Fantastic food, poor service. Booked an 8pm table, served drinks and poppadoms immediately. Starters, main course and more drinks ordered at 8.30. Husband’s starter arrived promptly, my starter arrived as he finished his. Drinks didn’t arrive so we requested them again. After another hours wait and watching other tables that arrived after us being served, we asked where our main courses were. It was clear we had been forgotten. We had wanted to order more drinks but nobody came to the table in that hour. Main course arrived at 9.50pm. I was expecting the manager to come and apologise for forgetting us, but he merely asked if everything was ok with our meal. I Won’t be recommending this restaurant to my friends in Denham.
The food was pretty good, definitely recommend. However the services is slow and noise levels in the restaurant are high. Waiting staff are very attentive helpful when ordering.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, we felt we had been rushed through the meal. Although the food tasted OK the dishes all looked and tasted similar.
Wonderful service, great ambience and the food absolutely delicious. This was our second visit to Monk Restaurant and will certainly not be the last. I can definitely recommend.
Our first visit was for lunch, Superb food, all very fresh and hot, obviously just prepared and cooked, not reheated frozen from night before, like some Indian restaurants. the Tamarind Duck is to die for. Looking forward to returning for Sunday buffet.
Dissatisfied tonight maybe different chef. One dish not as described other dishes too much oil. Staff very good though, offered complimentary drinks and took one meal of bill although would have rather have left enjoying evening.
Food was excellent staff very attentive. One of our party has nut allergy staff very good at explaining ingredients etc. Put us all at ease. Good atmosphere for a good night out.
As always excellent food, excellent surrounding and service. Anyone that likes good traditional tasting food cooked how it should be would not be disappointed if they visited Monk!
Nice decor, friendly staff. Food was excellent and really enjoyed by all our group. Had a two year old with us and she loved the rice and tikka masala. Will be going again 👌
every where clean tidy very impressive food an absoulute delight great range of choice for sunday buffet definately will return no bad points will go back to try main meals in week
Delicious . Throughly recommended. Dishes were very tasty. A wide choice of veg and non veg . I particularly enjoyed the lamb for starter and main . Visited 27/12/2018.
Amazing variety in the menu. Delicious and well presented dishes with just the right amount of heat. Nice, newly renovated restaurant and good service even when busy.
Lovely family meal, lots of different dishes and we all enjoyed our meals. My nephew choose the crocodile which really surprised me and he loved it. Highly recommended
Lovely meal Monk magic is.........magic Great service nice decor goat curry superb Would highly recommend this restaurant, Have been twice now and Will definitely go again
The choice of food on offer was impressive and each dish we chose was excellent. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.
Had a Christmas team lunch there. Decor was gorgeous, staff were friendly but most importantly, there was incredibly good food and impeccable service. I will definitely go there again.
Always have a great meal and am very welcomed and satisfied with the service. Food always tastes incredible and have the best starter I have had: Monk Magic. Thank you.
Very expansive menu with plenty of choice, ranging from mild to very hot flavours. Attentive and good service, a little on the slow side, especially when waiting to ask for bill. Reasonable prices - good value-for-money.
The food and service is great will definitely be going back there. The food is very fresh and Sunday buffet plenty of choice to be had.
Food and service are very good. Also reasonably priced. They don't overcharge for a decent bottle of wine like some places. Always busy so best to book.
Really great food as was Lumbini (previously owned by Monks owner). Really attentive to dining needs, and very friendly staff throughout. A teeny bit slow taking orders
What a joy to have this lovely Nepalese restaurant here in Denham. Amazing food, attentive service, and restaurant buzzing with happy satisfied people. I would certainly recommend it.
We arrived yesterday evening (1st Dec) for my partners surprise birthday meal. All his friends arrived prior to us and were seated quickly. The restaurant even allowed us to put our own funny birthday banner up on the interior of the restaurant: which was a laugh. The drinks were never a long wait and served very quickly all night. We had to wait a little bit for the food but considering there was 9 of us it was expected. And the food was AMAZING. Highly recommend the Kangeroo kebabs
Nepalese food (similar to Indian) but far more tasty, rather than hot. Would definitely go again and more often if they accepted the Gourmet Card!
