You get what you pay for, Great quality pies, and a great selection of beers and drinks to go with them. Would easily go back again soon.
Absolutely amazing food. Great vegan options. Staff were really friendly too and gave us 10% off as we had to wait for our table! 😊 We are going again this weekend as enjoyed the food so much!
Staff were excellent, did all they could to make our experience positive, even seating us in the sister restaurant to ensure we were comfortable as I am on crutches. And the pies are so good that when guests in The Bakerie saw what we had, they were asking how to order them too! Will definitely be going back again
Nice relaxed atmosphere with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good pastry on the pies with tasty fillings and extras. I wouldn't be against putting a bit more inside the pies, but still, good.
Fantastic!! The meal was great & brilliant selection of craft beers. lots of love to our waitress who had great passion and knowledge beer. It made our wedding night even more special. xx
Great food and ale. Waiter was attentive and passionate. Went in a saturday night when it was busy but really enjoyed it. Would definitely go back.
It was the best place I have ever been to, to have a family meal the staff are so friendly and they even took my food of the bill as it was my birthday
The atmosphere was ok and the staff were good.Pies were a bit of a let down .More pastry than pie.Wedges at £5 each was very steep.
Hearty food and friendly, attentive service. There is plenty of choice on the menu for every diet (vegan, veggie, gluten free) and the menu is well labelled. This was my second visit to Pie & Ale, and I will no doubt be back again when next in Manchester!
Pie and Ale is my new favourite pie hole. Between us we polished off Kangaroo pie, crocodile pie and chicken and duck pie.....Pietastic. Loved it.
Went to Pie and Ale with a large party, and there was mixed reaction to the food. Some people really enjoyed the meals, but others including myself felt that there wasn't enough content. The pies had little meat in them, and it was only the sauce that provided any flavour. I thought that the portions were also on the small side, particularly given that we want plenty of food to soak up the beer, as that's what the combination of pie and ale is all about, isn't it?
The food was fantastic! And the staff were brilliant! The group loved it. The choice of drink available was vast and more than catered to our needs. We were totally stuffed by the time we left
Brilliant food and lovely atmosphere, even though they were low on staff we felt looked after all night with great service. Large selection of ales and great to see so many local microbreweries represented
Great food and good selection of beers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend booking a table if going at weekends as the waiting time can be quite lengthy, speaks for itself..!
Really friendly and knowledgeable staff, and food was excellent, my wife loved the figgy toffee pudding best although there was nothing we didn't like. We aren't snobs but know good food when we see it and this place is a must visit
Good food at a valid price, not too expensive on soft drinks which for my teetotal party of two was a very welcome change. Would almost certainly come again.
Food was exceptionally good, great portion sizes too. Only minus would be that it took quite a while from ordering to eating, given there wasn't many people in I don't see why.
Great venue, good food, excellent selection of beers. Visited on a Monday, 2 for 1 night, and wasn't disappointed by the quality of the pies. Will definitely return.
Great little gem of a restaurant in Northern Quarter Really sizeable pies in a good variety of flavours. Lots of great Ales to pick from aswell. Will 100% be attending again. A top choice for a night out with the boys.
Great customer service, delicious pies at reasonable prices. I would highly recommend anyone in Manchester to try their food and soak up the friendly atmosphere.
Great food and service, pie was delicious extremely rich and filling and the beer reasonably priced even in northern quarter! Will definitely be going again
Best pie I had in the UK!! And don’t forget the selection of beers as well. Amazing place. Will be back for the rest of the menu :D
Fab restaurant, great atmosphere. All our pies were well cooked and large portions. Friendly staff.
