Stunning food, great ambience and friendly staff. Haven't enjoyed a meal like that in a long time! The Spanish chip butty is both amazing and a ridiculous size. The camembert was fabulous and even the salads were divine.

Fantastic food and drink. Great informal atmosphere, and the dishes are varied but really tasty. The angry chicken is a particular favourite. Can’t wait to go again.

Lovely food in a nice space. Really recommend. Music was a bit loud, making dinner conversation a challenge, but otherwise, ambience is pleasant. Server was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Great food and ambience with helpful and friendly young staff. With the cold weather the wood burning fire was really welcome! Menu offers many delights.

It was excellent, food was lovely and the staff friendly and very attentive. We ordered 4 dishes and a dessert, after the waitress advised how large one of the dishes was we dropped one from our initial order, and she was so right. Can’t fault any of it, excellent.

I can't recommend Pen Factory enough - the small plates are varied and inventive while there's a variety of craft beers on draft and a very decent wine selection. The staff were helpful, swift and cheery and the ambience created by the eclectic crowd of patrons adds to a great experience.

Really tasty food, the Mushrooms on Toast was a generous size and delicious. There's not a huge menu but more than enough to find something you like. The cooked is fresh and well cooked and reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant.

Always love eating here. The staff and service is always excellent, the food is different than the norm, and the small plate portions are very adequate. First time we went we ordered too many even though we did manage to finish them. We loved the duck chow mein with a fried egg, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the menu last time we went, but loads of other choice.

Friendly staff, good food and drink. Excellent value. It got very busy around five and six and this resulted in slow service. This hadn’t happened on previous visits. Other than that it was a good experience. Definitely return and recommend.

Although a 25 minute walk up hill from the main shopping area it was well worth the hike. The menu I feel is best suited for lunchtime dining. It caters for vegetarians as well and the menu is intestine. It is well worth a visit.

Always enjoy the ambience here-relaxed and friendly. Good value for money-we enjoy the 2 small plates-sometimes depends on what you choose to the size of portions-I never feel really full when I leave but always enjoy what I have! The sourdough bread is delicious and there are some unusual dishes to enjoy.

The food was absolutely first rate. However, the service was poor in relation to taking our orders and when ordering drinks getting this wrong. This has happen quite a few times on our repeated visits and is something that lets down what could have been an enjoyable experience.

Great food. Ordered a selection for a group of us. All of them were very good. Great selection of beers too. Would have scored higher but we found it cold as we were on a table near the draft from the door. Also, toilets looked they were half way through being improved and were quite scruffy compared to the rest of the bar.

Eight of us visited the Pen Factory all bar me where from out of town. All of us were impressed (though not my first time there). The food was great and excellent value for money. We all went for the 2 small plates for £10. though the plates weer not as small as they can be, which obviously was nothing to complain about. Finally the staff wwre friendly and helpful.
