evening.
Fantastic food, service, atmosphere, & value for money as always. Really enjoyed the whole evening. Cannot wait for the next time we visit the Shabab.
Nice clean restaurant, staff were good and polite just the waiting time for our meal seem to take forever but won't put us off from going back as the meals were delicious.
The atmosphere was lovely athough a little dark to read the menu as it was on dark card. The food was gorgeous and the staff very friendly attentive and helpful
Good food, good service, would recommend , always one to try when in Leeds. Don't like paying for pickle tray though, it should come as part of the poppadoms
If you're looking for a nice Indian meal in Leeds, look no further than Shabab. We were there for New Years eve and it didnt dissappoint. Lovely food and we had the lovely Corina looking after us. It's not the first time we've been and it wont be the last.
Slightly unusual take on classic indian dishes (in a good way) and the largest naan breads in the world. Not cheap but still good value.
Really nice food and kind staff! But of confusion over the order but other then that it was great. I would recommend. Could have a better wine menu
My only niggle is that the restaurant is dimly lit which made reading the menu challenging, but the food was amazing. Best Chicken Pakora ever!
Service was excellent. We were a little late for our reservation but nothing was too much trouble. Food, second to none. We will be back soon.
Lovely place, food was delicious and quick service. All that was needed to make it perfect was an occasional smile from the staff. Would recommend.
We loved the food. Would recommend the seafood starter for two. Very good service. The staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely eat there again.
On a busy night the service was quick and efficient, the food was served hot and it was tasty, overall a good experience and well worth a visit.
Food and service was excellent. Manager berated a member of staff quite loudly and publicly which was a little embarrassing. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable experience.
It was lovely food and a friendly service. Me and my partner would definately go again. The staff recommended which food to order and was great.
The food wasn't good, the manager wasn't interested and offered money off the bill, we told him this wasn't the issue but he wouldn't listen, we wont be returning.
I and my friends had a great experience, we were well looked after by courteous and attentive staff despite it being an obviously busy night. The food was of good portions and very tasty, will definitely visit again
Visited this restaurant twice now and on both occasions me and my family have really enjoyed the food the service and the surroundings, even my 8 year old granddaughter loves it I would highly recommend shabab would be a great venue for big parties too
Food excellent service a little slow certain staff seemed confused we ordered a bottle of wine with our meal we had to ask for it twice as it was still at the bar waiter said we wondered which table this belonged to my wife ordered a sweet from one waiter we waited for ages then another waiter came to see if she was enjoying her sweet which she did not have ,my wife ordered Banana split to which the second waiter said we don't have that so why did the first waiter take her order ?? so we did not bother ,Think certain waiters need a wake up call they were quick to bring us the BILL Though,as I said the food is fab some of the best indian food in Leeds good atmosphere we will definitely be coming back as we live in and work in Leeds.
Very accommodating restartaurant with excellent service and good food. Menu was varied and good value for money. Would highly recommend Shabab to anyone + +
Early meal before going to the Arena for a show. Great service and food was outstanding - the only thing that stopped me giving full marks was that the place was being cleaned and staff were walking through the restaurant with bags of rubbish - not best sight during our starters. But will come back.
Fantastic place to eat. Friendly efficient staff and delicious food. Best Dhal anywhere. I have been several times and it is always amazing. Good location too, right by the train station.
not been to Shabab for a few years. I was impressed, Food excellent, service very good especially as it was a busy Friday evening Will be going back
