The food was great as were the cocktails during happy hour but the service was incredibly slow! We waited over 25 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink, some drinks orders were lost as it got busier and then the waiter had the cheek to hurry us up to free up the table!
Another excellent meal with the chefs adapting what the fish is served with to suit my preference. Thank you
Paesan is a lovely restaurant. The service was great, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, the menu has a lot of different dishes to choose from. The bar downstairs also has a happy hour until 8pm, where you are able to go before hand and bring your drinks up to the restaurant. The atmosphere was really relaxing, music and lighting was just right.
Excellent food as always when we visit here. We will no doubt be returning
Excellent restaurant. Great food and ambience. Very nice Sicilian white accompanied saltimbocca, followed up by an apple strudel with pine nuts and mascarpone. Mi piace molto.
Lovely, low-lit, cozy restaurant. Nice menu and very flexible, helpful servers, especially with allergies! The food is delicious (seriously I hate kale and black kale is a wonder), and the drinks menu is unusual, in a good way.
I'd highly recommend this restaurant! The location is very nice, the food was really good. We had very well cooked meat dishes. The service is great as well!
Great food and very attentive staff who were flexible to our need for a quick lunch. Also some good recommendations on the menu. Nice atmosphere also.
The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. A definite for a return visit. We loved the focaccia, the meat and cheese combo platter and the affogato dessert.
Easy to book, close to home, we had a good table, both had good food, and the server recommended a decent wine. It wasn't life changing, but we'll be going back with friends.
Outstanding food and really friendly service. The papardelle with shin of beef ragu was spectacular! Good range of wine. All very reasonably priced as well- I would certainly go back!
Had an early pre-theatre dinner here on a Monday night. As usual, we were treated as if we were invited guests of the house. The service was subtle but exceptional, and the food--as always--was terrific (sea bass, vongole, risotto on this visit were all first-rate). I've eaten here half a dozen times since 2014, and at every visit I've left thinking, "Paesan is even better than I remember!" This is the place for a top-notch dining experience at a relatively affordable cost, and service aimed directly at making customers feel appreciated, first and foremost.
Food was awesome, atmosphere really cool, and loved how the restaurant looked like. It was a great experience, and I would go there again without a doubt.
Amazing pasta and great atmosphere for a family dinner. Wine was superb and the starter were very delicious. Try fresh pasta rather then a meat or fish main.
Third visit to Paesan and it managed to remedy a disastrous birthday night-out from the previous evening. It's exactly what I go there for - authentic, tasty food with a casual atmosphere and friendly staff. The service is timely and yet relaxed and I always leave with buzzing tastebuds and a full belly! I love that the menu is seasonal so you get slight changes and rotations to keep it fresh. Never actually been to the late-bar downstairs but it's great that there's the two separate options. Highly recommended if you want to sample authentic regional Italian dishes :)
Food as always was very good but service was a little scatty and portions were quite small. I come here often but might be time to try somewhere new....
Delicious food and a cozy, rustic chic vibe! I highly recommend the risotto and try to leave room for the yummy desserts. We will be back to grab a drink in the basement too!
The service was amazing- everyone was so friendly and attentive in both the bar and restaurant. The food was fantastic quality and good value. I would definitely go again!
Really nice restaurant with lots of atmosphere. The menu is really good and the food was great, as was the service. All very reasonably priced.
Good option option for an informal business lunch. Efficient service and short menu that still manages to cover lots of Italian bases. Set menu very good value. Great selection of wines by the glass. Food was of a pretty high standard. Would have been perfect if my pappardelle had been served with the shin of beef ragu stirred through, rather than in a dense clump with the beef on top. A lighter hand needed in the serving, not the cooking. The sort of attention to detail that separates the great from the good. But this place is at the upper end of good
Great, friendly service and amazing food. The antipasti sharer went down a treat and the pappardelle ragu were just perfect. We stayed for a few drinks at the bar. Excellent cocktails and a great atmosphere. 10/10 would go again, highly recommended.
Lovely simple but tasty Italian food. The happy hour from 5-8pm is particularly good with bottles of wine at £12 and 2 for 1 cocktails. A meal for two with wine and a cocktail each came to £50 in total. Not bad at all.
Great service and food, they also have a lunch set menu perfect for a light bite - not too heavy. Great location too for Sadlers Wells theatre shows.
