Oozing with ambience, friendly obliging staff, choices & value for money on a ‘Groupon’ deal. What’s not to like!
My mum's birthday treat lovely food , they even decorated my mum's pudding plate with happy birthday very nice touch
Sublime food and lovely staff, will definitely go back again.
A limited lunch time menu but we were all pleased with our selections. I thought the beer, wine & coffee expensive. Charming waitress looked after us very well. Food was hot & well presented. Car parking difficult. I will certainly go again.
The terms of the Meerkat Meals 2 for 1 offer were unclear to the customer and not understood by the staff. We were led to believe we would have a wider selection, but were limited to the cheapest, 2 course set menu. Waiter almost did not accept use of the voucher as he did not recognise it. Accidentally overcharged us for the more expensive menu, despite only being offered the cheapest while using the deal. Very very disappointing as I have previously had a very different experience here using the exact same offer. Felt as though they saw us coming..!
We were a party of six. Had a big, roomy table. Great food, friendly staff, beautiful place! We all enjoyed the evening. Will definitely be back!
Friendly staff, delicious food cooked to order and a lovely atmosphere. Not our first visit and won’t be our last! A must for food lovers.
Beautiful setting and gorgeous food! Restored church with stained glass windows and other features kept blended with the needs of the restaurant. Friendly and professional staff and, with a Groupon offer, cost effective. Would come again.
Very nice meal we had this as a present for Christmas and really enjoyed it thank you very much the food was hot and very tasty
Lovely venue and two special valentine day menus. Fantastic starters (Salmon& Crab terrine and King prawn ravioli. One great main (Lemon sole) and one good main (Fillet steak). Sweets not up to usual standard. Good wine. Live music excellent and nice to see goodly crowd in. Service excellent and very attentive. Very good evening.
Food was really nice and service was okay. Me and my partner went on Valentine’s Day and we were made to order from a set menu which came to over £100 without drinks. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but the price was just crazy!
The service was excellent throughout our visit and very friendly. Our party of four had 3 courses each and all were delicious and presented beautifully. A lovely evening in a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent food & all a bit different, well presented, good value and the building has been sympathetically restored. Not an extensive menu, but a good range of choices & all freshly cooked.
Food was lovely but the dining area is absolutely feeezing. I sat with my coat on the entire visit and kept rubbing my hands to stay warm.
Lovely restaurant. Charming waitress, excellent service and best of all lovely food. Would thoroughly recommend. This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint. Just see for yourself
Service was extremely good. Food was very tasty, my only negative was my starter wasn’t very warm. Also the atmosphere was a bit quiet as th restaurant wasn’t very full. The surroundings were beautiful and I would definitely give it another try.
Beautiful place but sadly we did not have a good experience. My dad ordered the rump steak and specifically asked to no have the peppercorn sauce. We were told it came on the side. It didn’t. It was smothered all over the steak. We sent it back and asked for another steak. It came out within minutes on a boiling hot plate- as if it had been microwaved. We suspected it was the same steak. We asked and it was. I think that’s a disgrace. This is not a cheap restaurant and we asked not to have the sauce. To bring out the same steak that they had wiped clean and microwaved is not acceptable. Unfortunately the dessert was also very poor. The sticky toffee pudding was dry and dense like out of a tin. We didn’t eat it. Won’t be coming again. Very disappointing experience.
I found the menu very difficult. We are definitely not fussy eaters but we could not find anything to choose. We left the restaurant without ordering and went elsewhere.
Very good food. The roast beef was fantastic and portion size generous. Great service and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. I read reviews that it was cold inside but not on our visit. Very cosy even though it was only 2 degrees outside
Beautiful restaurant. Lovely waiting staff. But my meal was completely different to advertised - ordered duck with red cabbage and lentils, got duck with savoy and mashed potato. Sent it back but still didn't get what was on the menu. And i ended up eating 15 mins after my husband had finished his meal. A real disappointment.
Beautifully prepared courses, fine service, very friendly staff and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Particularly enjoyed the smoked duck starter and beef. Will definitely come again.
Welcoming staff, service quick and friendly, food hot and delicious. My new favourite restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again. Keep up the good work Plates & Co, you deserve to be very busy.
The food was absolutely gorgeous and with a wonderful service and lovely atmosphere this makes for great value for money. Will definitely be advising friends to go x
Flawless food, very hot and fresh. Always a fantastic experience with very attentive staff and portions are just right. Room was warm and had a very serene atmosphere. Perfect.
