We ordered drinks and was given a pickle tray before ordering our meal. We ordered fish pakoras and mushroom Pakoras as starters and 2 main meals with rice and chapattis. The starters were shocking. The batter was bricklayer standard, hard and inedible. Never had pakoras so bad. Rock solid they were. We paid for our pickle tray and drinks and left. It is not acceptable for restaurants to serve food to customers executed in such a poor standard and expect them to put up with it. The waiter said he had passed onto the chef the problem of the batter being way too thick. We will not be returning any time soon. Not a great experience unfortunately.

Such a busy place, queues out the door when it opened, but pre booked and managed to get a table. Food and service always great and even took a second curry home for another day! Best curry house ever.

Never disappointed, large portions beautifully cooked, looking forward to my next visit

We were a little late for our booking but staff were ready with poppadoms and dips as soon as we were seated. Dips were fresh and tasty. We shared starters thankfully as the portions were large! They were delicious and we finished them. We thought we’d not fit our mains in but they were also delicious and we gave it our best shot. All curries arrived in red hot heavy based dishes so we could take our time without them going cold. Staff put the leftovers in doggy bags to bring home. Hot towels and a chocolate rounded the evening off. This was a return visit and we will return again.

The food was certainly good but the service was not very good. The noise level was high but it was a bank holiday weekend so to be expected. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed.

We didn’t have to wait long for our food which was lovely, and the staff were very pleasant. Will definitely go again.

The staff were great, but the restaurant was understaffed and it was extremely busy. Meal was good. Did not enjoy being upstairs with all the large parties. Will probably not visit again during a weekend. Our mid week experiences have always been really good.

Everything was fine, apart from the fact that the waiter brought us the bill as soon as we had finished the main course (but we hadn't actually asked for the bill at that point and were thinking about ordering some coffees to complete the meal). Not sure why he assumed we weren't going to order anything else??
