San Giovanni

We booked on Friday online and managed to get a table for 2 for Saturday night . Booking at the weekend is essential. The staff are very helpful and the food is delicious. We did find the restaurant very noisy as there were several groups/ party’s in but we were served quite quickly but not rushed, will be back.

Helpful, fun, efficient and tasty, our party of eight were fully satisfied with our choices, I had Venison which was just as I requested, we will be back.

Really friendly staff, authentic Italian food, great atmosphere and very reasonably priced. We had a great time for my friend's birthday and they even organised a free birthday pudding/ song for her which she loved. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again!

Another fantastic evening at this little gem! New Year’s Eve and a set menu but everything was up to the usual high standard. Service was excellent (as usual)!! Thanks for another lovely evening and we’ll see you soon!

Great food Italian pasta, great house wine and great service ( very friendly staff and professional ). Very pleased with this restaurant on my first visit.

Excellent staff excellent food as it's near Christmas there was some loud noise from kids not the restaurants fault but the parents!!

First time ever I had to send the meal back because it was over cooked. But it was sorted out with no fuss. Well done

Three of us ate her on Saturday evening for the first time. The food was very good, the service was excellent and there was a very friendly atmosphere within the restaurant.

Six retired work colleagues enjoyed a very nice meal at San Giovanni's. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicioius. We'll certainly repeat the booking next Christmas. My only disappointment as an Italophile was the complete absence of Italians!

Fab as always, and look forward to returning with the family in the near future.

excellent meal but as the place was full it was very noisy so it was difficult to hold a conversation but would definitely go again as the food was excellent.

My fiancé and I are here on a Friday night at 8pm. The atmosphere was great. We both really enjoyed our meals and the wine list is great too.

Really tasty food at fair prices - I had a wonderful monkfish dish from the specials. Wonderful atmosphere on Friday evening but still maintained good service.

Came here on a Sunday evening. The food, staff and atmosphere were all wonderful and for a fantastic price as well . We will definitely be returning to San Giovani’s in the near future.

Booked for a Saturday night 18.30 , table ready and waiting. Excellent service, excellent food (steaks) Well stocked bar. Would recommend to anybody, Great Italian.

Soup too salty Meal was not enjoyable at all Vegetables appeared to have been cooked and kept warm and didn't taste fresh Chicken in res wine say e was rubbery and tasted more like tomato ketchup not enjoyable at all couldnt eat any of it sat and watched husband eat what he had to eat then left

Absolutely delicious, and excellent service - the waiters/waitresses were extremely attentive. Already planning another visit with family. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Thank you Quandoo for a taking our booking for our celebrationary 25th weddings anniversary meal at San Giovanni in Urmston. We were greeted with a smile and the place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere the food and house wine was excellent ,in total we had a wonderful evening fitting for such a special occasion . Lovelynne food and excellent customer service. My clumsy husband knocked over a "full " glass of red wine and the waiter moved us to a different table with minimum fuss.

Busy restaurant with lots of covers but could have done with more attentive staff. Restaurant was rather dated and the food we had was average. I had the salmon but the plate had a lot of oil floating round the plate once served which slightly spoilt it for me as I was trying to go for a healthy option. My partner had the lobster filled parcel pasta which he actually said tasted of just cheese! Wont be rushing back!

Waiters had a great sense of humour and the food was as good as always!!! Nice to see under the new ownership the standards are the same.

Very friendly, good svs, tasty food. Great that they have half portions on the risotto, as allows for more courses. Nice touch with the candle in the profiterole and a song for the birthday boy.

As ever a very good experience at San Giovanni. Service was excellent, very quick and attentive but not intrusive and the food was top quality! Steaks cooked absolutely to perfection - despite all three that we ordered being different. Highly recommended - the fact this restaurant is always busy tells you what you need to know

We went on a Friday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant was nearly full and the atmosphere was great with a real buzz around the place. Great food, good service and good value for money.

Great surroundings, we both ordered pasta which was really nice tasty and decent portion size. Nice to be in somewhere that was busy midweek great atmosphere. No complaints would certainly visit again

This restaurant has always been one of our favourites, and have been going for many years. I’m not sure what has happened recently, but the other night my sea bream and my daughters prawns were under cooked, almost raw in places. We had the same issue at Xmas with prawns. The staff very quickly sorted the issue and new food was given. They were very apologetic and din’t Charge for the meal.

The best steaks in Manchester! The staff are very friendly and good with the kids. The food is top notch, we've been many times and never been disappointed.

Service was a little slow but the food was fantastic, staff were very friendly, one of the waiters was funny, had a wonderful evening, need to go again soon.
