Excellent quality and service. We enjoyed our meal very much. It was served in an elegant and relaxed manner. Honestly it was the best sushi ever!
Food was beautiful and great service, lovely atmosphere. Was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. First time we have been and would go again
Great sushi with a really nice set up for an intimate dining experience without being on top of one another. Lovely attentive staff as well!
Lovely ambiance and food piping hot and beautifully cooked...but if you go on a travelzoo voucher be aware that some of the desserts are not on it...we were charged £5 extra for a£10.50 dessert...a little extravagant when the other desserts were around £8.50 and in the offer
Fantastic food and great service. The sharing platter is to die for. Duck and beef dishes are wonderful. Spider crab too. My new fave restaurant.
Excellent food and service in comfortable surroundings. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
Amazing experience, our 3rd visit and wont be our last as it never disappoints. Great to watch skilked chefs in the kitchen and atmosphere is great- food like non I've had before!
As ever a superb night at Oginos. This restaurant never fails to deliver amazing food with excellent staff, visually the food looks incredible and the flavours are a taste experience. I love the fact I always get something new to try the menu is never dull and desserts are completely different to anything I have eaten anywhere else, the green tea and tofu doughnuts were delicious but my friends choices were equally so. A great night had by all.
Great food, with friendly relaxed service and stylish ambiance. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this restaurant, whether or not they are familiar with Japanese food.
We visit Ogino fairly regularly and again it was fantastic food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. We mentioned it was our anniversary and they even brought out a sparkler with one of the desserts we ordered!
Absolutely beautiful food and fantastic service! Will definitely be returning and bringing family and friends with me so they can enjoy the amazing experience too!
The only issue that we had were the drinks. Wine was OK but pricey, and they only had Japanese beer, not my favourite. The food was out of this world. And decent size portions as well. Mixed starter was great, "Zensai" I had the pork "Buta ", my wife had the fillet "Ushi". Both were superb. The Ushi was so full of flavour and tender. I had Kakuni Fried rice, and my wife had the Garlic Butter rice (that was the best) Dessert was cheesecake for her and ice cream for me. Best we has had for ages. We WILL be going back.....
The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. The staff are friendly but polite and are very knowledgable. It is a pleasure to eat there.
Excellent as usual. Service is first class and the food awesome. Price was reasonable. We really enjoyed our date night. Well done all at Ogino.
Food, restaurant setting and staff were all great but unfortunately our table was right near the kitchen door and with it being a busy restaurant there were a lot of comings and goings, got a bit much towards the end of the meal.
It’s alway amazing but tonight we went and they have Sushi Wednesdays. Normally don’t bother with set menus cause there’s generally not a great choice but Ogino have there set menu game on! The Sushi Wednesdays set menu was incredible. The pickled fish (which makes my mouth water thinking about it) appetiser I initially thought was a little small but then they brought out a miso soup, which they got the balance on perfectly. Between my husband and I, we were then served 16 sushi rolls, 8 were beef (Gyu-maki) and 8 were tempura prawn, with fish eggs and avocado layer on the top, which was the specia of the day that they’d called a Deagon Roll. I’d also recommend the lunch menu. They only have it available over the weekend but the price is brilliant, the choice is excellent and the food is to sublime!
I finally made it for their Wednesday deal and it did not disappoint. Really great mid week food, my sushi roll was amazing and it comes with a small starter and miso soup and a glass of wine. Yum
Fabulous s food as always. Miserable staff unfortunately. Not very friendly when asking if it possible to make a couple of changes. A “no” would have been OK rather than a tut and rolling of eyes.
Everything was excellent - lovely restaurant, Wednesday night is Sushi night which is a great offer, staff all very friendly and the food was exceptional. We will be returning on a regular basis.
Excellent food , first class service , each dish explained in full by our knowledgeable waitress , seated in the private party area sets the scene with it's colourful furnishings - our favourite restaurant 👍
Overall not bad. However, there were a few points we did not like at all. We did not like the fake chemical (and cheap) wasabi sauce that was provided. I expected home made wasabi, not store bought artificial wasabi - you can tell from the taste and the colour. Also, we did not like the dishes already pre-filled with soy sauce - which is like bringing a main course already covered with condiments (salt, vinegar, etc.). Everyone has their own personal preferences and this is taken away from the customer. Normally, the dish is brought out to you empty and you can then add as much soy sauce as you like. As it was the dish was brought out swimming with soy sauce and it made a weak soy sauce/wasabi sauce. The roasted green tea was disappointing. Very weak and lacking in flavour. Moreover, the water in the teapot had a very strong chemical/chlorine taste, which was a bit odd and ruined it a bit. I've had much better roasted green tea and wasn't impressed with this one, especially given as it wasn't cheap at 4.50.
