Great atmosphere and excellent food, staff kind and helpful,on a Saturday you will wait for the table even if you have booked.Better book earlyish as disco starts downstairs at 10pm!
At least 5 of our choices were unavailable. We were rushed out because they were closing early as it was “embarrassing” that they couldnt fulfill orders. It was a very disappointing experience. We are locals but won’t eat there again.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Friendly service. Great value. If you like your pies, then Putney Pies won’t disappoint. All in all a real gem. Looking forward to my next visit already.
Great. Atmospheric. Friendly. Lovely waitress. Great grub and a fantastic selection of beers. V impressed by the 'vault' going under the road to the river. Will definitely visit again.
Putney Pies make homemade style pies of a bygone era, with modern style ingredients. It has great ambience with a under-road area leading to a cheeky little terrace on the Thames. Please don't go, it is hard enough to get a table already!
Overall great food and atmosphere but would’ve appreciated a lowdown of the menu because the portion was small so next time I’d know to order sides. Also, we should have been notified that we only had the table for an hour. Nonetheless, we would go back!
We have been before as the pies are always great and yet again we were not disappointed. The service is always cheerful and efficient however the only downside was the flattish beer. When we pointed this out it was changed willingly. As it was a Tuesday the pie and ale deal for £13 is fantastic value, basically a free pint or glass of wine. We will be back.
Best pies ever. 2nd visit and not disappointed. Everyone should give this place a try. Staff friendly and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back next time we visit.
Always good food and friendly service. Steak and ale pies are tasty the scotch eggs and sausage rolls as starters were excellent. Atmosphere definitely buzzing.
I always visit Putney Pies when I visit from Scotland. I've yet to find anywhere else like it. Great atmosphere and amazing food. The Vault has a great vibe and fav music. Absolutely a must!
Great Service and Great Food and a lovely atmosphere, couldn't be a better experience. However I Only wished they could have more vegetarian options with their pies.
Great food, great price. I’d highly recommend visiting Putney Pies
Loved the vault downstairs! Pies also have lots of flavour - I have tried both the Steak & Ale and the Shepherd's Pie, and I LOVE them both! Good service, friendly staff. I really appreciate that the 12.5% service charge isn't added on automatically, as is usually the case in London.
Lovely atmosphere but vegetarian selection of pies very poor. Had feya and mushroom one & couldn't taste the feta one bit! More cheese please guys!
Food was excellent, and beer choices were great too. Really atmospheric venue in the vault, good music and access to views of the Thames. Well be back.
Delicious food, fantastic service, good value for money, great ambiance ... couldn't be better. Came for lunch with parents in their 80s who loved it
Great service, great pie! Couldn’t ask for more! Went on Tuesday for Pie & a pint for £13 seated & served quickly & with a smile.
This was my second visit and was again a pleasant experience. It it a homely environment, the staff are friendly and helpful staff and the food is lovely.
Ate in the upstairs restaurant - lovely pie and mash. Then went downstairs to listen to the music staff are very helpful and lovely great food and great music :)
Very good pies. Highly suggested. Average price and good beers. Cosy environment. The best way to try a classic British experience. The only con is the distance from the city centre, but it is definitely worth the trip.
We went at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening and they had none of the two vegetarian pies they do left. The place was not packed as it was early. My partners pie when it came was very hard and looked overcooked. He said it tasted okay but not a great experience.
The pies were delicious & the service was great. Loads of choices on the menu and for vegetarians too. Only negative was didn't necessarily have that instagram aesthetic.
Second time I have been to Putney Pies, and yet again it was delicious! We had the Shepard's pie and toad in the hole both were perfect. Will definitely be back!
Me and my party had a brilliant experience - Food was top notch and we all thoroughly enjoyed the live music. Would definitely recommend Putney Pies.
This is the 3rd time visit to Putney pies, and every time I am hassled to vacate my table, I do not want to be told what my time to vacate the table as soon as I sit down.
