Very good tasty food and excellent service with a smile. The chicken puri starter was delicious. Good value, large portions and reasonably priced. I even took a doggy bag home.
Great food and friendly service. Been there 3 times now and i rate it as one of the best Indian restaurants in Edinburgh. Looking forwards to the 4th.
Starter was not cooked properly and no replacement arrived. It was that busy that we had to get our own cutlery between courses. Free drink in compensation.
The food was very tasty and the atmosphere lively on a Saturday night. Despite being short-staffed, the waiting staff were doing their best to keep things moving along, including looking after a few large groups. We enjoyed the dinner and will go again or get a takeaway.
fantastic meal . food and staff lovely . we picked from pre theatre menu and enough choice on it. good value for the price. wine good too.
Fabulous. Booked on line 1 hour before no problems . Food was great especially Chicken Balti. Very good service will definitely be back and a bonus they do deliveries.
Nice food but starter portion of veg pakora was small. Curry & Naan was lovely. Good service would go back again, didn't need to book.
Food is absolutely delicious! The servings are generous (partner had land chop starter which came with 3 chops). Very comfortable, staff are friendly and polite.
We were seated quickly, there was a choice between the regular menu or pre theatre dinner menu. The food was lovely. Not too expensive either.
The meal was most delicious. It was real authentic Indian style cooking. I live Indian food and have eaten in different parts of the world and the food here was among the best in the UK. Much better than all London fares.
I always have lamb dishes when i have an Indian and as i have only frequented 3 different Indian eateries thus far i in Edinburgh i can honestly say the lamb at Passage to India has been the most tender yet and staff great.
Restaurant ideally situated near Edinburgh Playhouse. Went here after a show. Service was very good as was the meal. A perfect ending to a lovely day out.
Great food and great service. Chicken Korma is amazing. I was in a party of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you.
The food was good, my family enjoyed theirs and they have a good pre-theatre menu up until 7:30pm. I'm giving 3* however because I mentioned on the booking that I have coeliac disease (gluten free) and this was just to give them a heads up - I do this now out of experience. When I ordered the waiter obviously had no idea what gluten free even meant and went to check with the chef. He came back and claimed that out of a roughly 100 dish menu all I could eat was one chicken dish and boiled rice. I knew this couldn't be the case and spoke to another waiter who then advised me of more dishes that were gf and it was all fine. Or so I thought, later I was very ill and so obviously the dishes weren't gluten free. If you can't cater for gluten free I gave warning and should have been notified so I could go elsewhere. I will not be returning unfortunately.
Fantastic value and delicious food - topped off by great friendly service - we will definitely be back in the future. Well placed for a pre theatre meal
Initially very quick service. Good tasty. When we wanted to have coffee waiter dismissed us and said it was only instant. Strange. However, an enjoyable meal.
Waited over half an hour for starters, the waiters and service poor, lack of availability of certain drinks. Food however once arrived was very good.
Excellent service and delicious food, will definitely be backand would highly recommend a visit 💟 prices reasonable as well. This little gem has the whole package.
Decent food. Not too expensive. Service was slow-was busy. Well situated for the Playhouse and Omni centre. There is a pre-theatre menu. Could maybe do with a reburbishment.
Had an excellent meal here. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and not thick with fat like you get in some other curry houses. The waiter was even willing to give me hints on how to make one of the dahls we had which Is different from any I have had else where. We were assured it was a very authentic one which was verified by one of the others in the group who has travelled to India many times. Have been before and will be bacl again. Portions are very generous!
Great meal, service first class, friendly waiters - hope to go back there before too long. Not too busy when our group of four were in the restaurant , which made conversation easy as some restaurants can be very noisy.
Booked for 6 after good reviews on trip advisor however experience was not as suggested. Service was poor and the food not of a great standard, we are a group that has a monthly curry night so able to compare. Decor and ambiance a la 1970 canteen, not cheap either, sorry not for us.
Arrived about half hour early, was no problem to give us our table early. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced, we will definitely return when we need a meal before a show at the playhouse.
Food was good, but DESPITE "we accept AMEX, MasterCard, Visa, Diners Club" signs on door, they did not accept any card and I had to walk a block to get ATM cash. I just flew in and only had euros and dollars. VERY IRRITATING.
Restaurant was very clean and staff most helpful. We had a great choice of Indian dishes also plenty of vegetarian dishes. Food was very tasty. Would certainty recommend this restaurant.
Great food with great service at a reasonable price. Only amusing point was a phone call from the restaurant asking why I hadn't turned up as I had booked a table, whilst I was sat at the table. Funny really.
Really yummy food, good service! We will return for sure. They were very accommodating to our 2 year old who just loved the staff. Recommend the chicken saag and squid to start
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We found the table service to be very good and the food quality was exceptional. We shall certainly return at some time in the future.
Lovely food, lovely restaurant and excellent staff at a very reasonable cost. I rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants in Edinburgh and I've been to quite a few.
The food was truely excellent, in particular the fresh naans. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience, would definitely go back.
Lovely food. Don't be fooled just because it looks quiet. Competition in the area is high which was good for us as there were no big, noisy groups. worth a visit.
