Always our favorite stop in London -- Outstanding Thai food in the heart of London. Highly recommended - the staff is always so knowledgeable and polite.
Excellent food. Probably the best Thai restaurant in the SW1, SW3, SW7, SW10, SW5 area.. Excellent service. Shame there is no delivery service provided by Patara
Delicious dinner, innovative menu, wonderful flavours, beautifully presented, excellent service, charming attentive staff, subtle decor, great atmosphere, perfect family evening celebrating eve of son's wedding.
Food was excellent, staff were good, polite, but not 5*, table for 2 could have done with being 6" wider to accommodate Thai buffet, 4 1/2 stars
This is a brilliant Thai restaurant. Food is well balanced and varied, staff are very friendly. Even remembered us when we went back a week later.
The staff was lovely and accommodating. We had a toddler and a vegan in our party. The staff answered all our queries and were incredibly patient. The food as always was amazing. It is not a cheap dinner, but cannot fault the service or food. We will definitely be back!
We visited Patara on 20 August 2016. We enjoyed a lovely meal with excellent service. I would say that the restaurant is looking quite dated now and was quite stuffy. So much so that an old pedestal stand was being used in the dining area. Other opportunities for improvement is their cocktail menu. We tried their Mojito champagne cocktail which was a big disappointing. The food was very nice, cocked quickly and bought to the table immediately however the menu could also benefit from a bit of a refresh as there was nothing too original. All in all, a nice restaurant with good food and great service but look elsewhere for an exceptional meal/evening.
delicious food, attentive service even when the restaurant appeared very busy. also the meals were piping hot and served on hot plates overall, a very good experience
Fantastic food and an amazing value lunch menu! This is Thai fine dining. I would particularly recommend the corn fritters and the salmon with red chuu chee sauce.
Wonderful food and good service. We celebrated my husbands b'day there and it was a great choice also to take a new visitor to London there...
The food was a pretty bland and the restaurant was SO hot with very limited air. The service was very good though throughout the evening.
Excellent quality, could work on the service, definitely one of the best Thai in town. Price in line with the location and the food. Regards
I thought I was being rushed by the unfriendly staff. After all that, the food wasn't even that great - very basic, and not very Thai.
Was awful! Food was very greasy and lacked any taste. The lamb was not cooked through properly either. Would not visit again Service as good but did not make up for the food.
The quality of the food was good but they supplied the wrong order for the starter and for the mains brought rice instead of noodles. Too much haste on behalf od the waiting staff as seems they want people to come and go quickly. Once we were onto deserts more than half the clients had left and staff became more relaxed. Would go back again
Food was fine, but the service was not that good. The waiting time for the main course was too long. The price is quite high.
Food good . Service crisp but not warm. Very strict last orders and at 5 minutes to 3 effectively bundled out S tod twice in space of couple of minutes athen waitress tssod over us till we stood up. All well within their prerogative but left a bit of a bitter taste to good food and what would have been nice meal
We went to Patara for my parents 40th wedding Anniversary. The Food was excellent and staff so lovely and attentive. We all had a Wonderful experience
It was a great experience as usual and have thoroughly enjoyed the food. Friendly staff and not so crowded today. Will definitely go back again.
We had the tasting menu which had a great variety, the drinks were good and reasonably priced and the meal in total was slightly less than anticipated. All in all a great restaurant that taste great without killing your wallet.
We had a greate dinner tonight Bering for the first time in a Patara restaurant with a delicious meal and an excellent service. Unfortunately in our home town we haven't got a Patara.
Great, bfriendly service. Delicious food - prawn cracker with chilli sauce, tuna carpaccio, sea bass lime sauce or bans leaf, chicken green curry. Goo wine list as well.
Buono tutto. Location cibo servizio. C'ero già stato un paio di volte e penso proprio che ci tornerò. Ideale per cena amichevole e per serata piacevole in compagnia
Excellent food in an intimate setting. Great vegetarian menu. We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch with friends. Courteous service and consistent quality as ever with Patara.
Very good food and service. There was a minor problem in that they delivered me the wrong bottle of wine, but besides that everything was excellent.
Above average food - fresh, tasty. Interesting menu - delicious black cod with ginger, tender roast beef with shiitake mushrooms, yummy tiger prawns curry. Sticky rice a little too super glue. Thai red wine the perfect complement.
Very good food , expensive but tasty . Quite a long wait for main course especially as restaurant was not full, got main order wrong and two members of our party had to wait again for their food
Not like serious spicy Thai food place, but they will give you always nice service, good taste, clean & spacious seat, and happy waiter/waitress smiles. I have been an heavy repeater!
I really enjoyed having dinner at Parara restaurant. It is one of my favourite places to eat in London. I truly recommend to anyone who likes good food. Amazing delicious food!
Very nice beef. Excellent Thai food overall. All dishes tasted good. Would recommend overall.. Quite authentic and reasonably good value. A shame mango dessert was not available
Terrible service and staff! The staff were more concerned about closing the kitchen than serving us and we receieved a hurried service which was quite frankly rude and unhelpful. For a lunch for 3 costing £100 it's not what I expected and in London with a million dining options I certainly won't be returning no matter how tasty the food.
Quality of food not as good as prior visits. Felt the menu also lacked some variation which it used to hold. Slightly disappointed with overall experience as previous visits made me want to go back!
We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty our meals were, and we will be going to Patara again. We had the Green Curry and a Stir Fry . The Mango Cheesecake was unique.
Excellent nice food together with friendly atmosphere and good service
This is the 2nd time we dined. 1st time the food was incredible - we got the black cod and sea bass curry as well as broccolli w shiitake mushrooms. We got the same items again last night and was disappointed w the lack of flavor and the Shitaki mushrooms were replaced w button , and not very many. Very disappointing. Not sure if they lost their chef
Terrible restaurant. We booked well in advance for Valentine's Day with my husbands allergies notes. After being told which appetizers were safe for his peanut nut and sesame allergies. We chose two apps. I questioned the waiter after a few minutes which mains he could order so we could start deciding. He said oh none! I said well what are we todo? He said he cannot have any mains as they all are not modifiable. We proceeded to leave the restaurant. Ruined our plans. Again terrible resto and obviously terrible chef for not being able to accommodate simple allergies.
In South Kensington food is very good, portions are too small and is too expensive ,maybe bcz I of the area.Next time we will try another restaurant.
Food was absolutely outstanding. Final price snuck up on us a bit but truly enjoyed the dining experience and will definitely put this down for a repeat visit.
Excellent food as always at Patara although we find the South Kensington branch a little less inventive than others. The menu could be improved with the addition of more grilled/barbecued meats, but the quality of what we had was very good. Service was attentive and non intrusive - much appreciated. Wines were slightly on the expensive side, but I suppose that is to be expected for the location.
I went here with my girlfriend on valentines day and the whole experience was lovely. They had a two menu's for us to choose from. We could order food from the valentines day menu or Patara regular menu. We ordered from their regular menu and the food was lovely. Well presented and tasty. Definitely going back their soon.
I thought the food was over priced and mediocre. Also when I requested a white wine I was told that it wasn't cold, but that I could pay for a more expensive wine that was cold. I thought the service was quite poor.
Nice ambiance with friendly and attentive staff, but most importantly the food was delicious, we enjoyed it and feel it was worth the prices and will certainly be returning.
3 of the chosen things were not available..and we were then told that it shuts tomorrow...what we chose (eventually) was ok ... hope to go there again in November.
Great staff who made excellent recommendations even though there was a problem with some of the equipment that day. Good location - we went for a meal before the Albert hall
