San Lorenzo - Gosforth

Excellent service and friendly staff. Good choice and quality of food as always. We have never had a bad meal and the price is very reasonable too.

We think it's a tad overpriced. A special menu consisting only of 2 starters and 2mains we ordered), bottle house wine and a shared dessert for 2 = £77!! Yes our decision, but still overpriced

It was lovely and warm temperature wise. Some many restaurants are cold in January. The service and food were good. Good value lunch - 3 courses and a glass of wine under £20.

Good meal, generous helpings, although the calamari starter could have been better - too much batter, not enough squid (pointed out at the time). Restaurant very busy when we arrived, and hence pretty noisy, but overall, a good place - we'll be back.

Great Vegan January restaurant week menu. Great food, good service and superb value. The atmosphere in the restaurant is classic Italian - nice buzz about it. Overall brilliant

Went for the vegan restaurant menu, which was amazing, especially the moving mountains burger and the chocolate torte! Absolutely delicious! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Really hoping the vegan burger will stay, will definitely be back

Excellent food, wonderful staff and brilliant atmosphere. Eat here every couple of months and it never dissapoints. Well done to all Involved for creating such a wonderful environment.

My father wasn’t impressed with the ‘best’ wine as a bottle half the price down the road had more notes and taste. My mother who did taste it said it was ok, so we don’t have a leg to stand on. My father mentioned his opinion to the waiter who was great, the manager however seem to have the same high level of customer service.. I’ve been it better and worse places, I believe the staff make all the difference to an enjoyable experience, food was great maybe the management can get some tips from the rest of the staff on how to interact with customers when everything isn’t going to plan.

Lovely evening for a quiet date night, great atmosphere, delicious food and fab service. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the very near future!

All the food was great and the service was good too but unfortunately they didn’t have a button for 25%off even though I had a voucher for that so i only got 20% off this is really disappointing

The excellent atmosphere, service and food guarantee a positive experience. Having eaten in San Lorenzo many times it only enhances the comfort in making a return visit.

Excellent service delicious food this was our third visit here and will certainly be returning. There’s lots of choices & good value... also alcohol free drink options which is refreshing.

Lovely restaurant, good service, excellent food - really enjoyable evening all round and would definitely recommend. Only downside is that it was very noisy - lots of chatter and hard to have a conversation with other people on the table.

Booked using the quandoo app, as always San Lorenzo were proffesional in the way that they served us. Got seated straight away and the food was outstanding as always. Highly recommend them to anyone. Will be back again soon.

Great food and great service, recommend the pink fizz on a Friday night, lovely flavouring and even better price. Pasta cooked to perfection with some alternative flavourings from the menu. Not the bog standard Italian

The restaurant was packed and full of people. As a result, the restaurant was very warm and my date grew sleepy. Due to the busy-ness, they brought out a dish that I hadn't ordered so we had to wait for them to remake it.

Really friendly atmosphere even though it was a busy Saturday night. Nothing too much trouble for the staff who were really friendly and efficient. Food was great with some excellent choices on the specials menu along with their great selection from their normal menu. Well worth a visit but I would suggest you book if going on a weekend as it's really popular.

Service and food excellent, we were seated immediately and the restaurant was busy but did not affect the attention we got. Drinks we ordered were good too.

Wide menu choice, bright contemporary surroundings, friendly staff. This was New Year's Eve, and it was busy and noisy. The service was good with no unreasonable waiting. Food cooked perfectly. King scallops for starter followed by halibut. A bit expensive, but it was New Year's Eve, and the service and food were very good.

Great food enjoyed by all for a lovely 3 course meal. Enjoyable atmosphere in the restaurant. All staff were welcoming and helpful especially with a young baby.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and the food is always excellent. We took friends that were new to the restaurant, they will certainly be back.

I was here with coworkers to celebrate. The menu has lots of variety to suit GF, vegetarians, and health conscious eaters. We will come back again soon! We didn't have a lot of time to eat, so were able to pre-order our meals so that we could maximise our time together.

My husband and I came here spontaneously after a long day. While I was waiting for him, the wait staff made me feel comfortable, refilling my water and chatting occasionally. I didn't feel awkward at all. The food was lovely and we were able to relax and soak up the atmosphere of the bustling restaurant at the end of a long day.

Best sit-down Italian food in Gosforth, if not all of Newcastle upon Tyne! I always get their Gnocci San Lorenzo and its amazing every time!

Mussels again were amazing. Great service and atmosphere. Only critique would be the choice of savignon blanc on wine list, there's only two at a fair price and neither are very nice.

San Lorenzo always offers a friendly and efficient service with well priced and enjoyable meals. A regular for many people on a busy high street.
