We chose neon jamon having read great reviews about its coeliac friendly status as our daughter is a Coeliac and wanted our experience to be as good for her as for us !!we specifically said on the online booking that we had a coeliac member of our family party of five!our waitress was completely out of her depth possibly a new girl as she was all over the place !she hadn’t a clue about what gluten free foods were available for our daughter!we even had to ask for cutlery when our food came!there was no gluten free breads for the tapas and many tapas depend on the breads for dipping!after about an hour the manager came to our table possibly senceing our neglect and he was so helpful but it was too late!!another girl who helped us told us she was only brought in for the night but had worked there couple years ago so I expect it was a staff shortage night!food was only fair so we were very disappointed with the whole experience !

One of the best restaurants in Liverpool city centre and the surrounding area! I cannot fault this restaurant. If you like tapas with a twist this is your restaurant. The plates are pretty filling too, I ordered too much, but had to finish them, it would have been a crime not to! The drink selection is great too!

We had the set menu for a large group which was great. There was so much food and it was all delicious. The restaurant itself was very busy and it did feel like the staff, who were very friendly, were rushed off their feet.

The food here is great, it’s easy to get carried away and end up with most of the menu on the table! Can’t wait to return.

Food was lovely - couldn't fault it. But service trailed off once our food arrived. We were forgotten about ... it took 20 minutes to clear our table and even then they left some dirty plates - even when we asked for the bill they still didn't clear the remaining plates.

Worst tapas I've ever had. The only things that were any good were the cheese and ham. Patatas Bravas is a classic easy dish. We were served fried potato cubes with a spicy mayo sauce. Cod was tasteless but smothered in more spicy mayo. Tempura aubergine was a hollow husk of fried batter. Not authentic. Not good.

The food was great, it always is. The service was awful, had to ask multiple times for someone to take our order. It was embarrassing as we had guests over from Ireland. We got the wrong dishes and ended up having drinks taken off the bill.

We’ve been going to Neon Jamon since before the Berry Street restaurant opened. It seems like it might have a shelf life as I don’t know how much longer we’ll be going. Our small plates averaged £7.50! They’re not the only restaurant seriously hiking up the prices but when you pay that and get four tiny croquettes you begrudge it. Service was seriously sloppy. It annoys me when your table isn’t ready at the time you’ve booked for despite the fact on floor one alone we could see five empty tables, all suitable. So we get the classic “have a drink at the bar”. So of course extra money is spent that way. It wouldn’t take much to say “and have some free olives/nuts...” the stuff in jars that costs nothing and has no prep time. There wasn’t even a seat free at the bar! It seemed we were one of six couples whose tables weren’t ready when they should have been. The waitress almost shouting “yous two alright?” every 10 minutes does not constitute good service. It also is a throwaway comment given that each time we asked for water we had to ask at least twice more before it arrived. No priority given to anything that doesn’t make them money. I asked for a beer and received the wrong one. The bill had yet another, more expensive beer on it which was never ordered. We ordered tomato bread whilst we struggled to pick our dishes. It took an absolute age to arrive and backfired as it arrived with the food we ordered 20 minutes later! Not good. Small plates restaurants used to say “dishes will come out when they’re ready”. We felt as though we would have given anything for that to be the case. Instead everything arrived at pretty much the same time which is the last thing we wanted. The aubergine was as if we’d ordered to from the chip shop. So much fat dripping batter that there was no other discernible taste. A miso glaze or anything else similar would have been much better. The chorizo on the straw fries is of course now a chargeable extra. Most of the Alhambra beers the restaurant used to have are no longer available with only two remaining. The issue of only having one each male and female toilets for a full restaurant remains an issue as frustrating today as it was when they first opened. Ultimately the menu needs revision the portion sizes could be looked at but more importantly would be fairer pricing. The service needs improvement with staff changes or, at the very least, retraining. Perhaps some purely Spanish wines which aren’t blends. Deeply disappointing to visit this restaurant today and reflect on how much it’s changed since it first launched. I hope it can be saved and perhaps we will visit once more in a year or two before saying goodbye to it. For now, adiós.

Slow to he seated, host was a bit rude and distracted. First waitress was really good but then got swapped out for another who did not check if food was ok, did not offer more drinks, prawns were overcooked and the pinchos chicken skewers we're bland. We did not have serviettes and it took too long to get someone's attention to get for some. Everything else was good and the first server was really good, just a shame about the rest
