Food was exceptional and great value. Service a little slow but probably due to how busy they were. Highly recommended. Definitely be going again very soon.

Lovely food. Menu options available for all tastes including special gluten free and Vegan. Vegetarian options available as standard. Did I say food was delicious. Service as you would like it, prompt but unobtrusive. Starters included a perfectly cooked poached egg with black pudding (hers) and scorched mackerel with horseradish cream (mine). Mains chicken confit cassouletish with roasted veg (hers) and fishcake, fishy and not boring, with pickled veg (mine). Finished off with Carpaccio pineapple + (hers) and Chocolate Pie with espresso/caramel sauce (mine). Couldn't ask for a nicer lunch.

Food was excellent quality, in a fantastic setting, will certainly be back, only comment is that the set menu could have had a couple of more dishes to choose from

The food was good but an hour plus wait for the first course unacceptable and thirty minutes for the second. The operations need major review.

A really enjoyable evening out. Food was absolutely delicious; we had the bread and olives first, followed by the chicken and pork pâté to start. Mains was the duck breast then the chocolate tart to finish. Our third time there and certainly not or last!

This is the third visit to Plates & Co and they do not fail to excel. Weston Cottage is our b&B and we send our guests to you and they love you too. The freshly cooked food is excellent and the staff are refreshingly polite and amiable. Thank you. Adrian & Rae Thomas

The evening started out slowly, my partners Birthday treat, waiting 5 minutes for a table to be prepared although it had been booked earlier in the day. The restaurant wasn't full. f First course was fine, my main meal was not a pleasure to eat, a 1/3 of the steak being sinuous and inedible. On paying the bill I was asked, the one and only time, how the meal was. I informed the waitress of the steak, she basically shrugging her shoulders, not commenting and leaving it at that. would not rush back in a hurry.

My husband and I enjoyed the delicious freshly cooked-to-order food at Plates. You could see how much effort has gone into each dish by the Chefs on view. We will definitely for there again.

the food was good, service wasn't, not because they weren't trying but because they clearly hadn't been trained, also it was very hot and for some reason they didn't have the air con on

Nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff with very polished glasses. We had the tasting menu which the chef took time to discuss with us and every course was delicious especially the beef. Each course was delivered personally by the chef which we also thought a nice touch. We will definitely be back.

We ate a la carte. Nice surroundings and nice staff. The food was good from a smallish menu. The dessert had lovely flavours but the creme bruleè was an odd consistency and the chocolate panacotta was like icecream in the middle. £70 for the two of us and we don't drink was a bit pricey though...

Service was very slow and the food served on cold plates. The mushroom risotto was very disappointing, lacking flavour. Great shame as whilst waiting for our meal we thought what a wonderful setting and we were anticipating many return visits.

A very pleasant dining experience in every respect. The service was efficient, helpful and very willing to please. The food was excellent and well presented. Unlike some restaurants which are noisy, this one was able to absorb the usual chatter which did not intrude upon other diners. In all, a lovely evening with some guests from America who were very impressed with this restaurant as we were.

Plates has a very welcoming ambience, the staff are attentive and the food is first class, beautifully presented, very tasty and for me the portions are just right, the choice is limited but very good and different!! Nothing dull, all very "new" and inventive. My friends and I enjoyed our meal immensely and will be sure to visit Plates again.

Great place for a relaxed Sunday lunch with friends - you don't get rushed and there is time between courses. Our food was good, certainly plentiful and it arrived on hot plates (a big plus in my book). Lovely setting, and tables are well spaced out. Lovely staff, who really seem to care that you are enjoying the food. Will definitely eat here again soon.

Food was outstanding, service was great, couldn't decide on the wine so the lady behind the bar was so helpful and educational. Our main server, lady with dark hair was excellent, very attentive and again lots of good knowledge on the food. Will certainly be returning. Very impressed.
