Great food, selection and service. We had the steak and stilton pie and the chicken leek and mushroom. It comes with gravy amd mash. They had a promotion beer+pie £13 every Tuesday.
Amazing place. Fantastic pies, great deserts, good wine and a great atmosphere. What more could you want! I can't believe we have only just discovered this place, but we will definitely be back soon!
Tremendous! Brilliant pies! A bit over priced but absolutely lovely. Great cocktail menu as well and great atmosphere. Will definently go again very soon :)
Second time at Putney Pies. A great way to finish the afternoon after watching Fulham play! Excellent food - beef and ale pie this time. Would recommend the mini beef wellingtons to start - but beware they are very generous so only order if your order are very hungry!
We pre-ordered our food and it was ready once we arrived. Brilliant service as always and delicious food. A winning combination, highly recommended, definitely a place to return to
Good food, service was prompt. I will come again and recommend
Absolutely brilliant experience - so friendly and hospitable! Best pie I have ever tasted - rabbit and apple. Presented me with a huge slab of chocolate cake with a candle in for my birthday too!
Wow! What a place. The rustic layout is wonderful and is more than matched by the range of food on offer. We had the pulled pork pie and chicken and ham. Both tasted amazing. It was our first time there but we we will be back!
Great atmosphere, great drinks choice and even better pies. Will hit the spot each and every time. I will be sure to return and bring new friends just to show this place off!
Very nice restaurant and delicious pie and great service. I am a local customer and always bring new people in when they come to visit Putney. Definetelly recommend this place.
Fantastic. Lived up to expectations. Staff moved us when they realised there was a draft from the door. No complaints at all. Will definitely return
Attractive venue but too much incense covering up smell of damp - basement needs ventilation. Food good but chicken pie a bit dry. Beef and Stilton pie excellent. Good venue and look forward to coming back in the summer....
Great food, great drinks and a cosy atmosphere on a cold rainy night. Perfect comfort food on a weeknight. The staff are great and welcoming
Superb food, rapid friendly service, great choices. This is the way all restaurants should be run. Rustic atmosphere and good selection of beers and wines. Bob. SW London
One of the best pies I ever had. Will keep coming back.
The pie staple is delicious. We have tried other dishes but they are not as good. The service is attentive and food delivered relatively quickly - ideal if you are in a hurry.
That black pudding and pork belly pie.........sweet baby Jesus make it a regular, please. As always when we were there didn’t disappoint, back next Tuesday.
Food tasted great, quick & good service and very authentic. Good selection of pies and starters as well as sides. Got a 'mini beef wellington' to start which was two full sized Yorkshire puds with mini steak fillets inside - delicious! Would recommend the pate as well. Small selection of beers, but they were obviously hand-picked from swedish lager to Bristol stout. Went on a Saturday night and ventured downstairs after dinner into the vault where there was a DJ playing inside a raw brick candlelit underground tunnel. Has a nice terrace out onto the thames but a bit too cold in the winter!
Our order took a little while to come, but was was it was busy and told why. Very nice pie and good selection of beers. Loooking forward to returning for another pie.
Food was good. The upstairs area is quite small so some tables are close together. but the food is delicious and the waiters were very friendly.
Great hearty British cuisine. Just what you need on a cold winter day! Great surroundings, excellent service. Will be back for sure, without a doubt!
Food was tasty Service not the best. Wine and food returned as incorrect. Would return as great for drinks and pie was goooood. Thank you
Very nice food . We had the Sherpards pie.and berry crumble. Make sure you book ahead though. As venue gets very busy and their is a time limit on seats.
Overrated and overpriced. Didn’t have the lunch deal on offer as ‘chef is too busy preparing for a kids party for the next day’. Winter pie specials, only 1 on offer and that came with a limp salad. Hardly a winter dish. And at 16.95 for a small pie and salad, that’s too expensive. My partner had a pie with mash, no veg (that was extra) and for £12.95 again, pricey for what you get. Place was empty except us, yet the woman serving us said they were really busy!!!!!! Won’t be going again
Really delicious food suiting vegetarians as well as meat lovers. Very well made pastry of different sorts. Good gravy. Loads of beer choices as well as other drinks. Great service, unusual venue. All our party were really pleased with the meal, kids included.
