The food is wonderfully delicious 😋. The staff is attentive (but not obtrusive) and knowledgeable of what’s on the menu and had ideas/ suggestions on what to try on the menu. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Very good food. Contemporary traditional Japanese with a twist. Sushi, sashimi, tempura; then for example venison gyoza! Delicious; nice staff, dull room, no pop....but to eat? Fab

Amazing as always. I would seriously recommend the soft shell crab sushi roll and the duck for a main. You have to go in knowing it is expensive (which it very much is). But once you get over that initial shock it is probably the best japanese food I have had in England, period - and it is right here on our doorstep! Also probably the only Japanese place I have been to where the deserts are worth getting, the sesame seed crème brûlée is particularly good.

Delicious food, beautifully presented. Personally I'd like the sushi rolls to be a bit smaller, they are a little difficult to manhandle! I also found the menu difficult to see, the grey text doesn't help but that really is a minor issue. Will definitely return :-)

Fantastic! Well worth the prices. Packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, staff lovely and attentive. The atmosphere and environment was lovely too. Faultless! Although- beware of steps ...you have to climb a flight of stairs to get in.

Great feed. Drink selection could be better but sushi top draw. Tempura crab rolls are aces. Some of the waitresses need to be a bit sharper on their game for the price

Excellent experience, the food was delicious and the staff and service were very efficient and helpful. I would definitely recommend Ogino food and share my experience with others. Overall, I would rate Ogino as exceptional, as would my friend who accompanied me. We will definitely be returning!

We used a voucher from Travelzoo and had 3 courses for £55 for 2 people, which was excellent value. The restaurant was busy and had a friendly feel. We started with the sharing platter, which was delicious, and for mains we had the sea bass and the beef, which were both excellent. We both chose the rice side dish which was recommended for the mains we had. This cost extra, but after the large starter, I was too full to finish it. Fortunately we were given enough time to digest the main course before dessert arrived. I would certainly recommend this restaurant, although it isn't cheap. The meals we had would have cost about £78 at full price, so the deal was really good value. The service was good, and the staff were unobtrusive but attentive.

This place is a hidden gem. The food was excellent, and service was very good. I recommend the blue snow sushi rolls. The only problem is the vegetarian dishes have to ordered in advance.

We pushed te boat out for our daughters 21st and had an unforgettable experience. The Japanese inspired cocktails were lovely and complimented the meal. Not too sickly sweet like cocktails can be. We had the sushi starter as it's always the best

Lovely ambiance and food piping hot and beautifully cooked...but if you go on a travelzoo voucher be aware that some of the desserts are not on it...we were charged £5 extra for a£10.50 dessert...a little extravagant when the other desserts were around £8.50 and in the offer

As ever a superb night at Oginos. This restaurant never fails to deliver amazing food with excellent staff, visually the food looks incredible and the flavours are a taste experience. I love the fact I always get something new to try the menu is never dull and desserts are completely different to anything I have eaten anywhere else, the green tea and tofu doughnuts were delicious but my friends choices were equally so. A great night had by all.

The only issue that we had were the drinks. Wine was OK but pricey, and they only had Japanese beer, not my favourite. The food was out of this world. And decent size portions as well. Mixed starter was great, "Zensai" I had the pork "Buta ", my wife had the fillet "Ushi". Both were superb. The Ushi was so full of flavour and tender. I had Kakuni Fried rice, and my wife had the Garlic Butter rice (that was the best) Dessert was cheesecake for her and ice cream for me. Best we has had for ages. We WILL be going back.....

Food, restaurant setting and staff were all great but unfortunately our table was right near the kitchen door and with it being a busy restaurant there were a lot of comings and goings, got a bit much towards the end of the meal.

It’s alway amazing but tonight we went and they have Sushi Wednesdays. Normally don’t bother with set menus cause there’s generally not a great choice but Ogino have there set menu game on! The Sushi Wednesdays set menu was incredible. The pickled fish (which makes my mouth water thinking about it) appetiser I initially thought was a little small but then they brought out a miso soup, which they got the balance on perfectly. Between my husband and I, we were then served 16 sushi rolls, 8 were beef (Gyu-maki) and 8 were tempura prawn, with fish eggs and avocado layer on the top, which was the specia of the day that they’d called a Deagon Roll. I’d also recommend the lunch menu. They only have it available over the weekend but the price is brilliant, the choice is excellent and the food is to sublime!

Fabulous s food as always. Miserable staff unfortunately. Not very friendly when asking if it possible to make a couple of changes. A “no” would have been OK rather than a tut and rolling of eyes.

Overall not bad. However, there were a few points we did not like at all. We did not like the fake chemical (and cheap) wasabi sauce that was provided. I expected home made wasabi, not store bought artificial wasabi - you can tell from the taste and the colour. Also, we did not like the dishes already pre-filled with soy sauce - which is like bringing a main course already covered with condiments (salt, vinegar, etc.). Everyone has their own personal preferences and this is taken away from the customer. Normally, the dish is brought out to you empty and you can then add as much soy sauce as you like. As it was the dish was brought out swimming with soy sauce and it made a weak soy sauce/wasabi sauce. The roasted green tea was disappointing. Very weak and lacking in flavour. Moreover, the water in the teapot had a very strong chemical/chlorine taste, which was a bit odd and ruined it a bit. I've had much better roasted green tea and wasn't impressed with this one, especially given as it wasn't cheap at 4.50.

Lovely quick and attentive service. Variety of options and caters for dietary requirements well :) There is the option of a set menu (Tues-Thurs) if you are not feeling too flush or if you are new to Japanese as well as a full range of prices and options if you want to try more. Gorgeous setting and will definitely be getting dressed up and going again :D
