This is a great restaurant friendly staff great service and amazing food. Loved the new smaller plates idea if you can’t manage all three courses.

On the Hill provided excellent high quality food with dishes that were delightful and delicious. The service was brilliant - friendly and efficient. A real gem- we loved it!

Wonderful food, great attentive staff, we will be back! The wine was delicious, and the whole meal was great value, the idea to have mini puddings is genius, I really wanted a little something sweet but not a full pud, mini dessert was perfect!!

Great food, great value, good service, a little noisy at times

Fabulous food served in a warm and friendly environment, exceptional value for the quality of the food. Lots of options for small plates and a great range of both regular size and mini deserts which means if you can’t choose you can have a smaller portion in multiple. Food was extremely tasty and very well presented by attentative and knowledgable staff. Would most certainly recommend a visit to this amazing restaurant.

A stunning birthday meal for my partner. The first time we both been here and cannot fault anything. A great atmosphere, super service. A fine dining experience. We are looking forward to bringing our friends on our next visit and cannot wait to return.

By far the best restaurant in North Wales. Food is aways outstanding and service very attentive. Very reasonably priced, an absolute jem! I would highly recommend to anyone.

Brilliant as ever! Never disappoints . Such good cooking and great value. My bream dish was lovely and so was the pork. Service is faultless. The desserts are always fantastic. Only minor negative: fries not as good as their old chips!!

Staff are always friendly, helpful and very attentive. The food is some of the best quality I’ve ever tasted and never fails to disappoint. The menu has something to suit all.

Wonderful food, service and experience. Narrow stairs to 1st floor and toilets on 2nd floor (I think there are accessible toilets on ground floor but do check). We visit here as a treat to ourselves as is really nice food and not your everyday.

Excellent food but service can be slow we have found on the last two occasions we have dined there. We cancelled our order for teas after the meal as we gave up waiting. Starters and mains took so long we didn't want to wait for our desserts so we had just ordered teas.

Food very good, interesting menu and very reasonable lunch time offer. Minus were tables very close to each other. Also we had to repeatedly ask for our bill. In the end we went up to the bar area to settle - got fed up with being ignored.

We have been to On the hill a few times. Every time the service has been excellent. The food is out of this world. Looks good and so tasty... the whole experience is fantastic. Would defently recommend this restaurant to anyone

A splendid evening - again! We love this restaurant, always an interesting menu and the food well cooked and delicious. The staff are attentive without being over the top and always pleasant and helpful.

Slow service, very good food nice choice of mains and deserts. Helpful staff . steep stairs to use upstairs part of building. All ways busy.

Excellent food with a good selection of food and drinks on the menu and also a few specials too . Would recommend but booking is essential.

Food was of a very high standard great value for money. The atmosphere was good and it was very busy for a lunchtime I think this was due to the fact that it was 3 courses for £20

Wonderful food with a warm, buzzing atmosphere. Only reason for a 5 and not 6 was the cramped tables. Ours was by the main walk way and the table moved as people walked passed. A small price to pay for an otherwise first class meal.

The food was delicious with a good choice. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The building is old and quirky but there are a couple of tables with no steps to get to them.

We booked a table for 6 for a late lunch. The food was excellent and the service was good. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

The food was good, but we felt that the service was a bit rushed. At one point we had the complimentary dip, nibbles and starters on our table. We thought that the cost represented fairly good value for money.

We really rate this restaurant, the food is great, and the service is exceptional, with a special mention for Andrew, also it’s just brilliant value for the money , we would highly recommend it, and definitely look forward to going again .

Good food and service from friendly staff. The evening specials were good but it would be helpful to have a vegetarian option as a special too bearing in mind that the main menu has only one option.

Food lovely very tasty, lovely cocktails, service usually slow by design but so slow actually inattentive on this occasion. Will definitely go back very soon.

Really love this restaurant, but sadly today fell well below the standard we are used to. The main course was dry, and the potatoes burnt, the crackling didn't crack

A last minute Saturday lunchtime treat whilst my mum was visiting. 5 of us (inc a 5 yr old) and we were all very well catered for. Great choices for non-meat eaters (a couple of fish dishes and 1 vegetarian). My starter of king prawns and crispy calamari was so moreish with lots of ginger and chilli and a lovely broth and Welsh Pork for mains - unfortunately I had no room for pudding! Looking forward to my next visit in September :)

Such a gem of a place - trying to describe how tasty the food is, is quite difficult! The pheasant breast, served with a mini-game pie and sweet root veg was divine! The service was excellent. Having lunch out during the week was the height of decadence and I would thoroughly recommend it!

Amazing food as always and great value but took 3 hours for 3 courses to be served. Unfortunately we were behind a table of 16 therefore food was delayed !

Had wanted to visit On The Hill for some time having heard lots of good reports. Managed to do so (for lunch) last Friday and so wished we had tried it before. Expectations surpassed in every way. First class food, service and ambience. About to book again for an evening meal to celebrate a birthday. Fabulous.

Can't believe I haven't been here before what a fantastic restaurant . The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the food is out of this world. Will definitely be paying another visit.

We went to On the Hill on a rainy Monday lunchtime. As ever the food was excellent and service attentive but not officious. What better way is there to enjoy bad weather?

This is my third time to On The Hill, and as expected was fantastic, food excellent and staff very friendly, also a good choice of gin. A great way to start my 50th birthday celebrations.

As ever top top quality food and service. Best restaurant for miles around. Good wine and drinks list. Very good value. Very busy even for a Monday night which tells you all you need to know.

What could be an amazing experience, food wise, is totally spoilt by the way that the owners try to “ maximise profit “ , by having the tables so close together. If, I doubt it, the building has so much history, then, make it special.... I would rather pay £10 more, than almost touching knees with the table next to me. Hope to god, that you never have Americans visiting, because, they wouldn’t be comfortable at all...!! Food, 8, venue, 2, sardines in a tin!