The staff is really friendly and the food is amazing . Probably the best pie I ever had. While you wait for your table you can head down to the vault, have a drink and listen to some music.
We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! We would definitely come back again....and recommend it to friends and family. The waiting staff was very helpful and attentive.
Tasty pies and great service. Was nice and quiet for weekday lunch. They were able to accommodate our pram, but this could be difficult on a busy weekend. Very pleased overall.
We were seated in the Vault, not the restaurant upstairs and were literally next to 2 Christmas party groups - our party of 4 had our conversation drowned out by the noise directly next to us. Whilst the food was tasty, I believe the pies to have been re-heated and was left feeling ill that evening, more so in the early hours of the morning when woken by pains in my stomach. My parents had the same issue as mentioned the following day. I certainly wouldn't recommend Putney Pies to anyone at this moment in time. Mike
Few issues with the pies but the team were really quick to respond and you like not fault their friendly, efficient response. Recommend a visit if you haven’t been
Food was great, as usual. However it arrived a bit later than the tables next to us, even though we had ordered first. Great atmosphere and service overall! Book in advance as it gets busy around Christmas
Nice quiet spot just around the corner from Putney high street - delicious pies and mushy peas were a particular highlight, friendly staff as well
Good efficient service and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend the steak and ale pie. Good value - Tuesday is pie and pint night. Nice atomosphere.
Liked it very much. Was disappointed that there was no liquor sauce for the pie and mash dishes but the food was lovely. Also found the seating slightly cramped but loved the decor. Would def go again.
Good pies, beautiful decor - staff could have been a bit more attentive, they left me with the card machine for so long it timed out!
We sat in the vault area - which is lovely and atmospheric. Food was terrific and the staff super friendly. Big thumbs up for my rabbit and apple pie.
First time in here having walked past it on many occasions. Delighted by the food and service. Happy smile on the person serving us, and the food was really nice and very hot which was great on a very cold day. Will be going again.
Went on a Saturday night, Great atmosphere with live music (although a bit loud). Pies are outstanding.. I've had the chicken and mushroom before but went for the shepherds pie this time. Shepherds pie is a winner !!
Great Pies! and an all round nice place to go for a Friday night and will be looking to go back soon. I have nothing negative to say about the place.
A very warm welcome from the staff, nice ambience and fabulous pies...absolutely delicious! Amazing bar downstairs running under the Lower Richmond Road and live music too.
Wonderful evening at Putney Pies! The food was delicious (I had a steak & ale pie and my friend had the chicken & mushroom one). The service was friendly and not rushed and the restaurant itself was small, cosy and had a lovely atmosphere. I would certainly come again!
Found this place by accident. A great find!! You must visit and i recommend the pulled pork pie and the Mac and cheese. Have to book though to not be disappointed l.
Very vibey place serving good food. Very large portions and a good selection! Music is a bit too loud early on in the evening if trying to talk whilst having dinner! Fine if after 10pm they crank it up, but we left earlier than we wanted to, because we ended up just shouting over each other!
Outstanding food. Downstairs can get noisy later in the evening - which had great acoustics but can make conversation a challenge. Highly recommend the pies.
Excellent food, best pies in London. Friendly and helpful service, perfect for a family meal. Beef bourgenouin went down very well. Will definitely be coming back
Great comfort food on a chilly evening. Chicken and bacon pie a little salty but overall a nice meal. People watching in window was fun.
Great boeuf bourguignon pie, smooth mash and a good serving of gravy, charming service and fantastic value - go for the pie and a pint deal.
Excellent texture and flavour of pies. First of us had four different pies; all were tasty and well presented. My chicken and smoked bacon was delicious. Good friendly service. Nice uncrowded table (on a Wed night).
Very good pies!! The service was also very good! We went there for my birthday, we had dinner upstairs and then moved downstairs at the vaults bar where there was a good DJ, some good music and a good crowd! I had great time, strongly recommended!
Remote management never works and one member of staff doesn't cut it .. no soul to this otherwise authentic venue that has a big place in the locals heart .. really disappointed