I’m a vegetarian with a gluten intolerance, i booked plates and co for my birthday for 7 guests using the online booking service. On our arrival to Plates and Co we where told it was the steak night and they only have one vegetarian option that wasn’t gluten free. The waitress checked with the chef but there was no other option available. On returning back to the website to see where it stated it was steak night we could not find it until a third person checked on the website and happened to scroll right to the bottom on the page footer and there in small writing it stated Monday’s were steak night. We had no option but to find somewhere else to eat which was a shame as I have visited this restaurant before and really loved it hence why I booked it for my birthday, we all dressed up as the restaurant is fancier than most which left us feeling uncomfortable in the restaurant we ended up eating in as they could accommodate us. We also noticed that the website stated the set menu was £33pp but a poster in the restaurant stated £35pp. I dislike leaving negative feed back but I was left feeling really stupid and gutted on my birthday which wasn’t pleasant.
a beautiful relaxing atmosphere, staff happy and positive, food wonderful. this was a very good offer for discount on the meal. good choice of wine.
Excellent food excellent service and beautiful surroundings. The original stained glass windows are wonderful. Can’t wait to visit again. A real treat. Thank you very much.
Very friendly staffs, good quality food and good portion. Ordered seafood dish but wasn't available at a time but offered alternative also nice. Good space between tables so you don't have to overhear somebody else conversation. Beautiful interior special windows as building itself use to be a church. Overall, very happy with visit will definitely return.
The overall visit was excellent .The food was freshly cooked and top quality, the waiters were very attentive and made sure that we were satisfied in every way.We will be going again,Alan.
It was our first visit Plates and Co. Beautiful setting within the old church of Westbourne. The food was fantastic. We would highly recommend and will definitely be returning soon.
We enjoyed our first visit to Plates. Very pleasant surroundings and staff although a little difficult to understand at times. Food arrived good and hot. Will definitely return. Well recommended, even though a lot of stairs to climb!!
The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive there was even great live music. The ambience of Plates & co Westbourne wonderful, thank you everyone
Plates is always a great experience. A great selection of items on the menu to suit every taste, and last night (13th December) there was live music.
We went to Plates & Co for a lunch. We have been before and have enjoyed ourselves when we have gone. Good and interesting food served by attentive staff presented very well. We would have no hesitation in visiting again, either as a couple or with others.
We always have a wonderful meal at ‘Plates’ in Westbourne, the service is excellent and it’s also great value. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Really disappointing food - cold, incorrect orders and slow service. Waitress did her best to put things right but our evening was spoiled. What a shame.
Excellent time. Our Cuban waiter made the evening a really good laugh The food was all good and we even has desert which is very rare . Will go again next time in Bournemouth
Great 3 course Sunday lunch Excellent service and flavours Good ambiance. Good choice of wines Great value, Thanks for a lovely lunch and afternoon We’ll book again
Great service, relaxing Atmosphere and great food. The place was decorated for Christmas and was so festive! We went for my fiancé’s birthday and they catered for our needs!
Excellent Sunday Roast. Meat cooked to perfection and nice selection of vegetables. Friendly service. Looked very festive with all the Christmas decorations. Will be back.
Very pretty restaurant, good food and lovely service. Had 3 courses for Sunday roast for £20 each. Shame the card machine has poor signal and struggled to take our payment.
Wonderful ambiance excellent welcome and service Pudding fine but fish cake and Terine. Were Tasteless for me Hard to find from car park which is very close
amazing food great service nice atmosphere will go again great menu 5 star friendly people nice décor great chefs highly recommended for families and couples
We had a great Sunday lunch, the food was hot and presentation was excellent. The service was very good. Everything was so good that we have rebooked.
Beautiful meal and wine. We visited on their steak night. Also tried plaice on the bone, delicious. Desserts, chocolate pudding and lemon drizzle cake, delicious but we thought a little expensive. Will definitely visit again but probably on special deal night.
Took my mother/father-in law to Plates and Co and they were bowled over by the food and service. Cannot recommend this place enough. Great, great quality food and lovrly people there!
We visited on a Friday evening and the restaurant was less than half full. The food was very good, hot and freshly prepared and good sized portions, the sticky toffee pudding was also very good and served piping hot with ample sauce. The venue itself is unusual with a lovely vaulted ceiling and has plenty of space between the tables. The kitchen is located within the restaurant so you can watch the chefs at work. This does mean that there is quite a strong of cooking. It was a shame that the restaurant was not a little more busy as the place lacked atmosphere. It is definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful experience, good food with a vair d menu for all tastes, atmosphere made magical by the sun shining through the stain glass windows. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Definitely will return
Love this place each time I go with a new set of friends the staff are warm and friendly. The food is gorgeous. Love it’s ambience.
Lovely setting. Excellent food well presented. The staff were excellent. There when you wanted them but not intrusive. Lovely evening. We would eat here again.
