Always lovely food and staff look after you and i think good value for money . The menu is not something you will find in many places , so for a great change , try here .

Another great meal, lovely way to start the new year. Atmosphere was as always relaxed the staff were friendly as they normally are. Looking forward to visiting during 2019

Putting it simply...Service was excellent, food was better. If you haven't being here before, then give it a try it gets busy so you might need to book a table.

Lovely food at very reasonable prices - the dosas in particular are delicious. What's more, they have the friendliest and most accommodating staff I've come across! Very pleasant place to eat.

On 6th December I took 4 friends who had not eaten at Ruchie before though 2 of them had heard about how good the food was from other friends. Nice food and friendly staff. We were seated by the front door and it was draughty on regular occasions as customers arrived and left. Put a lobby in!

Good food from a friendly, family restaurant and the cost was reasonable. It is true you are spoilt for your eating out experience in Shirley now but I would certainly return to Ruchie

The food was amazing with lots of choice. Good service and really friendly staff. This was my second visit and the first time for my friends. They will definitely be back.

Beautifully presented food and excellent service. My chicken tikka starter was delicious probably the best I have had. I asked for my chicken and spinach meal to be made hotter and it was perfect.

Service was very good. Recommended chicken dishes for us which were both excellent. Also recommended a type of bread which we had but we didn’t really like it so it was changed straight away and we were not charged for it. Overall it was great and we will be returning

Excellent food, southern Indian, so quite different to usual Indian curry....but really nice. management are really lovely as well, nothing is too much trouble. Nice atmosphere and Would definitely recommend

The Menu was different and the food was delicious. The staff were welcoming, informed, efficient and friendly. The restaurant was very busy and the atmosphere was cordial . We had a very enjoyable evening. This was our second visit to Richie and we had recommended it to our friends, they were also impressed and will definitely go again.

Fabulous food - not the usual same old same old - very varied menu - lovely staff - nothing too much trouble . Nicely decorated - cannot rate highly enough - wonderful addition to Shirley !!!!

As always the staff warmly welcomed us into the restaurant. All the dishes we ordered were delicious (so well cooked) compliments to the chefs! It was the first visit for our daughter & son & they loved the food & were impressed with the service. The only comment our daughter had was that she felt the lighting in the restaurant was too bright & she prefers more of a 'night time ambiance of candles & lamplighting' nonetheless she enjoyed the evening as we all did.

First visit, service a bit haphazard - swings between lots of attention and none - the food is fabulous - lots of fresh flavours and delicious - staff are very friendly but all look a little stressed - they need to be more confident in this venture as the food speaks for itself. All reasonably priced - I wish them great success.

A lovely restaurant with friendly helpful staff who are always available to help you with your choices of either food or drinks. The menu selection is good, and the food when served is hot and freshly cooked. Thoroughly recommend it.

AMAZING food! Only downside was slightly slow service...but if you're not in a rush....this is definitely an AMAZING place to go. Had the chicken curry from the Executive Lunch menu and it was SUPERB.

Food great nice decor staff well presented pity the owners couldn't dress more professionally instead of wearing woolie jumper and a sports T shirt only thing that lets it down. Would still go again regardless

Food was really lovely, really flavoursome, a different experience. Not your typical Indian restaurant. The atmosphere was lively, very busy at 8.30 on a Friday evening. The staff were engaging and helpful. My only gripe was being kept waiting for my starter after my friends had been served theirs. My starter was delivered to the wrong table in error but the waitress was more than apologetic and went back to the kitchen to get me another one. Other than that we found the prices very reasonable for the quality of food we had. We will certainly be returning.

My partner and so went here for the first time tonight and we will definitely be going back. The food was exceptional and there were plenty of veggie options for me to chose from

Ruchie is a rare treat. An independent restaurant run by people who love food and want to give you a good time. If you like Indian Food, you will love Ruchie.....try it.

The service was pretty slow, took over an hour for our main to arrive. However the salmon roast was very delicious, Interesting ingredients, definitely you will taste something different there. Lamb curry was very basic. Staff very friendly and attentive.

A really enjoyable evening enhanced by wonderful staff and beautiful food, everything was excellent service, food quality, atmosphere. The food flavour was an excellent balance of flavour and spice.

Nice relaxed feel to this restaurant. Quite busy and buzzing but no-one was dashing around or hurrying us. Food was excellent and rather different. Not all staff were totally up to speed but all were very pleasant.

Generally a pleasant experience and decent food. If im picking holes id say the yoing blond haired waiter was a waste of space. Seemed clueless and kept saying "sweet" and called me mate. The other staff were superb though, very attentive. My started was very odd.... chilli fish. It was like chinese sweet and sour with chilli in. Mains. Lamb curry was superb. Overall i liked it and would like to try more from the menu.

This was an excellent experience at this new restaurant in Shirley. The starters were spectacular and the mains exceptional. They do an enticing range of cocktails both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and a small but versatile selection of wines by the glass. Looking forward to a repeat visit fairly soon.

Very friendly staff, attentive but not pushy. Good decor tables not too close to each other. Food excellent , great choice menu. Fresh ,tasty,yummy. We will be back soon!

Authentic South Indian food is not available anywhere else in the Midlands. Very tasty dishes from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Best Coconut Chutney in the UK. Must visit again and again.

Excellent service. Our waiter was very attentive. Food arrived on time. Since we are from Southern India, the food was a little bland but good. Will recommend this restaurant to any one.
