Excellent food and friendly waitress service, but production of meals slow and prolonged waits must be expected between courses. Overall the experience was very good and we shall return.

Enjoyed a birthday meal with my boyfriend - first time we'd dined there and we were both very impressed. Very good food in lovely restaurant.

Went along for a Valentines midday meal good to see it wasn't a special Valentines set menu which most places do. As usual a great meal. Lots of variety on the menu and great atmosphere.

Beautiful food and lovely staff. It can get very warm in the upstairs rooms which can make it a little uncomfortable but that isn’t only minor observation.

Exellent food, warm and friendly service. Has to be my favourite restaurant. Very relaxed environment for a leisurely lunch. Three course lunch and neither of us wanted anything else to eat all day.

This is the best restaurant in the area, lunch here is exceptional, the food is top notch, the ambience is lovely. We enjoy our visit each time, and I am slowly making my way through the menu.

Very good food and service. Only negative comment would be about the smoke coming through the kitchen door each time it was opened which rather spoiled the ambiance - the fresh air outside post-meal was most welcome.

As we were the first customers of the day, we arrived to a warm and timely welcome as they were unlocking the door for business. Cosy atmosphere, great service and most importantly, great food shared with great company.

As always, a lovely, interesting meal, very well priced, served by friendly, efficient staff in characterful surroundings. No wonder we go as often as possible!

King scallop starter was delicious but mains was cold on arrival and had to be returned. First issue in about 15 visits. Hopefully won,t happen again.

Great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. Will be revisiting in the near future either for lunch or evening meal. Can only highly recommend it.

Took my 82 year old Mum for her birthday. We had a fantastic meal, the fish goujons were just melt in the mouth, delicious. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Never been let down here!

Excellent as always! One of the party was vegetarian, she loved the choice and really enjoyed what was offered! It had been far to long since my last visit. Looking forward to coming again next week.

On The Hill never disappoint. The ambiance is lovely, the staff are efficient and friendly,.the food is amazing. You are not rushed, the table is yours for the duration. There is a nice gap between courses. The price is very reasonable for the experience. Highly recommended.

Excellent meal served with humour and enthusiasm. A mistake with the wine ordered was corrected without a murmur. Try a taste of Asia to start. Yum. The only negative is the seating. Wooden pews too narrow for my posterior!. Would highly recommend this restaurant

We were celebrating my husbands 60th Birthday 12 months down the line and On the Hill was very understanding we had taken so long... but it was well worth waiting for. This what I call a real treat! Visited many times before and will again no doubt. By far the best place to eat in quite a large area it is not the only place we eat and definitely for a treat but still exceptionally good value. Excellent food and very friendly service.

What more could I ask for - great food, good company and a great atmosphere. I’ve eaten at On the Hill numerous times over the years and they never fail to impress with the quality of the meals served. I would certainly recommend them.

The food was amazing, absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. We were quite disappointed how inattentive the staff were and we had to wait quite a long time either for food or the bill at the end. A shame!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at On The Hill. Good choice on menu,catering for all palates. The food was appealingly presented,hot and tasted delicious. The wine was also very good. Excellent value and excellent quality. This restaurant warrants full marks. We will certainly return.

The food was amazing, I had the fish market and my husband a sirloin steak - both were really tasty and both plates cleared! Service was excellent as always, looking forward to our next visit

we thought it was style over substance. There was a mixture of things on the plate that did not particularly go with each other. The main item on the starters for vegetarians was a mushroom dish and the main item on the mains menu was also a mushroom dish which is not good especially if you don't like mushrooms! I had not been able to check on the menu before visiting as the menu on the website was still from December. There were not enough individual desserts as most were a mixture

Nice setting, wonderful staff. Some nice touches with free olives and nibbles, water on the table. Large starter, small (fiddly) mains looked very nice but not what I would choose again sadly.

Nice welcome. Coats taken and we were seated quickly. Excellent service and attention throughout the meal even though the restaurant was very busy. Food superb quality with lots of flavours. Portion size ideal for us. Great value for money with the 2 or 3 course options. Reasonably priced wines from a varied selection. Very enjoyable lunch!

We received a warm welcome when we went to celebrate my husband's birthday on Tuesday lunchtime. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food, which was beautifully presented. The service could not be faulted.

Everything about our meal on Saturday 6/1 was 5*. We were made to feel welcome on arrival, staff lovely, warm and friendly. Food arrived piping hot and was delicious! This is our most favourite place in Ruthin!

We had a great evening here, staff are all friendly and helpful. The food was excellen the aperitifs pre starter was a really lovely touch. Great atmosphere would highly recommend it here.

I always recommend this restaurant to my friends and our lunch last Wednesday was absolutely delicious and well worth the journey from Rhos-on-Sea. Happy Christmas.

The food was excellent as usual, but we were rushed at the end because we were not told that the table was booked after us until 20 minutes before due time. However it will not prevent us returning because the food is the best in the area by far.

The food at on the hill is the best i have ever eaten,absolutely amazing.There was also an excellent atmosphere and great service.I will certainly return.
