Nutmeg Indian Restaurant

Nutmeg is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to.

The food was very good and different to a standard Indian Restaurant. The service was very good polite and not overbearing. overall the experience was very good and would recommend to anyone.

The food was excellent and the service was too. Overall and very nice restaurant and among the best for curry in Bristol. And some more words to make 25.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and helpful. A great way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Prices were also reasonable so felt like good value for money.

Although table given away as we were 15 mins late - parking v difficult- we were offered alternative, service fast and friendly. My daughter found the food too spicy and was unable to eat anything.

Very good food and excellent service. The main Chicken Chettinadu was particularly , well spiced and the chicken was very tender. A visit is well recommended.

Food was incredible but service was a little slow (probably cause it was so busy because of how good the food is though so not really complaining!!). Definitely coming back

Another successful and great visit to this restaurant. Must be our 5th visit, I just wish it was easier to book a table sometimes. We will be back.

Excellent Indian cuisine with an innovative twist. Very friendly and accommodating staff who make the effort to explain the menu. A relaxing and unhurried experience.

Fantastic food! Really beautifully cooked and so tasty. Everything from the chutney through to the main courses were amazing...a great meal! Will definitely be coming back

Very good atmosphere and food was brilliant, authentic flavours, it I had and criticism at all I’d have to say the service was disjointed and slow, but we would come back and try again.

Disappointed that it wasn’t made clear our table was only until 9,00pm Starter was enjoyable but main meal, which was re ommended, was disappointing Lacked flavour. So in this occasion rating only 3.

Delicious blend of spices and herbs . Plenty of meat/ fish in chunks with the right amount of sauce . Excellent staff who understand the menu .would definitely recommend .

This was our first visit to Nutmeg and we were all thoroughly impressed. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent, in particular the lamb shank. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu in future visits.

Great restaurant, great food, good atmosphere and good value. Service was less good - unwilling to substitute dishes for vegetarian options on the tasting menu and would not let us buy the coconut rice on it's own despite it being an option on the taster menu. Good other than that and just made the restaurant come across as unnecessarily snobby.

Nutmeg is one of the best Indians we've ever been to. The food is fantastic, with excellent, very friendly service. We are keen to go back and we would highly recommend it!

Its a great place if you like wine tipped over you... it was an accident but surely its how you handle things at the time.

Very friendly staff and wonderful food, service was fast and efficient would definitely come here again. Portion sizes could be just a bit larger but otherwise no complaints.

Food was excellent as always but this time the service was a let down. 15mins to receive our drinks and then another 20mins before the starters arrived. At the end we asked twice for the dessert menu and then gave up and asked for the bill. When that arrived, it was wrong with an additional bottle of wine listed (which we had ordered but they were out of stock). The staff were pleasant enough but clearly there are some basic service issues that let the restaurant down that evening (mid week).

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was a bit slow, we had to wait a considerable amount of time for mains and to order deserts, although the starters came out quite quickly. I also wish the cocktails had been cheaper, as I wanted to order one but £10.95 was too much.

Nutmeg isn’t your usual Indian restaurant, it is something else and something special. A great choice for a casual relaxing meal or to celebrate a special occasion. Service was great and the food was amazing. It doesn’t surprise me that this restaurant is in the Michelin guide.

Excellent service and superb food. We were shown to our table and our waitress for the evening imminently came to serve us and remained patient whilst we nattered instead of looked at the menu. She made sure we had everything we needed and was attentive (although not too much that it is was intrusive.) All round a great evening.

10/10- we loved it. Great service, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Will defo return and recommend to our friends, especially to those who like curry.

The staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Throughout our stay they were always attentive, but in no way pushy and gave you space to enjoy your meal. the food was outstanding and beautifully presented. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and I am sure that we as a family will return.

My second visit, this time with my wife and her sister. Excellent and friendly service on a Sunday evening, when it is less busy and street parking is free. We steered away from the taster menu, as we thought it might be too much to eat, so went for a main and dessert. My two companions had the gula jamon and ice cream, but they commented that it was a wierd combination, and didn't work for them. I had the chai creme brulee, which was wonderful. We'll be there again, I'm sure. Alan Gibson

Warm welcome with excellent service and superb quality food to match. We eat early on A Saturday evening and with other chance customers coming in we were under no pressure to vacate the table.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at Nutmeg. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious - the best chicken tikka I've had for a while!

Relaxed and informal atmosphere, impeccable and very kind service, particularly good food, pretty different from the classical indian we are used to in the uk, certainly good value for money. When we went I was unfortunately waiting for an important phone call (which I would have taken outside anyway), and I had a little problem as there was no signal of any kind in the restaurant: hence the 5 star instead of 6, but we'll come back for sure - with no phone - to enjoy the experience in full.