Excellent food, really enjoyed the venue and the meal. First table had a rather worn out seat (taped up and uncomfortable) but we asked to move and everything was fine after that! Would go back again.
Love the food at Paesan. I had yummy arancini followed by great orichiette. The service was just right for what we needed, and the atmosphere was great. Love this place!
A nice place restaurant for a pre theatre meal. Good food and service. Very quiet when we went but it was early. Would go again.
It is good simple and tasty food at resonable prices. The service is relaxed and the place is cosy with nice low lighting. Very recommendable
Food delicious. It took a long time for our food to arrive and the staff actively managed our expectations about it and gave us free bread to keep us going, as well as a free dessert and limoncello. At no point did we complain. I would definitely go back
Lovely food and great atmosphere. Would recommend going to the bar downstairs for a pre drink and the happy hour is until 8! Friendly staff too.
Good food and atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Here's another sentence to make up the additional twenty five words that seem to be required.
Great food and wine, with friendly service and nice atmosphere. Overall it was good value for the quality of the food - would definitely recommend.
Really great food! Great atmosphere. I did make a reservation online and called but when we turned up it wasn't in the system. Thankfully there was space anyways.
Great food, great service. When our food was taking a bit long they bought out some lovely focaccia without us even asking. The bar downstairs is great too- tasty cocktails and popcorn refills!
It was very noisy due to large parties having birthdays etc. the pasta sauce was not very tasty. Staters good. Overall cost quite high. Service excellent.
The food was absolutely delicious, I was very impressed by the quality (and it was at a very reasonable price - I ordered a starter and a main and the bill came to less than £20). I loved the ambiance of the place as well. If you're waiting on a table, there's a wonderful underground bar with plenty of space and a nice selection of drinks. The service was of a very high standard - friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning!
Good place, good food, good service, but only one veggie option and it was mushroom risotto, which is always the veggie option! I'd still go back.
Great little Italian with nice buzzy atmosphere and great cocktails downstairs. Booked for 8.45pm on a Friday night and they were able to seat us 30 mins early.
Beautiful food as always, not enough staff on so service was slow but they are always friendly and helpful. Recommend the beef shin ragu - delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here last night. The bar downstairs is lovely space, and the cocktails are delicious, even on the 2-4-1 offer they spend the time making them properly. The food was great, simple menu but everything cooked really well and can tell it is fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and nice decor and the ability to book is great to avoid queuing like at so menu restaurants lately - would highly recommend.
Really delicious food and lovely setting, would definitely return! We had to wait quite a while for our food however. Would recommend the artichoke, Pecorino and mint bruschetta.
We had a great meal - as always. Despite our reservation not being there when we tipped up. My advice would be book direct. Quandoo booking didn't work despite a confirmation e mail.
Interesting, tasty, unpretentious authentic food with brilliant service from people who obviously liked what they were doing. Our only regret was that we had not left enough room for dessert. We will definitely be back. Just hope we can get a table.
Food was great. Shared a burrito and chicory to start, and followed that with the rabbit pasta and pork saltimbocca. Amazing! Good value and great service too.
Nice atmosphere and furniture. I went there on a Sunday, was busy and quite noisy. I was expecting more from the food which I'd rate average for an Italian restaurant. The service was a bit rude.
Great food and service will definitely return soon! They have a monthly regional focus as well as their standard menu if Italian classics, all made freshly and prepared brilliantly
Awesome food, knowledgable and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and an all round excellent evening with friends. The free limoncello was a nice touch too! Definitely recommended for a quiet but fun evening in central London.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the service was really friendly. we were never waiting overly long at any point in the evening. The food was good quality. Would recommend and will go back.
Delicious food, cracking environment and amazing value for money! (Especially the focaccia and arancini.... and meatballs with polenta.... and the coffee... and the choice of meats...)
Great lunch menu. 2 courses for 9 pounds, tasty simple good food
Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere with the best service we have had in years. Everything we ate was fresh and full of flavour. Highlights included a delicately creamy burrata, smokey char-grilled artichokes and light crispy arrancini. The side order of fries was a plate of moreish carb scrumptious ness. What made our dining experience even more memorable was the service from our waitress, who was polite, courteous, attentive and efficient without ever being intrusive or making us feel we were being rushed. We will definitely be returning.
