Service , quality and presentation of the food was excellent. we will certainly be visiting again, its a shame that we live 45 minutes away, if we lived closer ! who knows we would be there every week.

Totally delicious food and wonderful service. My friend and I were really impressed. The service was speedy without being rushed and we felt special and the food was excellent.

As always, a first class meal. Our only grumble is that portions are very large, especially the starters. We have only once managed a pudding!

The occasion was a meal for two to celebrate my wife's birthday; the food was excellent an reasonably priced. Service was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant just right.; cosy and intimate but with an awareness of other diners.

Lovely venue, with excellent lunch menu. Lots of choice and seasonal ‘specials’ too. Friendly staff, although service not quick. A perfect place for a relaxed lunch.

Perfection! Food, service and surroundings. Set in the idyllic north wales town of Ruthin. This small yet well presented restaurant is second to none in the north wales area.

Our meal was really excellent - just as good as ever. Wonderful cooking and service. The portions were very generous and the two course lunch menu was great value.

Truly exquisite vegetarian options and our party's carnivore loved the pork dish. This is the best restaurant for many, many miles. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Excellent Restaurant. Friendly, welcoming staff - quickly shown to our table on the upper floor. Bottled water served to us with our menu. Fantastic choice - couldn't decide, so many things I like. Decided on black pudding starter and deep fried Brie. Both were delicious. Beforehand complimentary homemade nachos and hummus dip. Our main courses of chicken breast and venison pie were both presented beautifully. Only one is us could manage a dessert (me) but I did allow my husband to taste. Trio of lemon consisted of mini lemon tart, orange creme brûlée and lemon cheesecake served with citrus ice cream. Highly recommend the On the Hill for its food, atmosphere, staff and can't wait to return.

Had a great lunch on Tuesday. There were a few different starters on the menu, I had the pulled pork fajita, and I loved the chicken breast. Finished with luxury hot chocolate. I noted this time they have added some mini sweets to the menu, for those of us who can't manage a large dessert, like the signature Trio of Banana Once again a fabulous meal.

Love this place. The historic building. The well-trained, helpful and pleasant staff. But most of all - the food! Great situation, too - fabulous views to your right immediately you step out of the door.

Superb. The most exquisite seafood crepe, lovely bream, and the silkiest crepe brûlée ever. Great touch that you have the option of mini-puds after the rich and generous preceding courses. Atmosphere buzzing, surroundings quietly elegant, and friendly service beyond reproach

First time visiting for hubbys birthday. A lovely experience the hostess/waitress was warm and welcoming and the drinks and meals came in good time and were delicious. The restaraunt was very busy and yet there was a lovely friendly atmosphere allowing both privacy and also opportunity to enjoy the laughter and smiles from the other guests. Certainly, we will be returning in the near future hopefully.

Fabulous restaurant in a lovely setting. We ate here for our wedding anniversary and the meal was fantastic. The complimentary nacho chips with homemade houmous were lovely. My other half passionately hates carrots but the curried carrot houmous went down a treat with him! We both had prawns and calamari nibble followed by the fish market main which was a tasty selection of different mini fish dishes. The banana trio dessert was fab, loved it! My hubby went for banana sticky toffee pudding mini , also part of the banana trio. Great idea to have a selection of mini desserts to choose from if you've only a bit of room for pudding. All in all a wonderful dining experience highly recommended, thankyou On the Hill!

Another lunch here and yet again it was both excellent in quality and value for money. It was as ever busy and I particularly enjoyed the sea food crepe.

I had the most fabulous scallops and home made black pudding starter. It was so tasty and beautifully cooked. Main course of slow roast pork belly was also fantastic. Loved the whole meal and the restaurant was buzzing. Lovely birthday treat. Would recommend this little gem. Lovely historic town so take time to wander round.

Delightful relaxed ambience with friendly no-nonsense waiters. A mixed party of four from 14 to 78 years old. We were able to mix and match from the lunchtime menu. The food was well presented, hot and delightful.

Good service and balanced choice of menu. Starters, main course and sweet all well presented. Tasty meals and they provided good value for money. Lovely ambiance and will visit again in the not too distant future, thank you.

Music was quiet, so didn't interfere with the pupose which was to talk and eat. Lovely food. No rush. Perfect.we will go again sometime soon.

We visited recently for lunch. The service we received was incredible. A great menu and the food did not let us down. Reasonably priced wine and really nice food. We will definitely go back.

Food excellent as usual. Menu has changed since last visit, didn't seem to be as much choice and don't think there was a charge for the bread, olives etc. previously.

The evening and food was excellent. We could not fault anything. The service was brilliant and the restaurants atmosphere was lovely. We had starters, olives, home made dip, bread. Best we have ever had. Mains. Duck and salmon with all the trimmings, again excellent. Shared a sweet of chocolate and ice cream. wine was priced well. Will definitely be going again.

We are vegetarian and ate there to celebrate my husbands birthday. We chose the Morroccan veggie dish which was absolutely delicious. Food, service and ambience always great.