Very good Japanese food, menu good a well explained Service excellent and helpful with menu Surroundings pleasant location good We will go back there again
Great food. Really friendly staff and nice environment. Sushi was excellent and hot mains and desserts were very tasty. Great choice. And a great evening. Highly recommend.
Beautiful food, lovely staff and a fabulous experience. We went for my daughters 15th birthday and the staff very kindly and unexpectedly brought her desert over with a sparkler in.
Very fresh fish and seafood. I always go for lunch as it’s much less busy than the evenings. The black sesame creme brûlée is divine.
Excellent food and service. An interesting new menu since last visit. The staff were particularly helpful with menu choices. A highlight was the range of new desserts - delicious!
Lovely quick and attentive service. Variety of options and caters for dietary requirements well :) There is the option of a set menu (Tues-Thurs) if you are not feeling too flush or if you are new to Japanese as well as a full range of prices and options if you want to try more. Gorgeous setting and will definitely be getting dressed up and going again :D
Another fab night at our favour restaurant. As always an excellent service and food as always. Looking forward to my next visit, hopefully very soon.
Beautiful tasting food that look like works of art in a lovely setting. 3 of our party hadn't been to a Japanese before and didn't know what to expect but we're extremely impressed. We were lucky enough to be seated in a booth which we loved. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be revisiting.
Food and service could not be faulted. Not rushed at all - a perfect evening was had by all and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great venue, very helpful and understanding staff regarding allergy, good selection on menu and food excellent. Just to high priced to think of taking a hungry family.
Fabulous food and seating well spaced. Service was excellent from start to finish and it was lovely to see chefs working in what looked to be a very calm and relaxed kitchen. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience, thanks to all at Ogino!
Excellent dining experience Restaurant very spacious & well laid out staff very informative and helpful in explaining dishes The food was delicious , highly recommended
We had a great time. Fantastic service. Friendly staff who were very efficient. Quite pricey
Excellent food as always. The only negative was the veg side was a bit basic (bean sprouts and peppers) and not worth the money, I'd expect some pak choi or mushrooms to liven it up a bit.
We had a great experience at Ogino, the food was excellent, everything tasted amazing and was really well presented. The staff were excellent and could't do enough for you. We will certainly be returning.
Food as usual was absolutely amazing, waiting over an hour for our starter when people who arrived after us were served as not so good. We were almost at the point of walking out.
Great food, staff and atmosphere. Never disappoints. Excellent choice of meats (not just fish!) Steaks are amazing and all dishes are served with excellent presentation.
Had a great evening trying lots of different things including a saki tasting. Staff and the whole experience was great, a little pricey but worth it as a treat.
Top class quality and service, great choice of food excellent atmosphere, a real treat to be repeated a real gem of a restaurant in this area
The meal was good, but not outstanding. We had been twice before, so perhaps our expectations were too high. We started with the sharing platter for two - 5 different elements, but each portion was two bites, so we were quite full before the main course came. Again the portion size was large - we mentioned this in passing to the waitress who said they had previously had complaints about the smallness of the portion sizes ..... personally, I can't imagine why. For me, the outstanding taste was the chicken thigh on the tasting platter; closely followed by the squid in tempura (the batter could have been a fraction lighter, for my taste, but the squid was exquisite!)
Really good experience - very busy but service was spot on
Been to oginos Many times and the food always amazes me. Such detail in all the courses, some people may be put off that they think of Japanese food as been sushi, but they do more traditional meals like steak, duck breast, and pork belly.
Amazing as always, great service even better food ! Really can’t recommend it enough
Lovely atmosphere, incredibly professional staff, and the food is superb. My advice is to order what you want and like the look of, not what you feel you should be eating. Having said that the signature rolls are amazing, we had the Tempura prawn signature roll and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten...
Delicious. Fantastic service as always in Ogino. We visited the restaurant across lunchtime and we were able to select meals from the main menu or a “lunchtime” menu. I’m not sure the potion sizes are the same for lunch, but we were suitably satisfied. We can’t wait for our next visit.
Excellent food and service. Wonderful atmosphere. Such a wide choice on the menu, something to suit all tastes. All the staff were extremely polite and friendly.
Food was good as always. It was just one person was a little too grumpy it was as if that person wanted to throw the food across the table because they were in a bad mood. Other that that I would still recommend the restaurant to others.
Lovely atmosphere, very quick service, excellent choice on the menu and very helpful staff. I would absolutely recommend this and dine here again. Thanks you.
From making the initial booking, somebody contacted me to let me know my Gluten free & Dairy free intolerances would be best met by pre-ordering my meal, and then a reminder call as I had forgotten. The restaurant setting, the service, and the food were all excellent, the sharing platter was amazing as was the Suzuki sea bass main meal was delicous to eat and look at, and well worth waiting for (they had a large party in and they did apologise for the delay in bringing the main) but it wasn't too long, and was handled proffesionally, my husband wasn't originally keen on Japanese but is now a convert, it was truly excellent!