Lovely atmosphere, Great food, reason for a 5, service could of been slightly better but it was busy. It’s Spotlessly clean and Staff are friendly
Service is slow but worth the wait Monk specials are worth trying. The service is very friendly the portions are good. This is not a standard curry house
We really enjoyed the food, and the Nepalese dishes (of which there was excellent selection) were very good. The appearance/décor was good, contemporary - as you may expect from a newly opened restaurant. We had only a table for 2 which was small but sufficient. It was to one side where the ceiling lighting was from ceiling downlights - it would have been nicer if the lights could have been dimmed a little. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was busy, one of the waiters seemed to have less English and for example we were told that there were no desserts, which I don't believe but we had sufficient anyway. Overall, we liked the restaurant, the food was very good, the Nepalese cuisine a change from standard Indian/Asian, and we certainly intend to go again and would recommend. Cost for two was about £90 for starters, ample main dishes (one main, two sides, very nice rice dish & bread), and drinks incl coffees.
Excellent meal and service - made us feel welcome as we entered the door, many thanks to all the staff will recommend to friends and family
Food very good but service painfully slow.we arrived at 7.45 and main course came at 9.30. Too many staff not knowing what they were doing
Good food with pleasant surroundings and helpful efficient staff, would recommend Monk to all my friends and would definitely pay a visit to the restaurant again.
Excellent as always. Good service, atmosphere and of course food Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area or not as it is worth the drive. They are also happy to accommodate any dietry requirements you may have
Absolutely fantastic. Great food. Service was excellent. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I cannot find fault!! Highly recommended and I will definitely be planning a return visit
Our first visit to Monk Restaurant and it did not disappoint. Nice interior design, crisp white linen table cloths, tables well spaced and a nice varied menu of Nepalese and Indian dishes. When we arrived there was a party of 16 already dining and only one waitress. So I was anticipating slow service. However, this was not the case. The lady who served us was friendly and efficient. The dishes we selected were tasty and well presented. We will definitely return.
Had a birthday party at The Monk last night. Service was great, food fantastic. Highly recommend! Nothing was too much trouble, very fresh and tasty.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic, especially the monk magic and goat knuckle. For me they are a must have.
Excellent food atmosphere good, unable to hear one another speak as intrusive music from ceiling speakers above tables ruined the achoustics and if one turned ones head you simply could not hear spoken word. Would go again though as food delicious
Fantastic food & atmosphere. Large varied menu with some unusual dishes that are far better than the average high street curry houses. Staff can’t do enough to help you choose & explain the various choices.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Really enjoyed our evening here, will be back again. Great addition to Denham, make sure you go and visit!
This was my third visit. Sunday buffet lunch was brilliant and very good value for money. Lovely staff and good ambience. Will definitely do it again.
Excellent food, could not fault it. The owner is so welcoming. Great evening & good service. Would recommend it, not oily or heavy. Best butter chicken EVER!! Will only eat Indian/Napalese there now!!
The food was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and polite , I would recommend the Monk to anyone that loves Nepalese and traditional Indian food
Nice friendly restaurant, but disappointing menu. Some of the dishes not available and no dessert menu. Ordered one of the specialist dishes of crocodile and presented with a very small dish with more onions and green peppers
Excellent service and exceptional food - this certainly is the place to be if you like your food to taste different with every dish. Never have I hadd a bad meal here and would highly recommend it to one and all!
I have been fortunate to dine in superb Indian restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi and London, so I’m quite fussy! But the Sunday buffet in Monk was absolutely superb. The fact that it’s Nepalese rather than the usual Indian (in reality, Bangladeshi) restaurants in the UK meant that there were subtle differences in tandem with the familiar. Two things to be aware of: although the online booking system provided by Quandoo.co.uk happily accepted my booking for 12:15, the restaurant doesn’t open until 13:00 on a Sunday. Fortunately they let my guest and me in and gave us poppadoms, but we did have to wait 45 minutes for food to be served. It was worth waiting for though, and arrived promptly at 13:00. The other consideration is that no desert was available, not even ice cream or - better still - kulfi. Never mind, I still highly recommend Monk for a sumptuous meal that is a little different from standard fare, yet still familiar. Full marks!
Great food, good ambience. Service a bit hit & miss , they forgot to bring a couple of things, but this is a new restaurant so I would give them a chance on this. Definately will go back soon
Beautiful food however we went for Sunday buffet and I would have preferred to choose from the extensive menu and have more of a choice
We had a really nice evening in a very good atmosphere. Staff are v polite & attentive and food excellent. Prices are reasonable too. Would recommend it strongly.
Lovely food and a great price. A selection of deserts would have been nice other than ice cream, and serving English Tea would have been a bonus other than coffee, but overall great food and value for money.
Delicious food from a wide selection. Friendly and efficient staff. Beautiful restaurant. All in all a perfect experience! We shall be returning without a doubt.
Super service, super staff, super food- nice decor We will definitely return. The Katmandhu chicken was most excellent. Also loved the sindhu aloo. Go there!!