All the hype and these pies fell flat. Well, they couldn't actually fall flat since they were overcooked and turned into bricks. The crust was so hard on my wife's Steak and Stilton pie we practically needed a saw to cut through it. And the puff pastry on my Pork Wellington was equally tough. Needless to say, the insides were overcooked and dry as well. The rarebit we enjoyed as a starter was delicious, though I'm not sure what good it does to put an overcooked poached egg on top of something. I always thought the whole point of the poached egg was to use all of that unctuous, golden gooey goodness as a sauce. We were excited to see banoffee pie on the puddings chalkboard. It was delicious as well, but with only four meager slices of banana, were left wanting a little more ban with our offee. Overall, my recommendation is don't bother with Putney Pies. You can do better at any corner pub and save yourself the drive across town. and the overinflated price (60 pounds for 2 pies, 2 soft drinks, 2 starters and desert).
Really great! Food was fast and really good quality! Service was really good and staff were very tentative and on the ball with customer service. Would 100% go back again!
Great food and ambience in the restaurant. The service was excellent and attentive but not overbearing. We had a good table with a view and would recommend.
Ok service but the food was amazing , best pie I have had anywhere. More fun sitting down stairs under the road. Great menu and choices of food.
Chicken and pomegranate pies were superb. Mushroom starter was very tasty - nuts on top really great. Service unobtrusive, friendly and quick. Highly recommend whether you’ve never been or are a regular.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The menu offered interesting and varied taste combinations all of which were very reasonably priced! The food was delicious, piping hot, and the courses were well spaced. Sadly, there was no room left to try the deserts but this will be remedied on the next visit!
A bit expensive for what you get. Was given a table by the door which we luckily got changed. Went once before and the atmosphere is much better downstairs. Service was ok
Great time in the vault!! Will be going back soon!
First time here for a lovely evening! Great food and drink!!
Great place for a quick, tasty, filling meal. Good prices, although wines are not a bargain. Plenty of good beers. Bar area for non diners.
Pies were delicious. Lovely, warm cosy restaurant. Tables quite close together but that added to the cosiness. Great place for groups, or a date or to dine with a friend. Food for the soul on a cold winters night.
Fabulous food. Very tasty; cooked from fresh while you wait. The service was good and friendly and it was a really comfortable and relaxed environment.
Good quality pies, nice atmosphere for midweek. Service was absolutely fine Wasnt too overly priced Only slight downside was had booked in advance to try and get a seat downstairs but had to sit upstairs instead.
Great pies! Delicious wine. Really lovely staff. The place feels like your favourite country pub but smaller and with more interesting art. An all round enjoyable dinner experience.
Great food and lovely vibe - really enjoyed the food, beer and ambience. We’ll definitely be back, but make sure you book first on a Friday and Saturday
A restaurant that concentrates on pies and does them really well. Some dishes come without any vegetables. Really good selection of beers. Perfect venue before a visit to Craven Cottage! COYW!
for a pie restaurant its the worst pie I have ever had! Lacking fillings, awful pastry and they were missing side dishes as well. certainly wont be going back.
Great pies and the service was very good bearing in mind it was a match day at the Cottage. More mash would have been nice and a wider selection of weissbier.
Excellent pies, surprisingly varied menu (it is a pie restaurant) and friendly service. We will definitely be going again if we are down that way.
I took my mum for an early dinner - Great food and lovely service at an affordable price! I will definitely be back sooner rather than later.
Good food, especially the rabbit and apple pie. The downstairs underground setting was cool and had live music. Choose the upstairs for a more traditional feel.
Really great service, the host was lovely and so attentive even though it was a busy Thursday evening. (Unfortunately, I don't know her name!) Food was fantastic, would recommend!
Great food and lovely service on a rainy Valentine's evening. 3 covers booked for the same table though and we didn't know so given the bill before we asked for it but we weren't rushed.
Really great food and service - couldn’t be better. The table ahead of us was late so they looked after us beforehand with drinks and also made the birthday lady feel special with a cake!
Enjoyed food, very promptly served and very tasty, generous portions. Not hugely spacious but cosy atmosphere. We were glad we booked as it is very popular.
