Booked a tanker for four well in advance. On arrival a rather unfriendly woman 'greeted' is and sat us at a table in the entrance despite several other tables being free (the whole evening) in obviously nicer parts of the restaurant. We were moved with great reluctance. The food and dinning experience thereafter was generally good (occasionally outstanding) and we had a nice evening. I would certainly go back but not in any great rush..

I was hugely impressed by the efficient but friendly service. The Thai dishes are beautifully executed. I think that the general ambience is elegant without being intimidatingly exclusive.

Terrific food and lovely staff. We had a birthday lunch and everyone thought their food was delicious. Must also had that the dining chairs were very comfortable - important for the older moments of our party.

Very good but quite noisy, we tried to move but all around noisy, it's was difficult to hear each other during our conversations. However, we still enjoyed our food.

Very good, overall, but the double gin and vodkas seemed on the weak side. They did change them though Enjoyed and intend to go back.

Food tasted amazing and presentation was beautiful. But more importantly we can not fault the service we received. Brilliant from start to finish! I had a very pleased husband!

Three course business lunch was good value at £19.95, with a good selection of dishes. Service was efficient and friendly. Pleasant decor and central location in Hampstead 'village'.

Great food and atmosphere - maybe a little dark but smart decor. £95 for two which was quite pricy as we only had two beers and two starters/two main courses and one side. £8.95 for a side of green beans with garlic and chilli is way over the top! The food is good though - would recommend the lime and chilli seabass!

We had a lovely meal at the newly opened Patara Hampstead. Food was great - flavours were spot on! Service was good. I would definitely recommend although it's not the cheapest Thai food but definitely worth a visit

nice food, ambience. Functional service. Meal for 2 (+ bottle of wine @ £40, 2 courses) was £150 - for me this seemed way overpriced. I would think twice about returning because of this.

Good food and excellent service. They even had a dedicated gluten free menu, which was very useful for my friend, who is gluten intolerant. A good addition to the Hampstead dining scene.

Good quality, up-market Thai food. Well designed restaurant and friendly service. We enjoyed the lamb chop with Thai spices and the slow roast beef in coconut milk.

Food was nicely presented, flavoursome, fresh. However I thought it a little expensive, especially the desserts and herbal teas (herbal teas @ £4.95) Service okay. Decor quite nice. Restaurant was quite stuffy and hot.

Ridiculously overpriced, the lobster pad Thai was awful. The lobster was overlooked, tough and impossible to cut through. The staff were over eager to the point of irritation. We were about to order a fresh mint tea when we saw it was £4.75 for fresh mint!!! So we went home and had our own. Not recommended.

The food was excellent. The restaurant was very busy but the service was still very good. We were group of 11 and I would definitely recommend the restaurant for any group bookings. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great too.

The location of the restaurant is great. On arrival the greeting was lovely however the menu is very pricy and the taste is not worth the price! Our waitress kept on forgetting our request for a sauce and lots of escuses about being 'too busy'. The staffing system was unorganised... The staff were getting told off infront of the customers. Overall: I wouldn't recommend it.

I went to eat at Patara with a friend. The food was very good though I found my signature starter dish (Dumplings of caramelised chicken and peanut) too sweet. The main course of beef cheeks panang was delicious but certainly not made for big appetites. Overall, we thought that the food was good but overpriced (with sides of vegetables for £10).

I first went to Patari for lunch last week and was delighted with the restaurant and the reasonably priced lunch menu. On the strength of this took a friend there for dinner and was little disappointed. It was v busy but service was ok. The dinner menu I felt was somewhat overpriced. I had a mixed seafood dish with a very subtle curry base which was exquisite, but my friends beef with coconut was dull and the meat a little tough. I would go back but I think only for lunch.

Quality of the dishes was ok. We have found it a bit over priced! We had tastier food in different Thai restaurants for much less! Service was good and quick. Highlight for us is the soya nudles with vegies and the chicken Thai soup chefs signature dish.

Service was average, food was really nothing special - in fact, the vegetables were really lacking in flavour. Disappointed, as I've been to the other Pataras and they were better. Too expensive for what you get.

Good food, good service, our waiter was fantastic and took good care of us. They have a good selection of snacks to get started and the mains were done nicely. But this place offers fine dining and the price tag is on the high side.

The menu has changed and is small, hardly any options for mains and the portion sizes were tiny! £15 for a prawn curry and I got 3 prawns in it! No, no, no Patara, what have you done? Ruined one of the best Thai restaurants in London to scrimp on costs! Even the waitress was complaining about your new hideous uniforms! Time to go back to the old menu, service and uniforms. You cannot keep this up especially at the prices you charge!
