Food was good quality. Pigs trotters was a very small portion and chips were over cooked. Also 3rd time they have ran out of cider.

Excellent friendly service and very good food at lunch time. What more can I say? Good choice of food and wine. And a nice warm Armagnac to finish.

A lovely atmosphere and excellent food. The service was a bit slow at times ( and they were not rushed off their feet ) and a little more attention to detail wouldn’t go amiss . My tea cup was grubby. Just tiny things that could be improved otherwise it is a fabulous restaurant and my venison three ways was 5* fabulous. It is on my regular treat list as the food is truly delicious and the bill at the end very very reasonable.

Absolutely delicious - great service too - very very lovely. Marvellous interpretation of a Christmas style turkey dish and the pumpkin/rosemary soup with the duck bonbon - amazing!

Excellent for value, quality, and for the menu-choices available, with quality rather than quantity their (and our) priority. The plats du jour were a richly flavoursome squash soup with a delicious little ball of duck meat as garnish (it had a nice level of heat from some ginger I think, making it just the job on a frosty day). The braised pigs cheeks were marvellously tasty and tender with some creamy mashed tatties and then a blueberry clafoutis with mint and chocolate ice cream rounded it all off. Having gone to this restaurant fairly often in the past, it is nice to observe that if anything it gets better and more consistently good as time passes. Their chef(s) can really cook. No problem getting a seat on a Sunday afternoon (I booked a couple of days before). Three courses each then coffee (no wine) plus some extremely fresh and tasty bread all for under £30 per mouth is pretty good going these days. The service from our French waiter was warm, friendly and attentive without ever being overdone. Then the manager was doing her rounds as well to double-check that we were happy. We were, very. It's the real bistro deal, which if it was was pricier, it wouldn't be, so I wouldn't go. Nice to feel looked-after rather than shaken down. Thank you.

Nice food. Pity no beef special at 7pm on a Friday night - maybe need to order ahead? Ask for a table away from the door on a cold night.

Pretty good. Chicken Ballatine was a bit rich due to amount of pork filling. Custard in the floating islands tasted like it might have been tinned.

Best fine dining restaurant without a pretentious atmosphere. Suitable French brassiere for everyone. Because the restaurant is also owned by the same people who run the neighbo(u)ring Italian restaurant, Duo, you have the option of ordering from both menus.

To put this very simply I felt basically I had 3 starters , everything tasted very nice but I just wanted double the portions and this would not have been too much I assure you as the portions were very small and I am not a large eater . My partner had a lovely soup starter but her beef stew dish was so fatty she couldn't eat most of it . We were asked if everything was alright but not being natural complainers we didn't say anything much which is our fault I know ( it was a first date so perhaps that was the reason ) although I did comment I could have done with more of everything . This was a trifle surprising as this venue had been recommended to me by a discerning friend and he was correct in that the staff were very friendly .

The restaurant was warm, welcoming and empty when I arrived early for lunch. The waitress on duty was quick to say hello and take my coat. Menus were immediately provided, and a drink while I awaited my companion. The lady proprietor and the chef who passed through the dining area, greeted me cheerfully. The beef stew was well-cooked and very tasty, although maybe a greater quantity of beef would have been expected. The clafoutis was excellent. The service was speedy, efficient and pleasant. The French ambience was to my taste. All in all a good lunch. This was my first visit and I will certainly be back.

Although two main courses were good, the third, a Pot au Feu was inedible (a bowl of vegetables with a lump of oxtail bone) looked highly unappetising at best and rather disgusting. The chef was called who informed us that this was how the dish was supposed to be. Despite the Pot au Feu being sent back untouched, the meal was charged in full. Service was excellent and the desserts were good but we won't be back.

Always love this restaurant, one of my top 3 in Scotland but not great to see an argument between chef and waiting staff. This discord reflected in meal, the beef stew very poor. Not up to your usual high standards I'm afraid.

We have been to Pig Halle several times before, and like those previous visits we were not disappointed. We opted for the set lunch and everything was fantastic. The risotto was possibly the best I have ever eaten. Every dish that arrived from the kitchen looked wonderful. The staff are friendly and very attentive, without being over bearing. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food made cooked with care. Can’t wait to go back

This is a lovely restaurant / cafe with a French feel. The food is absolutely delicious, traditional French as well as other dishes. The hostess was very welcoming and considerate. We had a child’s menu, pizza, two starters and the fish of the day which was perfect. The coffee and hot chocolate didn’t disappoint.

Always a good atmosphere and attentive staff. A starter of Warm Salad with Duck Confit and Lardons, a lovely combination of flavors. The main course consisted of 2 fillets of pan fried Gurnard and garnish which gave a delightful stronger flavor to the fish. This was a birthday meal and my desert was presented with a small candle along with a salutation from the staff.

A really quirky lovely little restaurant in Perth. Good selection of different food, all of which was very tasty, topped off with great wine and friendly service. There were a few things sold out when we arrived but we all still had a great meal and enjoyed it immensely.

Issues: Service was slow and it appeared to be due to a lack of staff, while the restaurant was busy which I think lead to all the issues listed. When our drinks order was finally taken, they brought the wrong flavour of soft drink out. We were never asked if we required further drinks, even when glasses were empty. We had to ask for more table water when we ran out. Also received the wrong flavour of Macarons for the dessert due to having run out of the requested, didn't have a suitable replacement and was still charged for them all when informed we wouldn't eat them all (as no-one wanted the coffee ones) Positives: Food was very nice. Would return as the food and setting are both good, but would need to allow for plenty of time.

You love "A Hero in France" by Alan Furst. You love France profonde. You imagine arriving in Gard du Nord, Paris taking line 4 to Les Halles. Alternatively take the A85 to Perth for impeccable food and fantastic atmosphere at Pig'Halle. Queen scallop in Noily Pratt. And then - slow cooked pig cheek, confit of pigs trotters, black pudding, roast loin of pork, baked apple, red wine sauce and chips; and to settle the meal banana and chocolate souffle. Champagne, Corbieres and a desert wine. There was also coffee and pistachio macarons. Hic. Tout est bon dans le chochon.
