Porterhouse Steakhouse

Food was great quality and really good value for money. Restaurant was clean and comfortable but could be slightly cosier. Waiters very friendly and helpful.

No atmosphere, large open room that was very cold. The steak was ok but not worth the money in my opinion Disappointed overall with the experience

The food was nice and the service friendly. However the food was over priced, side dishes were not included in the overall price and portions were too small.

The place was lovely instead and the food was good. I had sea bass in which there was alot of which was good and the steak was nice too. The set menu is worth using.

Great service, very attentive and friendly. Starter was delicious although portion size was small. The rib eye was average. Atmosphere spoiled by a loud, foul mouthed individual on the next table.

Visited Winchester Porterhouse this week. Food was excellent and service first class. Would recommend a visit. A variety of food supplied [7 in party] and each steak was as requested and the chips 'to die for'.

Been here a few times and it never disappoints, was very quite but staff were polite and attentive, meal was wonderful and wine was great too! Lovely lunch

Another excellent lunch. Lunch 2-course special menu which includes a drink is perfect, and also had room for one of their famous Bailey's cheesecakes for sweet. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Will be there again in the near future.

The food was excellent from a good menu choice. Some of the waiting staff need more experience and should make sure they know what is available and how to operate the card reader. Having said that we had a very enjoyable if somewhat noisy evening.

Good service and great food. The 2/3 course menu (available Sun to Thurs) is really good value for money, the food is just as good as the full menu, but the steaks are smaller, of course. This is the second time we have been and the second time we have really enjoyed the experience. Can definitely recommend.

Very average steak, terrible sauces and boring starters. At almost £50 per head despite only drinking water and 2 glasses of wine between 4 of us, not good value for money. No wonder it was empty on a Friday night.

Delicious food, the fillet steaks were amazing. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. Will certainly be returning to Porterhouse to try something else from the menu.

Lovely, freshly-cooked steaks, served by excellent staff. We were celebrating a colleague's retirement, so this was perfect. There was a really good choice on the lunchtime menu, and sadly, we were unable to push down pudding!

This is one of the few restaurants that know how to cook a rare steak. So many other restaurants do medium rare but here you get what you ask for. Really good service and value for money. A Winchester favourite.

My steak was tough. The waitress didn’t understand that I wanted lemon with my Earl Grey tea. My mother said the calimari was chewy. Overall not as good as I had hoped.

Excellent service & top quality food. We were in a rush due to catching a train & the Staff were extremely accommodating with this. Would recommend to anyone visiting Winchester!

Staff were incredibly friendly and very welcoming. Definitely come here again, food was awesome. Didn't have a starter or dessert - had the burger which was very delicious!

Really nice restaurant, lovely food and waiter was really nice! I’d recommend this place to anyone. Fairly priced but well worth the money, only issue was that it was a little noisy at peak time.

Food is amazing, service is amazing, atmosphere is amazing. Love this restaurant. We celebrated my Wife’s 50th Birthday and the staff were very attentive. Will definitely go again. If you want the best fillet steak ever, come to the Porterhouse.

I have been visiting the porterhouse for a long time now and it never disappoints. The fillet steak is always cooked perfectly and the sauce what ever the flavour Complements the steak. You are always greeted with a friendly smile and service is very good.

Good steak restaurant with staff who explained the various cuts and how they can be cooked, prices not bad at all. good choice of wines as well.

Excellent service. Food delicious. Lovely environment. We will definitely return. The chicken and pancetta dish was very tasty as was the sticky toffee pudding desert.

Food was very nice, staff were friendly and the wait wasn't very long. It was a very noisy so wouldn't recommend a Saturday night if you are looking for a quite dinner. 😕

Service was very good. Starter of mozzarella and tomatoes was initially served without olive oil but a bottle was provided promptly on request. Steaks were served with vegetables chips and two sauces. All very good. My rump steak was VERY gristly but when mentioned to staff they offered to replace it. The replacement was very good.

No children's menu, but if you ask them children can order from the daytime menu which was great for my son as we wouldn't eat a 10oz stake

Great service, friendly staff, reasonable price although could do with a few more expensive steaks on there (8oz for around £15 was the limit for the lunch menu) Steak done perfectly as we requested. If we lived closer it would be a regular haunt.

The only restaurant in Winchester that cooks steak to perfection. Great service from attentive waiters. Food was excellent from starters through to desert. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and excellent service. We all enjoyed our meals - the chips were beautifully crisp, mains perfectly cooked and yummy desserts. We will be back.

Good steaks, friendly service. Appropriate wine list. A very nice alternative to the Sunday roast. Not the restaurants fault but a pity about the hassle of parking in Winchester.
