Many visits later,this is still our favourite restaurant .It never disapoints,because there is a fantastic variety on the menu and the meals are delicious and so wonderfully presented. Staffeta are courteous and welcoming.A lovely treat.

I went to On the Hill, with friends, for lunch on a Saturday and it became very busy. This did not phase the staff and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. The meals were served promptly and cheerfully. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent as always. We’ve never had a bad meal here and we’ve been coming since it opened! Staff are always friendly and make you very welcome.

my wife and I had the same starter of king prawn and calamari which was beautiful, followed by the special which was the beef duo and that was even better all this was accompanied with a rather nice bottle of tempranillio and gin and lemonade

This is our fourth visit here and it never disappoints, food , service all above and beyond Very helpful with gluten free as well Superb , we will definitely be visiting again If you want a real treat you must pay On The Hill a visit

On The Hill is a fantastic little restaurant in a great little town. After a morning of exploring the history of Ruthin we enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Great choices on the menu and friendly unhurried service made for a lovely few hours

The Hospitality, surroundings and food were good but the food, particularly the main course, was not quite to the high standard we have enjoyed in the past.

A superb and delicious meal. Mushroom tartlet starter was stunning, Fish market main so tasty. Not usually pudd person, but went for banana trio - simply LUSH! The atmoshere relaxed and calm as always. Service attentive. A MUST in Ruthin.😀❤

Sat at table 3, big draft from door, doesn’t detract from how good the food was and the ambience was, great service. The whole place is so relaxed, really nice to go to a restaurant where it really matters to the staff how the whole dining experience is for the customer. Can’t wait to go back!!

We chose mainly seafood from the menu. It was excellent and served on hot dishes. The staff were attentive and efficient.. The atmosphere was relaxed and not stuffy at all. We look forward to visiting again.

Utterly amazing as ever! This restaurant is well worth the drive from Wolverhamptom. The food is astounding and very reasonably priced, and the service is second to none.

I’ve been going to On the Hill for years now and I’ve always had a good meal. I would certainly recommend it both for standard of meal and service. 😊

The restaurant was really busy on the evening of our visit yet service was excellent. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and shown to our table. All staff were extremely friendly and polite. The atmosphere is just right, busy but relaxed and informal. The menu was really varied and if you love fish as we do the menu was brilliant. Fresh fish is brought in every day, lots of meat dishes also and vege choices but most importantly all the food was delicious. Having discovered this place tucked away at the entrance to Ruthin Castle, we'll definitely be returning.

The food was very good but the portions were too big for us. We hate to waste food and tried to tell staff we only wanted smaller portions not expecting a reduction of price but it seems that variation in portion size was not an option. I think this may dter us from coming again despite the quality of the food -so would recommend this is consideted

Absolutely amazing food. Could have eaten so many things on the menu but we were delighted with all of our starters and main courses. Great choice of drinks too and really enjoyed local cider. Too full for dessert! Brilliant service too. Thanks!!!

Our first visit to On the Hill and the food and service was exemplary. The black pudding starter was sublime. I loved it. Followed by the Thai Curry. Slightly disappointed that the rice had peas in it (hate peas) but the disappointment didn't last long when I tasted the heavenly chips that also came with the dish. The two courses plus entrees when we arrived just pushed the puddings out the window, but next time we'll be ready to try out the puddings. Can't wait 😊 Top job On the Hill xx

A brilliant place! The food is imaginative without being pretentious and always of the highest quality. The service is friendly and efficient. I do not know of a better restaurant anywhere! We have eaten there regularly since it opened - probably about forty times - and have never been disappointed.

We have never been disappointed when dining at On The Hill. The atmosphere is excellent as is the service and food. It has the full package.
